WWE Friday Night Smackdown Spoilers For Friday April 25, 2014

smackdown

WWE Friday Night Smackdown tapings took place last night in Hershey, Pennsylvania. The show will air on Friday night on the SyFy channel starting at 8 p.m. ET. Here is what happened at the tapings.

The show opened with Vickie Guerrero announcing the Authority had the night off and The Shield would have another 3 on 11 match. She set a debate between Paul Heyman and Zeb Colter. Heyman used most of his time to talk about Brock Lesnar. Zeb and Heyman argued until it was broken up.

-Cesaro (w/Paul Heyman) beat Jack Swagger (w/Zeb Colter). Cesaro pinned Swagger with the Neutralizer. Cesaro was getting face reactions. The Shield hit the ring after the match and took out Swagger with the Superman punch and a Triple Powerbomb. They said Swagger didn’t adapt. It looks like they will be doing this all night, as they said they weren’t done.

-Tamina defeated Natalya. Tamina dominated most of the match and got the pin after a superkick.

The Shield took out 3MB backstage. Triple H called Vickie and told her to take the night off. Brad Maddox showed up and said he’d take care of it.

-Curtis Axel pinned Jey Uso. Axel won with a swinging neckbreaker. Very flat match.

The cage lowered and the Wyatt Family came to the ring. Bray Wyatt said John Cena was losing his people and it’s their fault for what happened. He received a big pop, especially from a Hershey crowd, which has always been pro Cena. He ended by singing on top of the cage.

-Erick Rowan and Luke Harper defeated Cody Rhodes and Goldust. Cody was on the top rope and Goldust was pushed into him and he flew off.

The Shield attacked Brad Maddox in the GM office… Santino and Emma came to the ring, followed by Fandango and Layla. The Shield stopped Fandango on the stage and have him the Triple Powerbomb off the stage.

-The Shield defeated Ryback, Titus O’Neil, Damien Sandow, Alberto Del Rio, and Bad News Barrett in a handicap match. Barrett was protected and ran off, but The Shield took out everyone and got a decent reaction. This concluded the Smackdown television taping.

After the taping, The Shield fought The Wyatt Family, but it was not an actual match.

First In-Ring Segment: Here’s HHH to get things going. He says part of his job is to find new talent that can truly succeed in the WWE. At the top of that list, there is no one higher than the Shield. Ambrose, Rollins and Reigns are three of the most talented guys he’s seen come along in years so he gave them power.

Maybe it was too much though because they tried to see how far that power can take you on your own. When you set out on the journey to find that line in the sand, make sure you don’t cross it. The Shield found that line and on Monday they crossed it. We get a clip from the end of Raw with Evolution taking out the Shield to end the show in a huge beatdown.

HHH told Cole on Wednesday that he was willing to allow Shield to give an apology and put everything behind them. All he got was silence though, save for a response from Roman Reigns. Roman said that soldiers win wars instead of soldiers. That’s a great line for a movie, but it’s not reality. In reality, soldiers are the currency on which empires are bought and sold. The Shield has lost their value and while it hurts HHH to destroy what he created, he’ll do just that at Extreme Rules. In life you adapt or perish, and that’s Evolution. He announces that the Shield will take on Evolution at Extreme Rules.

First Match: Alberto Del Rio vs. Big E

We get an inset interview with Big E. saying he’d love to face anyone. He’s also been in a pop, lock and drop it competition in Tampa. Big E. runs Del Rio over and gets a quick one to start but Alberto fights out of the triple backbreaker. A running enziguri in the corner is good for two on the champion before he charges into Del Rio’s boots in the corner.

Del Rio stomps away but misses a charge into the corner to give Big E. a breather. The announcers talk about past IC Champions as Big E. runs Del Rio over a few more times. Big E. hits a belly to belly into the Warrior Splash, only to have Alberto get his knees up. Back from a break with both guys getting back in the ring but Big E. charging into the post.

A DDT gets two on Big E. but he catches Del Rio diving off the top in a backbreaker. Now the Warrior Splash connects and there go the straps. The Big Ending is countered into a Backstabber for a close two but Big E. blocks the armbreaker and makes the rope. Del Rio won’t break it though and that’s a DQ

Winner: Big E by DQ

Post match Del Rio loads up the superkick but walks into the Big Ending.

Tonight after SmackDown on the WWE Network, There will be a special edition of the Legends of WrestleMania show hosted by Josh Matthews and special guest will be Booker T, Sgt Slaughter, and Ted DiBiase and they will discuss the passing of the late great Ultimate Warrior

We get a vignette for upcoming NXT Superstar Bo Dallas

Second In-Ring Segment:Paul Heyman comes out and brags over and over about how Brock Lesnar broke the Streak, then he gloats and takes a bow.

