UFC 168: Anderson Silva Being Stretchered Out Of The Octagon With A Horrific Leg Injury (Video)

Moments ago in the main event of UFC 168, Chris Weidman defeated Anderson Silva to retain the UFC Middleweight Championship.

In the opening parts of the second round, Silva throws a leg kick, Weidman checks it and then Silva’s legcracks and Silva lands in a heap with referee Herb Dean stopping the fight.

The UFC will be holding a press conference at 6 p.m. ET, which you can see live here on BetweenTheRopes.com in the video at the top of the page.

Speculation has been running rampant on what the announcement could be. It could be the formal announcement of the UFC digital network or the rumored return of former UFC Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar. UFC President Dana White CEO Lorenzo Fertitta will be there for the announcement.

UFC 168: Will Brock Lesnar Return Tonight?

Rumors have been running rampant all week that former UFC Heavyweight Champion and current WWE star Brock Lesnar could be returning to company. Speculation is running wild that he is in Las Vegas for the fight’s tonight.

UFC President Dana White has been coy all week long regarding a possible Lesnar return. No word from Lesnar’s camp at this time.

The WWE Return Date For Batista Set

We had reported on Saturday that information had leaked regarding the return of former WWE heavyweight champion Dave Batista. We now have a return date for Batista.

The WWE announced during the first hour of tonight’s Monday Night Raw that “The Animal” will return on the January 20th Raw. That edition of Raw will take place from the Nutter Center in Dayton, Ohio.

UFC 168 Video: Ronda Rousey Submits Miesha Tate

The top two fights for UFC 168 on Saturday night are rematches as Anderson Silva looks to regain the middleweight title against Chris Weidman. In the co-feature, Ronda Rousey defends her UFC women’s bantamweight title against Miesha Tate.

Rousey and Tate squared off the first time under the Strikeforce banner in March of 2012, with Rousey submitting Tate in the first round by armbar to win the Strikeforce women’s bantamweight title.

Strikeforce closed shop at the beginning of last year and Rousey was made the UFC women’s bantamweight champion. Rousey defended her title one time so far defeating Liz Carmouche at UFC 157 in February. Tate has fought one time in the UFC as well, losing to Cat Zingano at the TUF 17 Finale in April.

Zingano was supposed to battle Rousey and coach together on this past season’s TUF, but Zingano suffered a knee injury before the taping. Tate was brought to coach and face Rousey. You can watch their entire fight in the video above.

UFC 168 Video: Chris Weidman Knocks Out Anderson Silva To Win The UFC Middleweight Title

UFC 168 takes place on Saturday night from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The main event will feature Chris Weidman defending the UFC middleweight title against former long-time middleweight champion Anderson Silva.

The two squared off in July when Weidman knocked out Silva in the second round to win the title at UFC 162. The UFC has released the full fight, which you can view at the top of the page.

The Expendables 3 Movie Trailer Featuring Ronda Rousey

Ronda Rousey returns to the octagon next Saturday as she will defend her UFC Women’s Bantamweight Title against Miesha Tate in the co-main event of UFC 168. Between her fights, the budding UFC star appeared in her first movie as she filmed a role in the movie, “The Expendables 3″.

The movie features stars like Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham and Arnold Schwarzenegger, with the movie set to come out in the summer of 2014. You can watch the first trailer in the video above.

Dana White Doesn’t Feel That Georges St-Pierre Will Retire (Video)

We haven’t seen or heard from UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre since he defeated Johny Hendricks at UFC 167 last month.

The long time reigning champion after the fight told Joe Rogan that he was stepping away from the sport and didn’t know if he was going to return.

That set off UFC President Dana White, who blasted St-Pierre for saying that in the cage and not informing him of his career intentions.

White did an interview on UFC Central in Canada to preview UFC on Fox 9 and St-Pierre was brought up as he will be doing an autograph signing at a mall in Canada and will be speaking to the media afterwards. That has brought speculation that St-Pierre may announce his future.

Ronda Rousey Describes Beating Up Two Men In A Movie Theatre (Video)

UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey will defend her title against Miesha Tate in the co-main event at UFC 168 on Saturday, December 28. The current bantamweight champion last night appeared on “The Jimmy Kimmel” on ABC.

Rousey was on the show to promote the fight with Tate. Also discussed on the show was talking about judo, her family and a fight in a movie theatre.

The 50th Anniversary Of The First Ever MMA Fight With “Judo” Gene LaBell vs Milo Savage (Video)

The UFC was started 20 years ago last month and that has been recognized by this generation as to when MMA first started. That isn’t true though as 50 years ago yesterday, an American judoka by the name of Gene LaBell responded to an advertisement in a magazine to face a boxer, Milo Savage.

LaBell and Savage battled at event in Salt Lake City, Utah pitting Judo vs Boxing, which would show which style is better. To celebrate the anniversary, the apparel company Roots of Fight made a documentary looking back at the history of the fight and what it means today.

The people at Roots of Fight sent us the video, which you can watch above as you will hear interviews from LaBell, UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey, MMA legend BJ Penn, referee John McCarthy, former world champion judoka AnnMaria Rousey DeMars and Paul Lazenby.
