WWE Making Cuts, Ten Talents Given Release

Drew-McThe WWE is making cuts today with ten talents being given their release so far.  They include:

  • Drew McIntyre
  • Jinder Mahal
  • Aksana
  • Curt Hawkins
  • Theodore Long
  • Camacho
  • Brodus Clay
  • Evan Bourne
  • Yoshi Tatsu
  • referee Marc Harris

With both McIntyre and Mahal being released, that brings an end to the group 3MB.  After training in developmental for a few years, it looked like McIntyre (Drew Galloway) was on the fast-track to stardom in the WWE being called the chosen one by Vince McMahon.  While very talented, that did not catch on the audience and he fell down the card and into a lower position.  A domestic dispute with his then wife Taryn Terrell in a hotel in 2011 did not do him any favors even though she was arrested and at fault.

Hawkins has already been planning for life after wrestling having recently opened up a wrestling school in Long Island.  He is a talented performer and should be able to find spots on the indies pretty quickly.

Bourne had barely been used since 2012 following his second failure of a wellness test and him later breaking his right foot in a car accident.  He will probably find work a lot of work on the indies and could easily fit in with Ring of Honor as Matt Sydal.

Camacho was a bit of a surprise as his work with NXT seemed to be going well.  However, he had been working in developmental since 2009 and the company may not have had plans for him.

Brodus Clay had not been doing much since breaking up with Tensai last year.  There was an attempt to turn him heel and the company even used him in NXT some but it did not look like there was any really plan for him based on the way he was being used.

Aksana had been expected after injuring Naomi earlier this year breaking her orbital bone with a knee to her face.
