WWE Friday Night Smackdown Spoilers For Friday April 25, 2014

smackdown

WWE Friday Night Smackdown tapings took place last night in Hershey, Pennsylvania. The show will air on Friday night on the SyFy channel starting at 8 p.m. ET. Here is what happened at the tapings.

The show opened with Vickie Guerrero announcing the Authority had the night off and The Shield would have another 3 on 11 match. She set a debate between Paul Heyman and Zeb Colter. Heyman used most of his time to talk about Brock Lesnar. Zeb and Heyman argued until it was broken up.

-Cesaro (w/Paul Heyman) beat Jack Swagger (w/Zeb Colter). Cesaro pinned Swagger with the Neutralizer. Cesaro was getting face reactions. The Shield hit the ring after the match and took out Swagger with the Superman punch and a Triple Powerbomb. They said Swagger didn’t adapt. It looks like they will be doing this all night, as they said they weren’t done.

-Tamina defeated Natalya. Tamina dominated most of the match and got the pin after a superkick.

The Shield took out 3MB backstage. Triple H called Vickie and told her to take the night off. Brad Maddox showed up and said he’d take care of it.

-Curtis Axel pinned Jey Uso. Axel won with a swinging neckbreaker. Very flat match.

The cage lowered and the Wyatt Family came to the ring. Bray Wyatt said John Cena was losing his people and it’s their fault for what happened. He received a big pop, especially from a Hershey crowd, which has always been pro Cena. He ended by singing on top of the cage.

-Erick Rowan and Luke Harper defeated Cody Rhodes and Goldust. Cody was on the top rope and Goldust was pushed into him and he flew off.

The Shield attacked Brad Maddox in the GM office… Santino and Emma came to the ring, followed by Fandango and Layla. The Shield stopped Fandango on the stage and have him the Triple Powerbomb off the stage.

-The Shield defeated Ryback, Titus O’Neil, Damien Sandow, Alberto Del Rio, and Bad News Barrett in a handicap match. Barrett was protected and ran off, but The Shield took out everyone and got a decent reaction. This concluded the Smackdown television taping.

After the taping, The Shield fought The Wyatt Family, but it was not an actual match.

The Good, The Bad And The Dirty From Last Night’s WWE Monday Night Raw

bryanlaugh

The buildup to Extreme Rules continued last night on WWE Monday Night Raw from Baltimore, Maryland. Some of the highlights of the show included the return of WWE World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan, the latest in the ongoing saga’s of Evolution vs The Shield and John Cena vs Bray Wyatt. Their were good and bad points of the show, so here is the good, the bad and the dirty from last night’s show.

The Good

1) Sheamus vs Wade Barrett: A really good, physical match in the semifinals to determine the number one contender for the Intercontinental Championship. It was really good to see WWE give Barrett a clean win over a top guy in Shemaus. It was weird to see the company not play up the Sheamus knee injury from last week and went this route instead. Now let’s see WWE give Barrett a sustained push as he does have the fan support behind him and the talent to back it up.

2) Evolution/The Shield segment: Was good to see WWE play old clips of Evolution for the newer fans of wrestling, even though it was weird to see Ric Flair in the clips and he isn’t involved with the group at this time. Some people were down on Seth Rollins with his talking points, but he is improving each time he is handed the microphone including last night. Liked how when The Shield were walking up the ramp to get to Evolution, the same eleven fighters came out to protect the group. Very smart to keep The Shield from getting their hands on the group until the event. A simple, yet effective build.

The Bad

1) Emma and Santino Marella: This is bad and needs to end immediately. It has been a waste of Emma’s time as she should have been put in the Divas division right when she debuted. With the skill set of Marella, it is a shame that he has never been given a serious role within the company. Simulated arm sleeve makeout session? Pass

The Dirty

1) Kane brutalizes Daniel Bryan: WWE had announced earlier in the day that Bryan’s dad had passed away at the age of 57. It was rough to see him come out when Raw opened up as you can tell he just wanted to cry. This was a smart move by the company they made Kane from someone no cares about to a serious threat to Bryan in one segment. Really liked the use of Brie Bella and the fact a tombstone piledriver was used three times in different areas outside the ring. The move isn’t used often and when it is, it should be used in spots like this. It definitely sold some pay-per-views and subscribers to the WWE Network.

Orton says that it just takes one moment to realize who is the most dominant group of all time. We then get a video package of the history of Evolution. Batista then asks if the people get it now. He says their is 31 titles between the 3 of them. He says the Shield have no idea what they have gotten in too, and out comes the Shield. The Shield enter the ring and Evolution immediately retreats.

