Tim Kennedy really wanted to fight on UFC Fight Night 31: Fight For The Troops 3 that he pleaded and begged UFC brass for the chance to be on the show. Kennedy who was apart of The United States Army and was apart of the Army Special Forces defeated Rafael Natal in the main event of tonight’s UFC Fight Night 31 round by TKO in the first.

The opening round begins with Kennedy throwing a kick then a right hand. Each guy misses a hook. Natal with an right outside leg kick and Kennedy counters with a high kick. Kennedy misses wildly with an overhand right and natal lands a body shot. Kennedy lands an uppercut and natal then throws a body kick.

Kennedy misses with a hook and Natal briefly takes down Kennedy who gets right back up. Natal throws a right outside leg kick with Kennedy falling down briefly. Kennedy then lands a body kick. another left outside leg kick by Natal. Each guy lands an outside leg kick. Each guy missing kicks and trying to find their range.

Kennedy lands a leaping left hook that floors Natal. Kennedy pounces and lands some ground and pound punches, with referee Herb Dean stopping the fight. Kennedy celebrates wildly and jumps on top of the cage and points to the troops.

Tim Kennedy defeats Rafael Natal by TKO at 4:40 of Round 1.