Second Match: Paige vs. Aksana

Before the match, Tamina says she’s taking the title at Extreme Rules. Before the match Aksana insults Paige and says everyone is jealous of her despite Paige just getting lucky. She jumps the champion and there’s the bell, only to have Paige go off on Aksana in the corner. They head outside where Aksana nails a hard clothesline followed by that release spinebuster of hers inside. She doesn’t cover though and rubs Paige’s face in the mat for two instead. We hit a reverse chinlock for a bit until Aksana needs to crawl around the ring. A running cross body puts Paige down but Aksana can’t follow up either. Paige fights back and hits a running dropkick followed by the scorpion crosslock for the submission.

Winner: Paige

Renee Young interviewed Sheamus, he said that he is ready to get his payback on Batista

Third Match: El Torito w/Los Matadores vs. Hornswoggle w/3MB

The announcers play this as a total joke so let’s get this over with. They shove each other around to start until Torito runs him over a few times, sending Horny to the apron. The leprechaun rocker sends him head first into the middle buckle and drops a bottom rope Banzai Drop. A hard clothesline and splash get two for Horny and we hit the horn lock. Seriously. Horny plays some air guitar and gets rolled up for two. Just end this thing already. Please. Torito comes back with a Gore and Bronco Bustero followed by a top rope moonsault for the pin.

Bad News Barrett rips on the previous match and blames the audience for what we just saw.

Fourth Match: Alexander Rusev w/Lana vs. R-Truth

Truth actually gets in some offense such as a middle rope dropkick but Little Jimmy is caught in midair. The superkick and fall away slam set up the Accolade for the submission for Rusev.

Winner: Alexander Rusev

We get a recap of the WWE’s tribute of the Ultimate Warrior on Monday Night Raw

Fifth Match: Fandango w/Layla vs. Santino Marella w/Emma

Santino does a slow motion kick to the leg for no apparent reason so Fandango hammers him in the head. Fandango misses a charge though and Santino comes back with the usual schtick. Layla steals the Cobra sock so Santino sunset flips Fandango for the pin.

Winner: Santino Marella

Sixth Match: Batista vs. Sheamus

Batista pulls him to the floor to start and the brawl is on early. Sheamus takes him back inside and cranks on the arm before nailing the ten forearms. A running knee puts Batista on the floor and we take our last breakBack with Batista kicking the steps into Sheamus to take over. More power offense keeps Batista in control and a powerslam gets two. Sheamus throws him to the floor for a breather and sends Batista shoulder first into the post.

A Batista Bomb is broken up and another knee lift rocks the Animal. Ten lame looking forearms to the chest set up the battering ram for two. The Irish Curse gets two but Sheamus can’t hook the Cloverleaf. Batista ducks the Brogue Kick and heads outside before another kick misses inside. Spear gets two on Sheamus but he backdrops out of the Batista Bomb. He goes up top but gets crotched onto the top rope, setting up the Bomb for the pin.

Winner: Batista

WWE Smackdown Spoilers For Friday April 18, 2014

smackdown

The WWE held their Smackdown tapings last night in Nashville, Tennessee. The show will air on Friday night on the SyFy channel starting at 8 p.m. ET. Here is what happened at the tapings.

Triple H opened Smackdown with a promo and announced that Evolution will face The Shield at Extreme Rules.

-Intercontinental Champion Big E defeated Alberto Del Rio by DQ.

It was announced that the Night of Champions pay-per-view will be held in Nashville on September 21…

Paul Heyman cut a promo reminding fans that Brock Lesnar is the one in 21-1. Cameron labeled it a “tremendous promo”…

-Paige beat Aksana. A physical match that was reminiscent of NXT women’s matches. It’s almost as if giving them some time to work with is a good thing.

Sheamus was interviewed backstage.

-El Torito beat Hornswoggle. No, seriously, writes Cameron. That match actually happened. I will say that it was entertaining than I thought it would be, but it was still a waste of time.

-Alexander Rusev beat R-Truth. A sub-3 minute squash, but Rusev looked vicious during the match and had a post match decimation of Xavier Woods. “I feel bad for Woods because he deserves better than this,” writes Cameron. “Lana is even more awesome live.”

-Santino Marella (w/Emma) defeated Fandango (w/Layla). Santino won via sunset flip. It was not an especially great match, but there was a very Emmataining moment when Emma took out Layla. That distraction is what let Santino pick up the win. There was some bad comedy after the match with Emma asking for a high five and Santino forgetting to take the cobra sleeve off.