Ambrose says that last week wasn’t the first time they have been beaten up, and it won’t be the last. He asks if they look humbled. Ambrose says that their is a reason they hired them to protect HHH and Orton. He says that they are the meanest, most feared group. He says their is no doubt they are angry. Rollins then grabs the mic from Ambrose. Rollins says that they have every right to be angry. He says that come Extreme Rules, they will only be looking out for themselves instead of a united team. Rollins says reforming Evolution was putting a nail in their own coffin, and they are the hammer to nail it in. Reigns then says that they will come down to that ramp when he drops the mic and beat their asses. He then says they can either fight, or be cowards. The Shield come down and out come 10 or so heels. Triple H says they can fight all they have to do is come to them. The Shield say they aren’t stupid and both groups have a stare down.

We return with Renee Young interviewing John Cena. Renee asks how he feels about the situation that was put on him tonight. He says that we will find out if the fans listen to Bray or not. He says that he knows whats happening with the fans, and that Bray may really have the whole world in his hands. He says that tonight his objective is to simply survive. He tells Bray he should never count him out.

Fifth Match: Second Round Match in the Intercontinental Championship #1 Contenders Tournament Cesaro w/Paul Heyman vs. Rob Van Dam Cesaro and Van Dam lock up, with both men reversing each others moves. Cesaro eats a kick to the head, but then hits a backbreaker for a two count. RVD gets up and hits a springboard kick to the head. Cesaro reverses a kick and goes for a suplex. Cesaro is in control as we head to commercial break.

We return to Raw with Cesaro still in control. RVD gets out of a headlock and goes for a sunset flip, but Cesaro reverses it. Cesaro then lifts RVD from the ground and hits a gut wrench slam for a two count. Cesaro begins to stomp on RVD’s face, and then lays in an uppercut in the corner. Cesaro then hits a second rope elbow and follows it with a pinfall. RVD kicks out at 2 and is immediately put in a headlock. RVD fights out and hits a kick to the head on Cesaro. RVD then begins his comeback on Cesaro, which is followed by Rolling Thunder. RVD goes for the cover but only gets a two count. RVD goes up top for the 5 star but Cesaro hits a big uppercut! After the match Cesaro and Jack Swagger get into a brawl.

Winner: Rob Van Dam by Countout

Cesaro and Heyman come up to RVD in the back and say Colter and Swagger won that match for Van Dam. Rob suggests Cesaro stay as far away from Heyman as possible.

Sixth Match: Paige vs. Aksana

The announcers immediately start hyping up Tamina as a tough Diva as Paige throws Aksana across the ring by the hair a few times. Aksana comes back with some choking and throws Paige down as the announcers make fun of Aksana’s very notable tan. She crawls around on the mat but Paige slams her into the mat over and over again to take over. A series of clotheslines has Aksana in trouble but she comes back with a throw, apparently supposed to be a spinebuster. Paige comes back with a guillotine choke and some knees to the head, setting up the Scorpion Cross Lock for the submission.

Winner: Paige

Seventh Match: Alexander Rusev w/Lana vs. Sin Cara

Cara fires off his chops but gets caught in mid air, setting up the knees against the ropes and fall away slam to the masked man. Some jumping knees in the corner drop Sin Cara as Lana is very pleased. Sin Cara actually gets two off a sunset flip and staggers the Bulgarian with a Tajiri elbow. A kick to the head and missile dropkick put Rusev in the corner but Alexander just runs him over. An overhead suplex drops Sin Cara and the Accolade gets the submission.

Winner: Alexander Rusev

Eight Match: John Cena vs. The Wyatt Family

The Wyatts surround the ring to start before all three charge the ring at the same time. Cena is down so Bray calls them off as the bell rings. Harper gets us going and drives elbows into the back of Cena’s head to keep control. Off to Rowan who whips Cena into the corner but gets caught in a fallaway slam and it’s off to Bray. The leader of the Family dances with Cena for a bit before screaming loudly.

Back to Harper who gets caught by a Stinger Splash but runs John over with a hard elbow to the jaw. Cena muscles Harper over with a German suplex but Luke tags Rowan back in for more stomping. Harper quickly gets another tag but is almost caught in an STF. Rowan makes a fast save and Harper stays in to send Cena hard into the steps. Bray looks down and we take a break.

We come back to see Cena missing a cross body and falling out to the floor. John comes back in and runs over Harper but Bray easily counters a tornado DDT by PLANTING him with a release Rock Bottom. He hammers away and sends Cena shoulder first into the post. A headbutt rams Cena’s head into the steel again before Rowan comes back in to crush Cena’s skull a bit more.

