“The Spider” is back.

UFC president Dana White announced moments ago on ESPN’s “Sportscenter” that former UFC middleweight champion and pound for pound king Anderson Silva will return to face Nick Diaz on January 31 in Las Vegas. It will be the main event of the show, which is expected to be billed as UFC 183. The fight will be taking place at 185 pounds. No word from White on what the venue the card will take place.

“The fight that the fans have been waiting for, the fight that the fans have been screaming for. We have made Anderson Silva vs. Nick Diaz, Jan. 31 in Las Vegas,” White said “SportsCenter.” “It will be the main event, and it will be five rounds.”

White posted a photo on Instagram with Silva as they were getting the fight signed.

Silva hasn’t fought since his fight with middleweight champion Chris Weidman at UFC 168 in December when he suffered a gruesome leg fracture. It was thought that Silva’s career could be done, but he vowed he would return and was just cleared to return recently.

Diaz signed a three fight contract extension with the company last week hasn’t fought since his UFC 158 welterweight title loss to then champion Georges St-Pierre in March of 2013.

Diaz and Silva will be looking to bounce back as they have each lost two fights in a row.
