DirecTV Will No Longer Air WWE Pay-Per-Views

When the WWE launched the WWE Network in February, people were wondering if cable and satellite providers would stop carrying WWE pay-per-views. Dish Network didn’t carry the Elimination Chamber show in February but did air Wrestlemania 30 eight days ago. Now the first company has dropped pay-per-views for good.

PWTorch.com is reporting that DirecTV will no longer air WWE PPV’s. We had reported back in January¬†when the Network was announced that DirecTV wasn’t happy with the fact the Network would be carrying pay-per-views if you subscribed to it. WWE released a statement to the Torch confirming DirecTV dropping the events.

“Yes, DIRECTV has decided to stop offering our PPV’s residentially and commercially. The only other option would be to work through the local cable provider.”

Is it a mistake for DirecTV to drop WWE pay-per-views?