John fights back but it’s back to Bray who loads up the spider walk. Thankfully Cena realizes how easy this is and runs him over with a clothesline to start his comeback. Cena starts his finishing sequence and hits the AA on Bray, only to have the Family come in and attack Cena to which causes a DQ

Winner: John Cena

Post match the Wyatts beat Cena down and Bray hits Sister Abigail. He says in time, all things come to light before singing a bit more with his hand on Cena’s face to end the show.

What To Expect On Tonight’s WWE Monday Night Raw

RAW logo black

WWE Monday Night Raw comes back tonight as it takes place at the Baltimore Arena in Baltimore, Maryland. The end of last week’s show featured Evolution reforming and took out The Shield. The show also featured the beginning of the Intercontinental Tournament to determine a number one contender and the Kane going back to his old devil ways wanting to take out WWE World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan. What can we expect on tonight’s show?

Bryan does return to the show tonight after his wedding ten days ago to Brie Bella and their subsequent honeymoon. It does look like that we are towards a Bryan vs Kane title program for Extreme Rules in two weeks. Will be interesting to see how they get there, but would assume that Kane takes out Bryan on the show to lead to the title match or possibly do something to Bella to get the match.

Triple H, Randy Orton and Batista reformed Evolution last week and gave The Shield a beatdown with all three guys hitting their finishers on the young trio. It was announced on Smackdown by the COO that a six man tag would be taking place at Extreme Rules. The Shield does need to come back strong tonight against the reformed group.

Two matches have been announced as the semifinal matches take place to determine the number one contender for IC title as Rob Van Dam takes on Cesaro and Sheamus battles Bad News Barrett. One would assume that Cesaro beats Van Dam and Barrett gets by Sheamus as the WWE is building up both guys.

WWE Monday Raw airs on the USA Network starting at 8 p.m. ET.

WWE Friday Night SmackDown Results From April 18, 2014

smackdown-1841076WWE SmackDown
April 18, 2014
Bridgestone Arena
Nashville, Tennessee

First In-Ring Segment: Here’s HHH to get things going. He says part of his job is to find new talent that can truly succeed in the WWE. At the top of that list, there is no one higher than the Shield. Ambrose, Rollins and Reigns are three of the most talented guys he’s seen come along in years so he gave them power.

Maybe it was too much though because they tried to see how far that power can take you on your own. When you set out on the journey to find that line in the sand, make sure you don’t cross it. The Shield found that line and on Monday they crossed it. We get a clip from the end of Raw with Evolution taking out the Shield to end the show in a huge beatdown.

HHH told Cole on Wednesday that he was willing to allow Shield to give an apology and put everything behind them. All he got was silence though, save for a response from Roman Reigns. Roman said that soldiers win wars instead of soldiers. That’s a great line for a movie, but it’s not reality. In reality, soldiers are the currency on which empires are bought and sold. The Shield has lost their value and while it hurts HHH to destroy what he created, he’ll do just that at Extreme Rules. In life you adapt or perish, and that’s Evolution. He announces that the Shield will take on Evolution at Extreme Rules.

First Match: Alberto Del Rio vs. Big E

We get an inset interview with Big E. saying he’d love to face anyone. He’s also been in a pop, lock and drop it competition in Tampa. Big E. runs Del Rio over and gets a quick one to start but Alberto fights out of the triple backbreaker. A running enziguri in the corner is good for two on the champion before he charges into Del Rio’s boots in the corner.

Del Rio stomps away but misses a charge into the corner to give Big E. a breather. The announcers talk about past IC Champions as Big E. runs Del Rio over a few more times. Big E. hits a belly to belly into the Warrior Splash, only to have Alberto get his knees up. Back from a break with both guys getting back in the ring but Big E. charging into the post.

A DDT gets two on Big E. but he catches Del Rio diving off the top in a backbreaker. Now the Warrior Splash connects and there go the straps. The Big Ending is countered into a Backstabber for a close two but Big E. blocks the armbreaker and makes the rope. Del Rio won’t break it though and that’s a DQ

Winner: Big E by DQ

Post match Del Rio loads up the superkick but walks into the Big Ending.

Tonight after SmackDown on the WWE Network, There will be a special edition of the Legends of WrestleMania show hosted by Josh Matthews and special guest will be Booker T, Sgt Slaughter, and Ted DiBiase and they will discuss the passing of the late great Ultimate Warrior

We get a vignette for upcoming NXT Superstar Bo Dallas

Second In-Ring Segment:Paul Heyman comes out and brags over and over about how Brock Lesnar broke the Streak, then he gloats and takes a bow.

