Bellator Releases War Machine Due To Alleged Domestic Battery

Late Friday night, Bellator announced that they were releasing welterweight War Machine (real name Jon Koppenhaver). The reason of the release is due to an alleged domestic battery incident involving Koppenhaver, his girlfriend, porn star Christy Mack and another person. Bellator president Scott Coker sent out a press release confirming the release.

“We have a zero tolerance policy here at Bellator when it relates to any form of domestic violence, and after learning of this latest incident involving Jon Koppenhaver, War Machine, Bellator is releasing him from him promotional contract with the organization.”

TMZ Sports also reports that Koppenhaver is the primary suspect in the case, but hasn’t been found yet by Las Vegas Police.

Koppenhaver and Mack have been dating for the last year. Koppenhaver last tweeted early Friday morning.

Mack was supposed to appear this weekend at the Las Vegas’ South Point Hotel & Casino at the Art & Ink Festival. She released a statement on Friday saying that she wasn’t going to appearing.

Koppenhaver made his Bellator debut in June of 2013 and compiled a 2-1 record in Bellator having last competed in October of last year losing to Ron Keslar by first round submission.
