When Tito Ortiz had to pull out of his main event fight against “Rampage” Jackson, Bellator decided to move the Bellator 106 to Spike TV. The question was, could it deliver with its headlining fight gone? The answer was a resounding yes. It was announced per a press release from Spike TV that Bellator 106: Eddie Alvarez versus Michael Chandler II delivered 1.1 million viewers (9:00pm-12:45am), the most-watched in Bellator event history and the most watched mixed martial arts show on television this fall.

The “Chandler-Alvarez II” fight card peaked at 1.4 million viewers at 11:17pm and reached its high mark with Men 18-49 with a 1.1 rating for the Alvarez-Chandler bout. The telecast also ranked #2 in cable in its timeslot with Men 18-49.

The main event had Alvarez defeating Chandler to regain the Bellator lightweight title. A lot of fans complained that due to the event being so long and DVR’s cut off after a certain point, Bellator is going to re-air the entire Chandler vs Alvarez fight on Spike TV starting at 8 p.m. ET. That will be an hour before Bellator 107, which will feature the main event of Cheick Kongo battling Peter Graham.