Second Match: Paige vs. Aksana

Before the match, Tamina says she’s taking the title at Extreme Rules. Before the match Aksana insults Paige and says everyone is jealous of her despite Paige just getting lucky. She jumps the champion and there’s the bell, only to have Paige go off on Aksana in the corner. They head outside where Aksana nails a hard clothesline followed by that release spinebuster of hers inside. She doesn’t cover though and rubs Paige’s face in the mat for two instead. We hit a reverse chinlock for a bit until Aksana needs to crawl around the ring. A running cross body puts Paige down but Aksana can’t follow up either. Paige fights back and hits a running dropkick followed by the scorpion crosslock for the submission.

Winner: Paige

Renee Young interviewed Sheamus, he said that he is ready to get his payback on Batista

Third Match: El Torito w/Los Matadores vs. Hornswoggle w/3MB

The announcers play this as a total joke so let’s get this over with. They shove each other around to start until Torito runs him over a few times, sending Horny to the apron. The leprechaun rocker sends him head first into the middle buckle and drops a bottom rope Banzai Drop. A hard clothesline and splash get two for Horny and we hit the horn lock. Seriously. Horny plays some air guitar and gets rolled up for two. Just end this thing already. Please. Torito comes back with a Gore and Bronco Bustero followed by a top rope moonsault for the pin.

Bad News Barrett rips on the previous match and blames the audience for what we just saw.

Fourth Match: Alexander Rusev w/Lana vs. R-Truth

Truth actually gets in some offense such as a middle rope dropkick but Little Jimmy is caught in midair. The superkick and fall away slam set up the Accolade for the submission for Rusev.

Winner: Alexander Rusev

We get a recap of the WWE’s tribute of the Ultimate Warrior on Monday Night Raw

Fifth Match: Fandango w/Layla vs. Santino Marella w/Emma

Santino does a slow motion kick to the leg for no apparent reason so Fandango hammers him in the head. Fandango misses a charge though and Santino comes back with the usual schtick. Layla steals the Cobra sock so Santino sunset flips Fandango for the pin.

Winner: Santino Marella

Sixth Match: Batista vs. Sheamus

Batista pulls him to the floor to start and the brawl is on early. Sheamus takes him back inside and cranks on the arm before nailing the ten forearms. A running knee puts Batista on the floor and we take our last breakBack with Batista kicking the steps into Sheamus to take over. More power offense keeps Batista in control and a powerslam gets two. Sheamus throws him to the floor for a breather and sends Batista shoulder first into the post.

A Batista Bomb is broken up and another knee lift rocks the Animal. Ten lame looking forearms to the chest set up the battering ram for two. The Irish Curse gets two but Sheamus can’t hook the Cloverleaf. Batista ducks the Brogue Kick and heads outside before another kick misses inside. Spear gets two on Sheamus but he backdrops out of the Batista Bomb. He goes up top but gets crotched onto the top rope, setting up the Bomb for the pin.

Winner: Batista

The Good, The Bad And The Dirty From Last Night’s WWE Monday Night Raw

Photo from WWE.com

Photo from WWE.com

WWE Monday Night Raw took place in Birmingham, Alabama. The show followed last week’s show, which featured the coronation of Daniel Bryan as the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion and an epic Paul Heyman promo regarding Brock Lesnar’s win against The Undertaker at Wrestlemania 30. How would WWE follow up after quite arguably the best Raw of 2014?

The Good

1) Bray Wyatt Promo: Thank god Wyatt was out there with John Cena because if it was anybody else, this segment would have been in the gutter. Cena was being Cena and goofing off about how each member of the family would look if they were somebody else and then made of fun of Bray referring to him in a Cinnabon type of manner. Loved how Bray was able to turn it around and say when Cena feels threatened he makes corny jokes, which in turn made Cena get serious and that’s when he is at his best.

2) Number One Contender Tournament For The Intercontinental Title: Smart move by WWE as they have to start making these mid-card titles feel important. The IC title used to be held in high prestige, but in the last 15 years it hasn’t felt important at all. We seen some good first round matches on the show and this is a good way to give more guys something meaningful.

The Bad

3) Daniel Bryan and Kane program: If this was the title program one year ago, this would have been a better idea. Why would you go with this program? Kane regaining his mask and becoming a monster would have worked ten years ago, but now, not so much. The matches between these two in the past have been average at best. Common thought would have been Triple H vs Bryan for the title as that is still a hot program based off what those two did at Wrestlemania and last week’s Raw. Let’s just hope this lasts until Extreme Rules and we get to more serious challengers.

4) The Return of Evolution: You could tell what the world was thinking as soon as their music hit and the crowd was flatter than a pancake. When I think of top factions, Evolution doesn’t even register in my mind. I respect all three guys, but they are more known for their individual feats than for being together. Obviously the premise here is to get The Shield over, so hopefully this is another program that lasts one month and it is done.

