“The Ultimate Fighter 20” starts on September 20 on Fox Sports 1, with the coaches being UFC lightweight champion Anthony Pettis and Gilbert Melendez. This is the season where for the first time, the show will consist of all women. In December, the UFC announced some of the fighters that will compete on the season, which will be contested at 115 pounds.
The women announced to be on “The Ultimate Fighter 20” were: Carla Esparza, Alex Chambers, Claudia Gadelha, Felice Herrig, Bec Hyatt, Emily Kagan, Juliana Lima, Rose Namajunas, Tecia Torres, Paige VanZant and Joanne Calderwood.
VanZant, Gadelha and Lima will not on the season for reason unknown, but they will receive UFC contracts.
Earlier today, 36 women tried out for the eight remaining slots to be on “The Ultimate Fighter 20”.