-Batista defeated Sheamus with a Batista Bomb. A pretty decent fight. They worked in some great near falls on both sides, but the right guy went over for sure.

After the taping, Batista grabbed a mic and challenged Sheamus to a last man standing match which Sheamus won via Brogue kick to send everyone home happy. Side note: Sheamus grabbed a Warrior-clad little girl from the crowd and carried her around for a bit. It was a touching enough moment that one of the photographers had to wipe away tears. He finished up the evening by signing some autographs and posing for photos. What a class act.

Lafayette, Louisiana

We open with the In Memory graphic for Warrior. Cole does a voiceover offering condolences to his fans and announces that Raw will be a tribute show.

First Segment:Here’s John Cena to get things going. Cena says the fans sound tired but he asks if they’re ready to go. Wrestlemania XXX started with the most iconic moment John Cena has ever seen with Hogan, Rock and Austin standing together in the middle of the ring. Cena lists off some other highlights from the show before getting to Bray Wyatt. Bray tried to turn a man into a monster but he still can’t see Cena.

We also saw the Streak broken, but then we saw the Game get played and a NEW WWE Champion. That was just Wrestlemania, because everything really went down on Raw. We turned Silver into Super, believed in the Shield, found out that Brock Lesnar was the one and heard the WWE Universe change his theme music. On top of that, on Monday John Cena was taught to Bo-Lieve, found out what you need to have a party, saw a big man named Alexander Rusev and the Divas division finally turned the Paige.Cena lists off various nicknames and says he’s none of those things. He’s the standard bearer and measuring stick. If someone wants to stand on top of the WWE mountain, they have to go through him to get there.

We all should embrace our differences and now he can’t stop smiling after losing at Wrestlemania. He feels so good because he saw that Cena isn’t hollow inside. Bray sees a lot of things inside himself and is thrilled because Cena is just one push away from becoming a monster. Wyatt will have to go to further extremes to make Cena because that monster, so hang on because this ride is just starting. He’s got the whole world in his hands.

First Match: Cesaro w/Paul Heyman vs. The Big Show

Heyman does Cesaro’s intro and the King of Swing comes out without music. Paul brags about guiding Lesnar to a victory over Undertaker and says how it allowed him to pick the next big thing in Cesaro. They shake hands to start as Heyman joins commentary. Cesaro bounces off Big Show and falls to the floor. A loud chop knocks Cesaro off the apron but he gets back inside and tries to suplex Big Show from the apron. That goes as well as you would expect and Big Show suplexes him to the floor, only to have Cesaro land on his feet. He tries a sunset bomb but Show sits on his chest to crush Cesaro against the apron for two. Cesaro bails from the KO Punch and has a meeting with Heyman. Paul’s advice: take his air.

Back from a break with Show charging into a boot in the corner and getting caught in a sleeper.Show drives him into the corner to break but misses a charge and gets put in the sleeper again. The giant shakes him off again and runs Cesaro over, only to have the chokeslam countered into a third sleeper. Heyman actually gives us some backstory by saying he had given Cesaro the advice that won him the battle royal. Big Show misses a middle rope splash and Cesaro loads up the Swing, only to have Jack Swagger run in for the DQ .

After the match Show cleans house but gets caught by some uppercuts from Cesaro, setting up the Neutralizer to a gasp from the crowd.

Winner: Cesaro by DQ

Second Match: Los Matadores w/El Torito vs. Rybaxel

The announcers talk about being Bo-Lievers despite no vignette airing.  Ryback throws Diego around to start but gets caught by a dropkick. Not that it has much effect though as Ryback powerslams Diego down for two before tagging Axel in for the first time. A clothesline to the back of the head gets two and it’s back to Ryback who gets two off a clothesline of his own. We hit the chinlock for a bit before a charge in the corner gets two on Diego.

Back to the chinlock from Ryback as this has been one sided so far. Diego fights up and makes the tag to Fernando for almost no reaction at all. Fernando cleans house and gets two on Axel with a leg trip DDT. Torito dives onto Ryback but gets caught in midair, only for Fernando to make the save. The distraction lets Axel hit his neckbreaker into a cutter for the pin

Winner: Rybaxel

Renee Young interviews Rob Van Dam backstage,Van Dam says stuff is changing but it’s cool when you’re RVD.

Third Match: Rob Van Dam vs. Damien Sandow

Sandow elbows him in the jaw to start but gets his head kicked off for his efforts. Rob poses but gets rolled up for two, only to get caught by Rolling Thunder. Another kick to the face sends him into the barricade but he comes back with some shots to the knee. Wind-Up Elbow gets two on Rob but he comes back with a rollup and another kick. Sandow breaks up the Five Star but gets shoved off when trying a superplex, setting up the Five Star for the pin.