The Dirty

5) The Ultimate Warrior Tribute: Even seven days later, it is still weird to think Warrior isn’t alive. The tribute video was well done as no one does a video package like the WWE. Also liked the fact that you had all the superstars on the ramp and even Vince McMahon up there. Then you had a few superstars who had Warrior shirts and facepaint on. Very classy tribute by a company who had their trials and tribulations with Warrior throughout the years.

Del Rio then is thrown out of the ring while RVD poses in the ring. Del Rio gets back in the ring and tries to fight back, but RVD stays in control. Del Rio then reverses an Irish whip into the corner into a kick to the arm of Van Dam. Del Rio then hits a suplex and is now in complete control. Del Rio then is launched over the top rope. RVD goes for a moonsault on the apron, but Del Rio moves out of the way. RVD lands on his feet but Del Rio hits him with a clothesline. What To Expect On Tonight’s WWE Monday Night Raw

bryand

Tonight’s WWE Monday Night Raw takes place in Birmingham, Alabama. We are one week removed from a historic show as we saw Daniel Bryan appear as the WWE World Heavyweight Champion, The Shield aligning with the champion, an epic promo by Paul Heyman on Brock Lesnar ending “The Streak” and Cesaro being the new Paul Heyman guy. What can we expect on tonight’s show?

The show tonight will feature a tribute to The Ultimate Warrior, who passed away this past Tuesday at the age of 54. I wouldn’t expect it to be just a whole show showing his best matches and things like that. Expect to see various WWE personal and talent to have video interviews with their thoughts on Warrior and clips of some of his greatest WWE moments.

Would also expect to see the top matches made for Extreme Rules, which takes in three weeks from the Izod Center in East Rutherford, New Jersey. From the way Raw ended last week, I would go with Bryan vs Triple H in the main event and the top underneath match by The Shield vs Kane, Randy Orton and Batista. Their was an ad that came out from the Izod Center over the weekend saying John Cena will be facing Bray Wyatt in an “extreme match”, so we will see if that gets made tonight as well.

Think we will see Cesaro and Paul Heyman continue to feud with Jack Swagger and Zeb Coulter to lead to a match at an Extreme Rules. The Cesaro/Heyman pairing is the best thing to happen to Cesaro as now he doesn’t have to talk and let Heyman do that aspect for him.

WWE Monday Night Raw starts at 8 p.m. ET on the USA Network.

WWE Friday Night SmackDown Results From April 11, 2014

20140408_SD_6ManTag_LARGE_CWWE SmackDown
April 11, 2014
Cajun Dome
Lafayette, Louisiana

We open with the In Memory graphic for Warrior. Cole does a voiceover offering condolences to his fans and announces that Raw will be a tribute show.

First Segment:Here’s John Cena to get things going. Cena says the fans sound tired but he asks if they’re ready to go. Wrestlemania XXX started with the most iconic moment John Cena has ever seen with Hogan, Rock and Austin standing together in the middle of the ring. Cena lists off some other highlights from the show before getting to Bray Wyatt. Bray tried to turn a man into a monster but he still can’t see Cena.

We also saw the Streak broken, but then we saw the Game get played and a NEW WWE Champion. That was just Wrestlemania, because everything really went down on Raw. We turned Silver into Super, believed in the Shield, found out that Brock Lesnar was the one and heard the WWE Universe change his theme music. On top of that, on Monday John Cena was taught to Bo-Lieve, found out what you need to have a party, saw a big man named Alexander Rusev and the Divas division finally turned the Paige.Cena lists off various nicknames and says he’s none of those things. He’s the standard bearer and measuring stick. If someone wants to stand on top of the WWE mountain, they have to go through him to get there.

We all should embrace our differences and now he can’t stop smiling after losing at Wrestlemania. He feels so good because he saw that Cena isn’t hollow inside. Bray sees a lot of things inside himself and is thrilled because Cena is just one push away from becoming a monster. Wyatt will have to go to further extremes to make Cena because that monster, so hang on because this ride is just starting. He’s got the whole world in his hands.

First Match: Cesaro w/Paul Heyman vs. The Big Show

Heyman does Cesaro’s intro and the King of Swing comes out without music. Paul brags about guiding Lesnar to a victory over Undertaker and says how it allowed him to pick the next big thing in Cesaro. They shake hands to start as Heyman joins commentary. Cesaro bounces off Big Show and falls to the floor. A loud chop knocks Cesaro off the apron but he gets back inside and tries to suplex Big Show from the apron. That goes as well as you would expect and Big Show suplexes him to the floor, only to have Cesaro land on his feet. He tries a sunset bomb but Show sits on his chest to crush Cesaro against the apron for two. Cesaro bails from the KO Punch and has a meeting with Heyman. Paul’s advice: take his air.

