Speculation has run rampant on what the main event would be at this year’s WWE Summerslam. A Summerslam DVD cover surfaced recently that John Cena would be facing Brock Lesnar. A video surfaced last week hyping the match.
In the final segment of tonight’s WWE Monday Night Raw, Triple H initially announced that Randy Orton would be facing Cena. As Orton was walking to the ring, he was attacked by Roman Reigns and both guys battled through the crowd.
Triple H was looking dejected and out came Paul Heyman. He told HHH, “Um, Mr.COO you know how much respect I have for you, sir, and I hate to point out the obvious, but Plan A just isn’t working with Randy Orton, not while Roman Reigns is around.”
Heyman then told the WWE CEO that his plan B, Seth Rollins will never get to cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase because Dean Ambrose will never let him. Heyman then stated The Authority needs a plan C and he has the guy.
The music and hit and here came Lesnar to a loud ovation. Lesnar and Heyman circled the ring and got into the ring. After a short staredown, Heyman and HHH shook hands and then HHH shook hands with Lesnar to make the Summerslam main event official.
