Is The Spider Silva One of the Best MMA Fighters?

When it comes to Mixed Martial Arts, there are some fighters who are the best of the bunch. When you search online for anything, whether it is a list of the best games available at Red Flush, you get a lot of top 10 list, top 5 lists and top 3 lists. So it makes sense that whenever you search online for the best MMA fighters, you will always see one guy on the list, and his name is The Spider.

Who is “The Spider?”

“The Spider” is also known as Anderson Silva, and he is definitely one of the best (if not the best) MMA fighters in the league. Let’s get to know a little bit more about Anderson Silva. Just talking statistics wise, Anderson Silva or “The Spider” hails from the country of Brazil in South America. So far he has had only 5 losses and 34 wins. Out of his 34 wins, he has 6 tapouts, 8decisions and of course, his 20 knockouts.

He also has several different styles under his belt. He is proficient in all of them, including judo, taek-wondo, wresting, muay thai, boxing and capoeira. And now, finally we can talk about his championships. He has won Shooto, Pride FC, Cage Rage and UFC. This guy is a serious Brazilian fighter, and he’s a looker in case the ladies are interested as well. By far, his best fight has been the UFC 148 vs Chael Sonnen. That was one of the best fights in history if you ask us. Let’s look at some other stats though.

First of all, he has the longest reigning championship in history for the UFC. That’s quite an accomplishment in and of itself, but there’s definitely my where that came from too. He has taken down everyone of the fighters in the middleweight division of the UFC. A lot of people say that in the ring, he’s pretty clowny, but as you can see judging by his wins, knockouts and other amazing stats, who cares if he can be a clown? He wins fights!

So is he the best of the best?

This is a question that comes up a lot when talking about The Spider or Anderson Silva. Is he the best and will he remain the longest training champion in UFC history? It’s certainly a good question, and most professionals would say that yes, at this current stage, he is the best. But other people would say that there have been rumors that he uses steroids, and he did suffer a broken leg (actually on live TV amazingly enough), so only time will tell if he manages to keep his amazing status as best in the world of MMA.