Back from a break with Show charging into a boot in the corner and getting caught in a sleeper.Show drives him into the corner to break but misses a charge and gets put in the sleeper again. The giant shakes him off again and runs Cesaro over, only to have the chokeslam countered into a third sleeper. Heyman actually gives us some backstory by saying he had given Cesaro the advice that won him the battle royal. Big Show misses a middle rope splash and Cesaro loads up the Swing, only to have Jack Swagger run in for the DQ .

After the match Show cleans house but gets caught by some uppercuts from Cesaro, setting up the Neutralizer to a gasp from the crowd.

Winner: Cesaro by DQ

Second Match: Los Matadores w/El Torito vs. Rybaxel

The announcers talk about being Bo-Lievers despite no vignette airing.  Ryback throws Diego around to start but gets caught by a dropkick. Not that it has much effect though as Ryback powerslams Diego down for two before tagging Axel in for the first time. A clothesline to the back of the head gets two and it’s back to Ryback who gets two off a clothesline of his own. We hit the chinlock for a bit before a charge in the corner gets two on Diego.

Back to the chinlock from Ryback as this has been one sided so far. Diego fights up and makes the tag to Fernando for almost no reaction at all. Fernando cleans house and gets two on Axel with a leg trip DDT. Torito dives onto Ryback but gets caught in midair, only for Fernando to make the save. The distraction lets Axel hit his neckbreaker into a cutter for the pin

Winner: Rybaxel

Renee Young interviews Rob Van Dam backstage,Van Dam says stuff is changing but it’s cool when you’re RVD.

Third Match: Rob Van Dam vs. Damien Sandow

Sandow elbows him in the jaw to start but gets his head kicked off for his efforts. Rob poses but gets rolled up for two, only to get caught by Rolling Thunder. Another kick to the face sends him into the barricade but he comes back with some shots to the knee. Wind-Up Elbow gets two on Rob but he comes back with a rollup and another kick. Sandow breaks up the Five Star but gets shoved off when trying a superplex, setting up the Five Star for the pin.

Winner: Rob Van Dam

We got a vignette for the debuting Adam Rose

We get a commercial promoting WrestleMania 31 on March 29, 2015 in Santa Clara, California

Second In-Ring Segment: It’s Hogan time. Hulk praises Daniel Bryan’s performance at Wrestlemania and says he turned it into Yes-tlemania. The sight of Bryan holding both titles up gave him chills, so here’s Bryan in person. Daniel wants to tell the Hulkster something: this has been the best week of his life. He’s getting married soon and he just won the title in the main event of Wrestlemania.

Daniel talks about growing up watching wrestling and seeing Hogan as the biggest star in the world. He prayed every night to be able to main event Wrestlemania and took his vitamins to get 24 inch pythons. Bryan has been a Hulkamaniac since before he can remember but there’s one thing that would make it even better. He asks for Hogan’s music to be played and the posing begins.

Fourth Match: Bad News Barrett vs. Kofi Kingston

Barrett does the catchphrase to start but gets kicked down for his efforts. Some more kicks have the same effect and the Boom Drop connects for good measure. Bad News bails from Trouble in Paradise before laying out Kofi with the Bull Hammer for the pin.

Winner: Bad News Barrett

We get a video package of WWE thanking the WWE Universe for their support over the years.

Fifth Match: Santino Marella w/Emma vs. Fandango w/Layla

Apparently Fandango has dumped Summer Rae and replaced her with Layla. Not a bad trade. Santino hammers away to start as the announcers talk about the dictionary. The hiptoss looks to set up the Cobra but Layla steals the sock, allowing Fandango to grab a rollup for the pin

Winner: Fandango

We get a recap  of the end of Raw with Shield officially turning face by attacking HHH and his pals.

On Main Event, Shield said they were prepared for war with the Authority’s injustice.

Back live with Kane telling Batista and Orton that they need to put their differences aside and fight their common enemies. He wants Bryan for himself but Orton and Batista both want him for themselves. Kane says that’s what’s wrong with thembecause they all need each other.

Sixth Match: Daniel Bryan & The Usos vs. Kane, Batista and Randy Orton

Batista shoves Jimmy into the corner to start as we hear about HHH battling with Shield over Twitter. Off to the injured Jey who takes a shot to his bad ribs as the heels take over. Orton comes in and stomps away before ripping off the tape. We take a break and come back with Kane knocking Jey out of the air with an uppercut for two. Back to Orton for a catapult into the bottom rope and another two count.

Randy shrugs off a chop and dropkicks Jey down before tagging Kane back in again. That goes nowhere so here’s Orton again for a chinlock with a body vice followed by the powerslam for two. Daniel offers a distraction though and Jey nails a Samoan drop. Kane can’t break up the hot tag and it’s hot tag to the World Champion. Bryan kicks Kane to the floor for the FLYING GOAT before the Usos dive on the other heels as well. The brawl continues on the floor and it’s a double countout.

