WWE Officially Releases Diva

WWE has granted Ashley Massaro’s request for a release from the company. The official announcement can be viewed here.

Massaro posted on her MySpace page last week that she had asked WWE for a dismissal in order to care for her seven-year old daughter, who has recently fallen ill.

Mickie "Moose" Knuckles Update

PWInsider.com‘s Mike Johnson has posted that Mickie “Moose” Knuckles underwent successful surgery to repair a broken femur in her right leg, an injury she suffered during a recent IWA Mid-South match against Sara Del Rey. The damaged limb was reportedly fitted with a titanium rod to hold the bones in place during healing and Knuckles is expected to miss approximately six months of action.

Word is that TNA plans to sign Knuckles upon her return.

Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com is reporting that both Rellik and James Mitchell have been released by TNA.

Mitchell’s dismissal comes as a surprise, as he is very strong on the microphone and could enhance any wrestler aligned with him on camera.

Alexandre Nogueria Suspended for One Year

WEC Fighter Alexandre Nogueria, has been suspended for one year by the California State Athletic Commission and fined $250,000 Sherdog reports

Nogueria last competed and tested positive at the June 1st WEC show. His suspension will last until May 31st, 2009, one year after the positive test.

Backstage Talent Leaving TNA

PWInsider.com‘s Mike Johnson reported today that TNA backstage agent and former Team Canada manager Scott D’Amore will be finishing his tenure with the company at the end of this month.

D’Amore is apparently looking to devote more time to his businesses in Canada - a sports bar in Windsor, Ontario and the Border City Wrestling promotion based in Michigan and Ontario.

TNA Wrestler Seriously Injured

PWInsider.com‘s Mike Johnson reported last night that Mickie “Moose” Knuckles suffered a broken leg during a recent match against Sara Del Rey at an IWA Mid-South card. Knuckles leaped from an elevated area near the announcing booth and came down on her right leg, which apparently locked and snapped.

Johnson later posted that Knuckles will undergo surgery today to repair a broken femur bone, also noting that it was not a compound fracture, which will ease the healing process.

Fight Metric’s Take on Rampage v. Forrest

In the aftermath of last night’s UFC light heavyweight title fight many people online have questioned how the judging went down. Dave Meltzer from www.f4wonline.com reported the judges scored the fight as follows:

“Adalaide Byrd who scored it 48-46, gave 4 and 5 to Jackson and Griffin 1, 2 and 3 with 2 as 10-8. Nelson Hamilton had it 48-46 with 1 and 4 for Jackson, and Griffin getting 2 10-8. Roy Silbert had it 49-46 with only round 4 for Jackson.”

I personally saw the fight pretty clearly going to Forrest, but the numbers from FightMetric.com show how close the fight turned out.