Winner: Rob Van Dam

We got a vignette for the debuting Adam Rose

We get a commercial promoting WrestleMania 31 on March 29, 2015 in Santa Clara, California

Second In-Ring Segment: It’s Hogan time. Hulk praises Daniel Bryan’s performance at Wrestlemania and says he turned it into Yes-tlemania. The sight of Bryan holding both titles up gave him chills, so here’s Bryan in person. Daniel wants to tell the Hulkster something: this has been the best week of his life. He’s getting married soon and he just won the title in the main event of Wrestlemania.

Daniel talks about growing up watching wrestling and seeing Hogan as the biggest star in the world. He prayed every night to be able to main event Wrestlemania and took his vitamins to get 24 inch pythons. Bryan has been a Hulkamaniac since before he can remember but there’s one thing that would make it even better. He asks for Hogan’s music to be played and the posing begins.

Fourth Match: Bad News Barrett vs. Kofi Kingston

Barrett does the catchphrase to start but gets kicked down for his efforts. Some more kicks have the same effect and the Boom Drop connects for good measure. Bad News bails from Trouble in Paradise before laying out Kofi with the Bull Hammer for the pin.

Winner: Bad News Barrett

We get a video package of WWE thanking the WWE Universe for their support over the years.

Fifth Match: Santino Marella w/Emma vs. Fandango w/Layla

Apparently Fandango has dumped Summer Rae and replaced her with Layla. Not a bad trade. Santino hammers away to start as the announcers talk about the dictionary. The hiptoss looks to set up the Cobra but Layla steals the sock, allowing Fandango to grab a rollup for the pin

Winner: Fandango

We get a recap  of the end of Raw with Shield officially turning face by attacking HHH and his pals.

On Main Event, Shield said they were prepared for war with the Authority’s injustice.

Back live with Kane telling Batista and Orton that they need to put their differences aside and fight their common enemies. He wants Bryan for himself but Orton and Batista both want him for themselves. Kane says that’s what’s wrong with thembecause they all need each other.

Sixth Match: Daniel Bryan & The Usos vs. Kane, Batista and Randy Orton

Batista shoves Jimmy into the corner to start as we hear about HHH battling with Shield over Twitter. Off to the injured Jey who takes a shot to his bad ribs as the heels take over. Orton comes in and stomps away before ripping off the tape. We take a break and come back with Kane knocking Jey out of the air with an uppercut for two. Back to Orton for a catapult into the bottom rope and another two count.

Randy shrugs off a chop and dropkicks Jey down before tagging Kane back in again. That goes nowhere so here’s Orton again for a chinlock with a body vice followed by the powerslam for two. Daniel offers a distraction though and Jey nails a Samoan drop. Kane can’t break up the hot tag and it’s hot tag to the World Champion. Bryan kicks Kane to the floor for the FLYING GOAT before the Usos dive on the other heels as well. The brawl continues on the floor and it’s a double countout.

Winner: Match ended in a Double Countout

He says he takes issue with them cheering someone like Daniel Bryan, then he says no one will be having fun at Wrestlemania because he is walking out as the champion. Triple H comes out and says they should leave things be, but Batista brings up Stephanie slapping him and says she’s the reason for all of it. Batista says HHH wouldn’t have anything if he didn’t marry Stephanie, but HHH asks why he’s concerned with any of it. Batista talks about how HHH has never beaten him, and he says he only came back to win the title, but everyone wants to get in his way. HHH says Batista got spoiled and success went to his head, so he quit and tried to act, but he just went soft and he’s not The Animal anymore. HHH says everyone knows what he can do, but Batista needs to show what he’s made of, so he can face Sheamus tonight.

The match started pretty slowly, with Sandow grounding Sin Cara. Just as it seemed things were picking up, Sin Cara rolled up Sandow for a win.

Winner: Sin Cara

Renee Young asked Big Show about his match later with Bray Wyatt backstage. Show said that what The Wyatt’s did to John Cena on Monday was disturbing. He said some of what Bray Wyatt says has some truth to it, and that’s what makes you begin to question yourself. He concluded by saying that he had a big problem on their hands, but so did they.

Fourth Match: Goldust vs. Fandango w/Summer Rae

They traded offense to start until Fandango held on to a chin lock. Fandango controlled the match with strikes and chin locks until Goldust hit a back suplex. He followed up with an inverted atomic drop and ten punches in the corner. Fandango walked into a powerslam and Goldust covered for a near fall. Fandango retreated and both men battled by the announce table. Summer Rae bought him some time after Goldust threw him into the ring, which allowed Fandango hit hit a Yakuza Kick for the win.