Winner: Match ended in a Double Countout

Top Moments In The Career Of The Ultimate Warrior

warrior wwe title

Last night the wrestling world lost a legend, as The Ultimate Warrior passed away at the age of 54. He is survived by his Dana and two daughters. Warrior was a former WWE Champion and a two-time Intercontinental Champion. He was a one of a kind, larger than life character inside the squared circle. We will now take a look back at the top moments in the career of The Ultimate Warrior.

1) WWE Debut: Warrior made his WWE debut on October 25, 1987 against Terry Gibbs on edition of Wrestling Challenge. He came down to the ring walking with no entrance and shook the ropes and went to the turnbuckles once he entered the ring. During the middle of the match on the upper left screen, Warrior cut an inspirational promo telling fans to jump on his back and come along for the ride. Warrior used the power press slam and splash to squash Gibbs in his debut.

2) Winning the Intercontinental Championship for the first time: Summerslam 1988 took place on August 29 from Madison Square Garden in New York City as Intercontinental Champion, The Honky Tonk Man was scheduled to defend his title against Brutus “The Barber” Beefcake. The challenger was unable to compete that night and was looking for a new challenger and was willing to defend the title against anyone. After a few moments, Warrior’s music hit and the crowd exploded as he ran to the ring. 31 seconds into the match, Warrior won his first singles title of his career.

3) “Crash The Plane” Promo: The one thing Warrior was known for very well were his inspirational promos. The biggest match WWE could make in 1990 was Warrior vs Hulk Hogan. “The Hulkster” was the star of the WWE and the Heavyweight Champion of the world and Warrior was the Intercontinental Champion and they were going to square off at Wrestlemania VI. In the buildup to the match, Warrior cut my favorite promo in his career in the build to the match.

4) Winning the WWE Championship vs Hulk Hogan At Wrestlemania VI: This was the biggest match in the WWE since Hogan beat Andre the Giant at Wrestlemania III in 1987. Hogan and Warrior were to battle in the main event of Wrestlemania VI at the Skydome in Toronto, Ontario, Canada in a title vs title match as Hogan was the WWE Champion and Warrior was the IC Champion. At this time you had never seen a babyface vs babyface main event at a Wrestlemania. In front of over 67,000 Warrior defeated to Hogan to the win the title and was the first person to ever defeat Hogan clean in WWE. The passing of the torch took place after the match ended as Hogan gave Warrior the belt and then hugged.

5) Wrestlemania VII Match vs “Macho Man” Randy Savage: This is the one match from Warrior’s career that everyone forgets for some reason. He had lost the WWE title to Sgt. Slaughter at the January 1991 Royal Rumble due to interference from Savage. The match at Wrestlemania VII was where the loser to had to retire from the WWE. In what was in my mind the best match of Warrior’s career he defeated Savage in an epic match.

6) WCW Debut: At this time Warrior hadn’t been seen since the middle of 1996 when he parted ways with the WWE. WCW was starting to lose “The Monday Night Wars” to WWE and needed something to them some momentum. So in August of 1998, Warrior made his WCW debut interrupting a promo being done by Hogan. This was by the far the best promo he did in WCW and the last great promo Warrior cut in his in-ring wrestling career.

7) 2014 WWE Hall of Fame Ceremony: Warrior was the first person to be announced into the 2014 WWE Hall of Fame. People were speculating how he was going to be and what he was going to say. For most of his 40 minute speech, he stayed composed and delivered a very good speech. He came out arm in arm with his two daughters and at times during his speech, talked about how much he cared and loved his family. There were a couple moments where you can tell he was disappointed in how he was thought of in his career, but you can tell how much he loved his career and the fans.

Let us know your thoughts and if there is anything else you would include.

The Good, The Bad And The Dirty From Last Night’s WWE Monday Night Raw

Photo from WWE.com

Photo from WWE.com

Last night’s Raw was the first one since Wrestlemania 30 on Sunday where we saw Daniel Bryan won the WWE World Heavyweight Title and “The Streak” was ended when Brock Lesnar defeated The Undertaker. As we stated earlier, the show ended drawing the highest rating since July of 2012 and higher than the last two post-Mania Raw numbers. Here is the good, the bad and the dirty of last night’s show.

The Good

1) Opening segment: This couldn’t have come off any better as Bryan came out to cut a promo. The crowd treated him as a major star and was unbelievable to see how long the crowd sustained the chant and you can tell Bryan was overtaken by the moment. Was cool to see Bryan thank the fans for what they did for him. Triple H and Stephanie McMahon came out at the perfect time and had tremendous heat. HHH right now is doing some of the best work of his career and really is putting over Bryan.

