Cage Rage 25 Results
The News - Mixed Martial Arts  |   Written by Adam Samons   |   Monday, 10 March 2008
If you still haven’t seen the Cage Rage show from this past weekend and don’t want the results spoiled then you should stop reading now.

Ken Shamrock returned to MMA on Saturday night, facing off against and losing to Robert “Buzz” Berry. It was a tough night for Shamrock as he was unable to bring the fight to the ground and eventually got caught by a punch that sent him to the ground and ended the fight at 3 minutes 26 seconds of the first round.

Perhaps almost as embarrassing for Shamrock as losing to a guy nicknamed “Buzz” was the ring announcer’s attempt at giving him a polite sendoff. After declaring Barry the winner the announcer asked for a round of applause for “the runner up, ‘The World’s Most Dangerous Man’ Ken Shamrock.” Maybe it’s just me, but “The World’s Most Dangerous Man” seems like the kind of nickname that should be omitted if you’re announcing a guy’s name after a loss.

I'm a huge Ken Shamrock fan - the guy is a legend and helped redefine mixed martial arts. Having said that, I would like to see him hang his boots up now though... he has nothing to prove and I don't want to see him used as a stepping stone or getting knocked out in a round by the likes of "Buzz" Berry.

I’m kind of torn on the issue of where Ken should go from here. Part of me really wants him to find a way to go out on better terms than last night would be, the other part of me is afraid of the results if he tries to do that.