Winner: Fandango

Batista plays possum and runs from Sheamus, then he kicks him in the stomach and hits him in the corner. Sheamus hits him a few times but Batista whips him across the ring, then he ducks a kick and hits a spinebuster and calls for a Batista Bomb. Sheamus fires back with a clothesline, then he hits a kneelift and clubs his chest on the apron. Sheamus hits a powerslam and calls for a Brogue Kick, but Batista rolls outside and hits Sheamus with a chair after he follows him outside. Batista hits him with a chair again and throws him into the ringpost, then he gets a mic and says he’s winning the title and they can deal with it.

Winner: Sheamus by DQ

Bray Wyatt says if you give a man a mask, you reveal a man’s true face, and everyone is guilty. He tells John Cena that there is a problem with fitting in, and if you hide behind your mask too long, it becomes you. Bray says he has broken Cena and he made a scar, so he’s going to slay a giant tonight, and it’s all for Cena.

Sixth Match: The Bella Twins vs. AJ Lee and Tamina Snuka. Vickie Guerrero on Commentary

Brie gets a near fall on AJ before Nikki attacks, then she whips AJ but Tamina blind tags in and hits a Samoan drop for a near fall. Somber serious Big Show promo with Rene Young talking about The Wyatt’s having a big problem with him tonight. Batista vs. Sheamus is the Smackdown main event.

-Fandango (w/Summer Rae) defeated Goldust in 5:00. Fandango won after catching Goldust with a kick to the head as he was entering the ring. The last minute featured a lot of fumbling and will take some editing to fix.

-Sheamus beat Batista by DQ in 6:00. Batista bailed before Sheamus could hit the Brogue Kick. Sheamus chased him to the floor and Batista hit him with a chair a couple of times for the DQ. Batista threw Sheamus back inside the ring and hit the Batista Bomb. Batista grabbed the mic and asked Triple H if he and the fans were happy. He said he is winning the WWE Championship at WrestleMania and the fans have to deal with it. The match was clunky and both men looked lost at points. The editing team will be busy with the last two matches.

There was a backstage promo with Bray Wyatt discussing John Cena and slaying the giant.

-The Bella Twins beat AJ Lee and Tamina in 3:00. Vickie Guerrero was on commentary. Tamina had enough of AJ and pushed her down. She tagged her in and threw her right into Nikki Bella, who hit the X Factor for the win.

Santino wanted to tell her something, but Emma said she felt the same way….they will always be the best of friends. Santino was gonna puke. She gave him water, which he spit in her face. Not funny comedy. Pure cheese.

-Mark Henry beat The Miz in 4:00. Miz threw Henry over the top rope to show he could eliminate him in the Andre The Giant Battle Royal. Henry threw Miz into the steps, and eventually performed a half hearted World’s Strongest Slam for the win.

WWE Smackdown Spoilers For Friday March 21, 2014

smackdown

The WWE held their Smackdown tapings last night in Houston, Texas. The show will air on Friday night on the SyFy channel starting at 8 p.m. ET. Here is what happened at the tapings.

Kane started off the show and did a promo about how Daniel Bryan is garbage and how the Authority is better than everyone, then the boos and you sold out chants started. He then read a letter from Triple H that explained how he and Stephanie regret what happened on Raw, but Bryan pushed them to that point.

-Fernando (w/Diego) defeated Fandango (w/Summer Rae). The crowd didn’t seem to care. Fernando won with a roll up. It’s a shame these guys are in the spot they’re in because they have so much talent.

-Dolph Ziggler defeated Damien Sandow. Ziggler got a nice pop. Yeah, we have seen this match more times than we’ve seen Cena win the title, but I’ll never get tired of seeing these two wrestle. Sandow got more offense, but Ziggler beat him with the Fameasser.

The Wyatt Family had an on screen promo about John Cena being scared. Not sure if that will make it on TV but the crowd paid close attention to it.

-Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins (w/Roman Reigns) vs. Ryback and Curtis Axel vs. The Real Americans (w/Zeb Colter) vs. Jinder Mahal and Drew McIntyre (w/Heath Slater) in a No. 1 contenders match for a shot at the WWE Tag Team Championship ended in a DQ. The match was pretty good until there was a DQ when Kane came out and started to attack Reigns, but I’m not too sure if that caused the DQ. Reigns and Kane fought up the ramp when the New Age Outlaws came out to a nice pop, then they started to attack Reigns. While that was happening, Cesaro and Ryback performed their finishers on the other Shield members. Reigns finally got back into the ring and Kane gave him a chokeslam them he left the ring with the Outlaws. I guess we’ll see The Shield vs. Kane and The New Age Outlaws.
They set up Miz TV and his guest was Big Show. They bickered at each other and then Miz brought out Titus O’Niel, Kofi, ADR, Cody, Big E, Henry, Goldust then Sheamus. Sheamus said something on the mic and Miz said they should beat up on Show which resulted in a brawl between all men. The last two men in the ring were Sheamus and Show. Miz tried to help get Show out of the ring but Show threw both men out.

-Alberto Del Rio beat Big E in a non-title match.

-The Bella Twins defeated Natalya and Summer Rae.

There was a backstage promo with all the heels involved in the tag team match. Kane gave The Real Americans and Ryback & Axel tag title matches (at WrestleMania?) and put all members of 3MB in the battle royal. There was a brief Alexander Rusev promo with Lana.

-John Cena beat Luke Harper (w/Bray Wyatt, Erick Rowan). Cena and Harper had a short match with a few good spots. The crowd was really into it with the back and forth chants for Cena. Cena ended up winning with the AA then ran out of the ring while the other Wyatts ran in. Afterward, Cena cut a promo, saying that there was another wrestler that had a similar entrance to the Wyatt Family, then said they could rest in peace. Undertaker came out. Taker and Cena cleaned house, causing Bray leave the ring. Cena and Taker hit their finishers on Rowan and Harper to finish the show.

WWE Smackdown Spoilers For Tonight’s Show

smackdown

The WWE held their Smackdown tapings last night in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The show will air on Friday night on the SyFy channel starting at 8 p.m. ET. Here is what happened at the tapings.

Smackdown opened with a memorial for Nelson Frazier, Jr. (a/k/a Mabel, Viscera, Big Daddy V)… The Uso’s and Daniel Bryan vs. The New Age Outlaws and Kane was hyped, plus an A.J. Lee vs. Cameron rematch.

-Batista started out the show with mixed boos and cheers. Batista started off by saying “I love this business and company.” He said he did not come back to be liked. A huge C.M. Punk chant broke out. He said you don’t have to support him, but you gotta deal with it. He said it’s a fact he can destroy anyone they put in front of him. A small Daniel Bryan chant started and died quickly.

Batista asked what the hell happened to this business, the real men, the attitude. A huge Yes! chant broke out. He said if the fans honestly think their heroes are as good as him they need to get out of their fantasy world and to get out of his. He said he would destroy each of our heroes on his way to WrestleMania where he will become the WWE World Heavyweight Champion.

Out came Dolph Ziggler. A “Let’s Go Ziggler” chant broke out. Ziggler started out by saying, “You don’t tell these people who to cheer for” and that they cheer for who they want. He said Batista is a dinosaur and sooner or later they become extinct. Ziggler said he wants a match with Batista tonight. Batista said he wanted it he would get it. Ziggler dropkicked him and walked away.

-The Real Americans beat Big E and Mark Henry. Swagger and E started the match. Cesaro supplexed E when Cesaro was on the top rope and E was outside of the ropes. Cesaro went for the pin and Swagger came in. Cesaro was angry. Henry went for the World’s Strongest Slam on Swagger, but Cesaro kicked Henry. Swagger went for the Ankle Lock on Henry, and Cesaro tagged himself in. Cesaro hits The Neutralizer on Henry (drawing gasps from the crowd) for the win.

-Vickie Guerrero and Alberto Del Rio were shown talking backstage. Del Rio said he’s going to take the night off. In came Sheamus, who said he loves a good fight. Hs said how about he and Del Rio fight, setting up the next match.

-Sheamus beat Alberto Del Rio by DQ. Sheamus has black athletic tape on his ribs. It was basically the same match between the two. Out came Christian in a suit. He went to the announcers’ Table. It was a back and forth match but nothing special. Sheamus had Del Rio in a half crab then Christian came in and hit Sheamus for the DQ. Sheamus threw Christian out of the ring, then Brogue kicked Del Rio, and got Killswitched by Christian.

-The Shield argued backstage. Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose yelled at each other like children. Enter Seth Rollins for the save. He said let’s show Bray Wyatt when you provoke the hounds you get the teeth.

