The MMA world has been wondering when Invicta Fighting Championships would be seen on television. The wait is over.
The cable and satellite providers that will be airing the event are IN Demand, DISH and Avail-TVN in the U.S and Bell TV in Canada, for a suggested retail price of $14.95. The night’s main-card broadcast is scheduled for four hours.
The headlining fight is a rematch between Marloes Coenen (21-5) against Cris Cyborg (11-1) to crown the first Invicta FC featherweight champion. The event will be taking place at the Ameristar Casino Hotel in Kansas City, Mo.
“We are excited about bringing the Invicta FC brand of women’s world championship Mixed Martial Arts to television for the first time with this tremendous rematch between two of the world’s top women fighters,” said Invicta FC President Shannon Knapp. “This is yet another step forward for women’s MMA and we are extremely proud to be leading the charge.”
The event is being distributed by Integrated Sports Media and is scheduled to air live starting at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT. Three preliminary bouts will stream live for free prior to the pay-per-view broadcast.
“We’re excited to be distributing Invicta FC 6 to MMA fans in the U.S.,” Integrated Sports Media President Doug Jacobs stated. “Women’s MMA has exploded, and Invicta Fighting Championships has led the charge.”
