UFC News: UFC Will Have A Show In Singapore in January

The UFC will start 2014 off with a bang and in a new market. The UFC announced today they will debut in Singapore on January 4. A venue, ticket information and where the it will be broadcast has not been determined yet at this time.

“This marks a bold step for UFC’s expansion in Asia and is the first of a series of events in Asia planned for 2014,” UFC Managing Director of Asia Mark Fischer stated.

The UFC has appeared in Asia on three occasions, UFC 144 in February of 2012, UFC on Fuel TV 6 in November and UFC on Fuel TV 8 in March with UFC 144 and UFC on Fuel TV 8 taking place in Japan and UFC on Fuel TV 6 in China.

Fischer was excited that the UFC was heading more into Asian countries.

“We know many fans in Singapore and Southeast Asia have been waiting to experience the excitement of a live UFC event, and this will certainly be a great springboard for our continued development in this part of the world.”