-Batista beat Dolph Ziggler. Dolph with fast offense to start. Batista got in the face of a fan wearing the clown wig. A boring chant started, then a C.M. Punk chant (which I started, ha). This is a slow match. There were a couple spine busters in a row from Batista, who was generating serious heat by taunting the WWE Universe. Batista performed the Batista Bomb for the win…

-Bray Wyatt and the family come out. Wyatt preached about how we buy fancy clothing to impress women. He said women don’t even realize your wearing the mask that society tells you to wear. Everything is a bag of lies. Bray is so so amazing live. Bray said he says and does everything the society is afraid to do. He said he will slay this mighty dragon (in reference to John Cena).

-Out came The Shield. There was a stare down in the ring. Out came Triple H, who said this is enough and has too much money and time involved in them. This Monday night on Raw, the Wyatt’s will take on The shield. He said that for the time being, The Shield should stand down.

-Reigns and The Shield stepped into the ring and only Bray stepped in. Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins jumped onto Luke Harper and Erick Rowan, then quickly got back into the ring. Bray left and Seth was pumped. Bray backed the family up.

-AJ Lee beat Cameron to retain the Divas Championship. AJ started fast on offense. Cameron went on the offensive and was destroying AJ. Tamina moved AJ out of the corner and Cameron missed her and rammed into the corner. Tamina got thrown out, but AJ won with the Black Widow.

A recap of the undertaker and Brock Lesnar confrontation from Raw was shown, then the pre-show commentary team spoke about Taker’s Streak.

-Daniel Bryan and The Uso Brothers beat Kane and The New Age Outlaws. There were huge Yes! chants. Out came corporate Kane. The Outlaws didn’t do their whole saying. The Uso’s and Bryan work very well together. Kane looks so stupid in a wife beater and slacks and dress shoes. A “you sold out” chant began. Kane and the Outlaws huddled outside and talked strategy. I’m so impressed with the Uso’s. I can see gold on them soon. A straight forward match early on. Nothing special. Bryan tagged in and sent a knee to Kane on the ropes. Kane got back into the match and stopped the Bryan comeback. The Uso’s double kicked Kane and sent him out of the ring. Bryan hit the running knee on Billy Gunn for the win. This match closed the show. No dark match, nor return date announced.

smackdown

The WWE held their Smackdown tapings last night in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The show will air on Friday night on the SyFy channel starting at 8 p.m. ET. Here is what happened at the tapings.

-Smackdown started and it looks like we’re getting The Wyatt Family vs. Cody Rhodes, Goldust, and Rey Mysterio at some point. Colorado Springs went nuts for Daniel Bryan. This is the first live show since the wildfires prevented the WWE from making it to Colorado Springs.

-Daniel Bryan beat Jack Swagger. Vickie Guerrero and Kane-assigned Bryan with another match immediately against Cesaro.

-Daniel Bryan defeated Cesaro by DQ. We got some Swagger and Zeb Colter shenanigans. They were ejected. Kane came out to “watch.” We got some great back and forth wrestling. Bryan went for 20 spins on the Cesaro Swing. Bryan hit the running knee. Kane came in and chokeslammed Bryan for the DQ. Cesaro hits Bryan with the Neutralizer after the match.

-The Wyatt Family defeated Rey Mysterio, Cody Rhodes, and Goldust. An excellent six-man tag. Bray hit a crazy running block on Goldy, then hit Sister Abigail for the win. Great match. The Wyatts are legit creepy.

-Emma beat Summer Rae in a dance-off. Summer Rae danced and was booed. Emma danced and was cheered. Emma won. Fandango attacked Santino Marella. Emma pushed Fandango over Santino. There was more Emma and Santino kissing hijinx.

-Dolph Ziggler beat Titus O’Neil. Dolph won by pinfall. Darren Young was out for commentary. Titus was on his way to a win when Darren interjected, allowing Dolph to roll up Titus for the win.

-Jimmy Uso defeated Road Dogg.

-Sheamus defeated Christian. Good match. They worked a slow pace with Christian working over Shaemus’s left arm. Shaemus ended up winning with White Noise. No post show dark match. Christian attacked Sheamus, who cleared the ring to end the taping.

-The Wyatt Family attacked Sheamus, causing Daniel Bryan to come out. Kane then came, which brought out the Usos. The babyfaces cleared the ring except for Erick Rowan, who ate the Usos double superkick, a Brogue Kick, and Bryan’s running knee. The babyfaces celebrated, we all go home happy.

Just wanted to note that a “CM Punk” chant broke out, but it was cut off by them cranking some music.

WWE Fails to Reach Agreement with NBCU, TV Licensing Deal Up for Grabs

Last Friday came and went without the WWE and NBC Universal reaching a new agreement on a television deal before their exclusive negotiating period ended.  Now, the WWE can officially negotiate with other networks including Viacom, Disney and 20th Century Fox which may be looking to land the TV rights for WWE programming.

