In a report from PWInsider.com, top TNA star Bully Ray is now a free agent and doesn’t expect to return to the company. On Sunday night at a house show in Hagerstown, Maryland, Bully told the wrestlers in the backstage that it was the last night of his contract and the two sides haven’t agreed to a new contract.
Bully Ray has been quite arguably the biggest star in the company for the last two years. He held the TNA heavyweight championship for a good chunk of last year until losing the title to AJ Styles at Bound For Glory last October. In 2014, Ray has been in the top storyline feuding with TNA owner Dixie Carter, which culminated in putting Carter through a table 10 days ago on an edition of Impact Wrestling.
TNA is taped through the end of September and Ray is right now involved in a storyline with him and Devon, The Wolves and The Hardy Boys. Also according to PWInsider, Devon’s contract is up sometime in the fall.
TNA announced at Slammiversary that Bully Ray and Devon will be inducted into the TNA Hall of Fame at Bound For Glory in October. No word on whether that show will be taking place due to the television contract situation with Spike TV and TNA.
