WWE News: Jerry “The King” Lawler Has First Singles Since His Heart Attack

A lot of people thought that Jerry “The King” Lawler wouldn’t return to active wrestling since he suffered a heart attack last year. ProWrestling.net is reporting the WWE Hall of Famer will return to the ring and have a singles match with Mike Rapada this Saturday in Covington, Tennessee in the main event of the show.

The name of the promotion that Lawler is wrestling for hasn’t been released.

Lawler suffered a heart attack on the September 10, 2012 edition of WWE Monday Night Raw while commentating a match between The Primetime Players versus Team Hell No.

“The King” returned to commentating in November and then had his match on the independent scene in a tag team match with Dory Funk Jr’s promotion, Bang! in May. Lawler is also advertised to wrestle in a singles match at a event on Friday, September 13 in Mississippi.