WWE confirmed that no agreement was made to Variety.com and also released this statement: “While we were unable to reach an agreement with NBCU during this period, we have certainly appreciated our long and productive partnership. With year-round, live programming that is highly coveted by programmers, distributors and advertisers, we are extremely excited about our future. We look forward to engaging with potential partners who recognize the value of having the #1 show on cable and live content delivered 52 weeks a year.”

In a perfect world, WWE would like to have all of its shows on one network family but it may have to split them up.  The company fully expects to more than double the almost $140 million a year it currently receives in licensing fees in any upcoming deal.

While a new agreement has not been reached between WWE and NBCU, the network does have the right to match any offer made by another potential partner.   And the sports entertainment juggernaut has implied in the past that it would prefer to remain with NBCU.

It will be interesting to see what other networks go hard after WWE programming and would also be willing to take all of the shows on the table including “Raw”, “Smackdown”, “Main Event”, “Total Divas” and “Saturday Morning Slam”.

WWE has said that it hopes to have a deal done by April or May at the latest.

The WWE held their Smackdown tapings last night in Ontario, California. The show will air on Friday night on the SyFy channel starting at 8 p.m. ET. Here is what happened at the tapings.

-Smackdown opened with Daniel Bryan coming out. Huge cheers. A six man tag was introduced between Daniel Bryan, Christian, and Sheamus vs The Shield.

-The Shield defeated Daniel Bryan, Sheamus, and Christian. Great back and forth action between all men. The crowd was crazy for Daniel Bryan and The shield. The Shield got the win after Sheamus gave Christian the accidental Brogue Kick, and Rollins pinned him.

-Vickie Guerrero cut a promo with Zeb Colter where he asked her to be his Valentine. She set up a Four-Way match for the IC title.

-Jack Swagger beat Mark Henry, Rey Mysterio, and Kofi Kingston in a Four-Way to become No. 1 contender to the Intercontinental Title. Henry was tossed aside early to make way for the other three taking turns beating on each other. Henry came back in and cleared the ring. Swagger did an awesome double suplex with Kofi and Mysterio. Swagger tossed Mysterio from the ring and then put the Patriot Lock on Kofi and he tapped.

-Eva Marie beat Alicia Fox. The crowd was pretty flat for this besides booing when Eva when she came out. She won with a cheap roll up.

-Bad News Barrett was out next making fun of American women eating chocolates on Valentine’s Day. He called them fat pigs. Funny.

-The Uso Brothers, Goldust, and Cody Rhodes defeated The New Age Outlaws, Ryback, and Curtis Axel in an eight-man tag. Road dogg started off by getting worked over, then one of the Uso’s got worked over by traditional heel style tag team. Ryback came in and the loud Goldberg chants started. He told us all to shut up. A small group of fans started a CM Punk chant that died after 15 seconds. Jimmy got the hot tag and cleaned house, then did the ass to the head of the Outlaws. There was some outside flying action on the heels and then the Uso’s double kicked Road Dogg, followed up with a top rope splash, and finished off Road Dogg.

-Darren Young beat Damien Sandow. Titus O’Neil came out for commentary. Darren pinned Sandow in under two minutes. Complete waste of time. After the match, Titus attacked Darren and they fought back and forth before Darren ripped off part of Titus’ pants.

-The Miz beat Fandango (w/Summer Rae). They both traded offense for a few minutes before Santino Marella and Emma came out. Summer Rae confronted Emma and then slapped her, which started a cat fight. Miz hit the Skull Crushing Finale off the distraction for the win. Emma did her dance afterward.

-Cesaro defeated Randy Orton in a non-title match. There were some signs planted in the audience that said “Cesaro Section.” Looks like they are starting to call Antonio Cesaro as just Cesaro now, as this is the second time they’ve called him that tonight. Fast back and forth action to start with Orton ducking out of the ring a few times. Strong cheers for Cesaro and loud We The People chants. Orton faked an injury outside and then roughed up Cesaro. Orton went for his hanging DDT, but Cesaro reversed it into the Cesaro Swing and he did 16 revolutions. The crowd went crazy. Great near fall, as Cesaro hit the uppercut. There were loud “this is awesome” chants and the crowd was loving this match. Cesaro hit a powerbomb off a reversal from the top rope and then hit The Neutralizer for the clean pin.

Dark Segment

Kane came out and said Daniel Bryan disrespected him on Raw and he demanded an apology. Bryan came down and played the crowd before beating Kane down and celebrating with the crowd.
