Herb Dean To Referee Chris Weidman vs Anderson Silva Rematch At UFC 168

Herb Dean was the referee when Chris Weidman stopped Anderson Silva to win the UFC middleweight championship at UFC 162 in July. At a Nevada State Athletic Commission hearing this morning, it was announced that Dean will once again be the man in the middle when Silva-Weidman rematch at UFC 168 later this month.

“The first fight was quite strange, and I normally don’t recommend the same ref for the rematch, but here, I think it would actually be very appropriate,” NSAC Executive Director Keith Kizer said to the commission during the hearing. Moments later the commission approved Kizer’s request.

The judges for the main event were also announced as Junichiro Kamijo, Chris Lee and Patricia Morse-Jarman will be cageside.

UFC 168 takes place on Saturday December 28 from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
