Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com is reporting that WWE has been bumped from the Larry King Live show tonight in favor of coverage surrounding the five-year anniversary of the war in Iraq.
This is the second time King’s talk program has cancelled a WWE-themed broadcast, as Vince McMahon, Floyd Mayweather Jr., and others were scheduled to appear on the show last Thursday to discuss WrestleMania XXIV, but were pulled off due to the resignation of New York Governor Elliot Spitzer.
No postponement date has been reported in regard to the ‘Mania program. Comments (1) | Views: 388 | Read more... |

Many fans and journalists online have derided WWE’s decision to put John Cena and Randy Orton over strongly against a large portion of the Raw brand’s roster during last night’s show. While I certainly understand the need for solid mid-card performers, I do not believe that Raw’s main event caused the degree of damage that many are protesting.
When was the last time that Val Venis, Super Crazy, or the majority of the wrestlers who comprised the opposition for Cena and Orton were involved in a major angle of any kind (Hardcore Holly and Cody Rhodes' Tag Team Titles certainly being excluded from that category)? For the most part, these performers have been presented in the same manner they were last night: As fodder to strengthen the characters of the company’s headliners. And provided that anyone even remembers this match two weeks from now, it’s unlikely that WWE creative had anything special planned for them in the near future.
I suppose the point I’m trying to make is that nothing has changed. Were the wrestlers representing the Raw side last night portrayed inconsequentially? Certainly. But are any of them worse off for it than before Monday’s show? I don’t think so.
Watching the match, it is clear that the wrestlers who needed to be protected before WrestleMania - namely JBL and Umaga - were portrayed the strongest and doled out most of the offense for their team. Therefore - with Orton and Cena also being bolstered - the bout served its purpose.
I suppose time will tell if any severe harm has been done to the reputation of the Raw brand. But for now, I’m not panicking.

MMANews.com is reporting that a rematch between two of Pride’s most notable fighters might be on the horizon in the Dream promotion. The article says that Dream’s officials are hoping to set up a Fedor Emelianenko v. Mirko Cro Cop fight as the main event for their end of the year show titled Dynamite.
The article also notes that “the bout would be contingent on the success of each fighter during the interim. A source indicates that both Emelianenko and Filipovic are expected to compete at least once more for DREAM in the meantime.”
