MMA Legend Calls Jon Jones A Dirty Fighter

Jon Jones defeated Glover Teixeira over two weeks ago at UFC 172 to successfully defend the UFC light heavyweight championship for a seventh time. Fans were critical of Jones after the fight as “Bones” was warned on two occasions for eye poking Teixeira. Also during the fight, there were times that Jones was waving an open hand in the challenger’s face.

On Friday’s edition of “Inside MMA” on AXS TV, co-host and former UFC heavyweight champion Bas Rutten was recapping the fight and made these statements about Jon Jones.

“He’s a very calm, relaxed, methodical fighter, and because he is that, I have to say, I’m sorry I have to say yes, that is a dirty fighter,” said Rutten. “Maybe when he was looking down and then pushing the fingers in the eye, maybe that happened. I didn’t check that out.

“But he knows exactly what he’s doing at any given time, and his fingers were definitely in [Teixeira’s] face and for a long time. He was constantly rubbing them in his face. So yeah, I have to say yes.”

Is Rutten right in his assumption of Jones?