2) Six man tag match: Very good match between the six guys and was the right move for Bray to score the pinfall. The crowd was really into Wyatt’s as they were chanting “Let’s Go Wyatt and Let’s Go Harper”. The fans absolutely detested Cena unlike the night before and Sheamus played off the booing real well. Wasn’t a real fan of Big E taking the pin though as he has been getting pinned often lately and would have rather seen Sheamus take the fall as it would have meant a little more.

3) Final Segment: I had seen all night after the opening segment that fans were worried on social media that HHH was going to defeat Bryan and win the title. Really liked how WWE kept Randy Orton and Batista strong and beating up Bryan until Kane came out and gave him a chokeslam. I did think for a small moment that HHH was going to pin Bryan when he walked down to the ring. You could see The Shield coming out and defending Bryan when Stephanie was talking to The Shield. I had goosebumps when we seen the four vs four showdown as you can see that it’s the old guard vs the new guard. If I had to guess today, it will be a Bryan vs HHH title match and The Shield vs Kane, Batista and Orton at Extreme Rules.

The Bad

4) Nothing: Usually when you watch a show, you can find something wrong with it. With this show you really couldn’t. Even the things that didn’t involve top level even had a purpose. WWE hit the reset button here and this was the best way to go forward.

The Dirty

5) Brock Lesnar/Paul Heyman Promo: The wrestling world was unglued when Lesnar defeated The Undertaker at Wrestlemania. The key was going to be the followup to the match. Heyman cut perhaps the best promo ever done by a manager. If you had any doubts about “The Streak”, they should have been wiped away with this promo. Lesnar regained all the momentum he had seemed to lose in the buildup and even his return. Lesnar had great facial expressions by playing to his shirt, snarling and growling. Looks like Lesnar will be taking a little bit of a hiatus and be fresh for a summer run.

The Good, The Bad And The Dirty From WWE Wrestlemania 30

wrestlemaniaoriginal

WWE Wrestlemania 30 took place last night from the Mercedes Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana. In the main event, Daniel Bryan defeated Randy Orton and Batista to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. The show featured “The Streak” ending as Brock Lesnar defeating The Undertaker and John Cena defeating Bray Wyatt.

As we do after every Monday Night Raw, let’s give our the good, the bad and the dirty from the biggest wrestling event of the year.

The Good

1) The Main Event: This was the ending that everybody was wanting with 75,000 people chanting YES! The match delivered as all three guys came off really well and got the crowd behind them as they were still reeling from The Undertaker loss to Brock Lesnar. Really liked the added wrinkle of Triple H and Stephanie McMahon coming from the crowd and the stretcher spot was well executed. The only shocking thing was the fact Batista was the guy Bryan submitted, but that was the right move as it means more since that’s Batista’s first defeat since coming back in January. The Daniel Bryan Era now begins!

2) The Opening Segment featuring Hulk Hogan, The Rock and Steve Austin: This was definitely my favorite moment of the night and was the best way to open the show. You had the three biggest stars in our generation in the same ring at the same time. Was a cool moment when Austin and Hogan the staredown as goosebumps were running down my body when that happened and a great moment when they shook hands. It was very symbolic to see The Rock acknowledge what Austin and Hogan did for him at previous WrestleMania’s. Good to see all three acknowledge the current WWE stars and then do the catchphrases and drinking beer in the ring.

3) Daniel Bryan vs Triple H: We had stated all week that this match should start the show. The story building to the match was done to perfection. Thought it was a very good video package showing the career of Bryan leading into the match. The match started with a slow build and was well paced throughout. Stephanie McMahon was very good here making comments at Bryan in certain points in the match. The crowd was very into the match and was good to HHH take the pin with the buskai knee. The post-match attack was the most logical to sell the fact that maybe Bryan wouldn’t compete in the main event or at the very least not be 100% going into the match.

The Bad

4) Divas Invitational: Felt really bad for the ladies here as they had to follow the Lesnar/Taker match. The crowd was flat and really didn’t care about it whatsoever. The match was a total mess as you had 14 women in there when it would been better having four at the absolute most. The finish was at least correct with AJ Lee retaining the title.

The Dirty

5) The Streak Ending: No one and I mean NO ONE so this coming. When the referee hit the mat for the three count, it seemed like the world was ending. People were ready to stop watching WWE, wanting to break their TV’s, etc. The match wasn’t nothing to get excited about even down the stretch with the near falls as no one was believing that “The Streak” would end. At the end of the day, this was the best move for business and give WWE and The Undertaker credit for pulling the trigger on this.
