Chael Sonnen Receives Temporary Suspension Due To Failed Drug Test


On Tuesday, Chael Sonnen received a temporary suspension from the Nevada State Athletic Commission for a failed random drug test that was revealed last Tuesday. The Commission voted unanimously to give Sonnen the suspension.

Sonnen, who tested positive for the drugs, Anastrozole and Clomiphene was randomly tested during the weekend of UFC 173 last month. The three-time UFC title challenger was in Las Vegas for a press conference to formally announce UFC 175, which takes place on July 5.
Sonnen retired last Wednesday and was on the phone during the hearing is expected to be at a hearing a to-be-determind date to give his explanation.
