Jon Jones Challenges Chuck Liddell To A Superfight

Jon Jones will be looking to defend the UFC light heavyweight title for the seventh time as he battles Glover Teixeira at UFC 172 on Saturday night. Long time friend and training partner of Teixeira, former light heavyweight kingpin Chuck Liddell has been vocal when it has come to Jones.

“The Iceman” has been telling everyone who will listen, that Teixeira will beat Jones and the fight won’t last past the third round. Liddell told FoxSports.com early in the week, that if he was still in his prime, he would have “walked through his punches” and beat “Bones”.

Jones appeared last night on “UFC Tonight” and was asked about Liddell. While initially seeming to laugh it off, Jones got serious.

“At the end of the day, if Chuck wants to come out retirement, I welcome him to a superfight,” Jones said.

Liddell hasn’t competed in the octagon since his loss to Rich Franklin at UFC 115 in June of 2010 and was 1-4 in his last five fights.

Would you like to see a fight between Liddell and Jones? Do you think Liddell would accept the challenge?
