John Cena And Brock Lesnar To Headline WWE Night Of Champions

Announced during tonight’s WWE Main Event, WWE COO Triple H announced that John Cena has invoked his rematch clause and will face WWE world heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar at WWE Night of Champions.

Cena and Lesnar competed two days ago in the main event of Summerslam, with Lesnar dominating Cena to win the championship. Lesnar tossed Cena like a ragdog throughout the match including landing 16 German suplexes and two F5’s including the final one for the pinfall and the title.

Lesnar and his advocate Paul Heyman appeared on last night’s WWE Monday Night Raw and was presented with a new WWE world heavyweight championship by Triple H and Stephanie McMahon. Cena was not on the show selling the effects of the beatdown from Lesnar. He is advertised for next week’s Raw.

WWE Night of Champions takes place on Sunday, September 21 from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee. The event starts at 8 p.m. live on the WWE Network and your pay-per-view provider.
