WWE Smackdown TV Taping

A recap of the Daniel Bryan surgery announcement was shown… John Cena came out to a big reaction, then footage aired of Bray Wyatt’s challenge from Raw. Cena made an extended nut joke that included punking out the singing gimmick. He accepted the challenge to a match at Payback and then challenged any member of The Wyatt Family to a match.

Bray Wyatt appeared on the big screen. He put over the Payback match and told Cena to make jokes and called him “funny man.” Wyatt thanked Cena for helping him find the cure, then sang to close… A Bolieve vignette was shown.

-WWE Tag Team Champions Jimmy and Jey Uso defeated Cody Rhodes and Goldust. The Uso Brothers were way over. The match started slow but got hot down the stretch. The Uso Brothers went over with a big splash. Afterward, Cody complained to JBL, who was on commentary, and then left without Goldust.

-El Torito beat Heath Slater. Well, it was fun while it lasted. Torito went over with a rollup after some miscommunication with Slater. Kids loved Torito. This crowd is hot for pretty much anything.

The Shield’s night on Raw was recapped.

-Nikki Bella beat Natalya. Eva Marie was the special referee and she came out to a big pop. This crowd no longer has credibility. Nikki won with a rollup. Natty was all over Eva afterward. Rough match.

Dolph Ziggler delivered a serious and decent promo about facing Batista. This was the second time the crowd saw Zigger, and even this crowd couldn’t must up a decent reaction. Batista got a good one, though.

-Dolph Ziggler beat Batista by DQ. Batista used a blatant low blow for the DQ. He hit the Batista Bomb on Ziggler after the match. Batista started to leave, but then he returned to the ring and performed the Batista Bomb on the guardrail. The refs ran out to help Ziggler, but there was no sign of The Shield.

Sheamus came out and spotted a woman with an “I’d trade my husband for Sheamus” poster. He gave her his t-shirt. Hilarious.

-Sheamus beat Titus O’Neil. Titus cut a pre-match promo in which he mocked Sheamus for being foreign and holding the U.S. Title. He asked Sheamus what color he was and described him as “hot mayonnaise.” There was more racially tinged comments and then he said he wasn’t afraid of ghosts. The bell rang and Sheamus hit the Brogue Kick for the win and a big pop.

-Santino Marella (w/Emma) beat Damien Sandow. Sandow and Emma appeared on Main Event earlier too, so it’s tough to expect big reactions for the returning talent. The crowd did pop for Santino and Emma at first, but then it was silent. Santino won with The Cobra in less than a minute. Bleh.

R-Truth came out doing his usual rap. Paul Heyman came out to major heat again. He’s the only guy who appeared on Main Event to get the same response the second time around.

-Cesaro (w/Paul Heyman) defeated R-Truth. Cesaro won a squash with The Neutralizer.

John Cena came out for his open challenge to the Wyatt Family and got a huge ovation. The Wyatt Family surrounded the ring. The Uso Brothers ran out before a gang attack could occur. Wyatt selected Erick Rowan to face Cena.

-John Cena (w/The Uso Brothers) beat Erick Rowan (w/Bray Wyatt, Luke Harper). Cena had the STF locked in. Luke Harper ran in afterward. Cena dodged Harper, and the Uso’s took him out. Cena hit the Attitude Adjustment for the win.

Dark Match

Wyatt sat at the top of the ramp to close the taping. Cena asked the crowd if they wanted to see one more match. He called out the Wyatt Family for a six-man tag. Wyatt refused at first. Cena got the crowd chanting “you suck” at Wyatt. That did it. Except it didn’t. Cena called for the bell. The Wyatts ran to the ring to avoid the count out.

-John Cena and The Uso Brothers defeated The Wyatt Family in a six-man tag. There was a triple Five Knuckle Shuffle and a double splash on Harper. There was a triple pin to send the crowd home happy to end the show.
