This episode of Smackdown features a main event one-on-one matchup between Chris Jericho and World Heavyweight Champion The Undertaker in a non-title match.. Plus an Intercontinental Championship match between John Morrison vs. Dolph Ziggler. And a contract signing between Rey Mysterio and Batista. All this and a whole lot more.

Tonight we emanate from the beautiful United Kingdom.

CM Punk vs. R Truth
Before the match, we have a recap of last weeks contest. CM Punk has a mic and cuts an in-ring promo. R Truth asks the crowd “what’s up”. He tells CM Punk what the truth is. During the match, Truth climbs the ropes and gets kicked off by Punk. Truth seems to have injured his leg, and Punk focuses on it. Endgame: Punk attempts a GTS, Truth blocks it, and slides down his back into a sunset flip. Punk counters that by sitting down onto Truth’s shoulders, and grabbing the middle rope for the 1-2-3. Your winner as a result of a pinfall, CM Punk.

Backstage, we see Mickie James and Layla arguing. As they do, we see Michelle McCool going behind them and sneaking into Mickie’s locker room.

Mickie James vs. Natalya in a Divas match
Standard diva match, with action inside and outside the ring. Endgame: Layla and McCool appear at the ramp with Mickie’s clothes and a pair of scissors. They proceed to cut up said clothes with the scissors. This distracts Mickie long enough to allow Natalya to put her in a Sharpshooter. Mickie taps. Your winner as a result of a submission, Natalya.

Backstage, Josh Matthews interviews Intercontinental Champion John Morrison. He discusses tonight’s title match vs. Dolph Ziggler.

Drew McIntyre vs. Finlay
Pre-match, McIntyre cuts and in-ring promo. The match itself is pretty much a slug-fest. Both men exchange kicks and punches in and out of the ring. Endgame: Drew and Finlay are in the ring and punching each other. Referee Scott Armstrong rings the bell. Your winner as a result of a double disqualification, no one. Post bell, McIntyre his Finlay with the shillelagh. He leaves the ring, and returns to whack him again.

Rey Mysterio and Batista have themselves a contract signing. After Rey signs, Dave wants him to sign an agreement saying that Rey can’t hold him legally responsible for what happens at the Survivor Series PPV. Rey refuses, Dave calls him a coward, and threatens to snap his neck like a twig. Rey signs, and then flips the table onto Dave, climbs over the table and leaves the ring. Dave takes his anger out on the furniture in the ring.

Dolph Ziggler vs. Intercontinental Champion John Morrison in a title match
Ziggler looks good early in the match, until a mid-match ad-break. (grrrr). Morrison gets back into it by using elbows and fists. Endgame: Ziggler climbs the turnbuckles and Morrison gives chase. As Ziggler starts to fall, he grabs onto Morrison’s tights, the both fall to the floor. Morrison’s neck hits the security rail, Ziggler’s head hits the floor. Both men are knocked out. Your winner as a result of a double count-out, no one.

Beth Phoenix vs. Lisa Taylor (who?)
In a match that can only be a set up for a run-in, Beth makes short work of Ms. Taylor. Endgame: Phoenix nails Taylor with the Glam Slam for the 1-2-3. (no run-in.. weird) Your winner as a result of a pinfall, Beth Phoenix.

In the locker room, Matthews interviews Chris Jericho. Good typical stuff from Jericho. He says he’s the best at what he does, and predicts a win at Survivor Series.

Chris Jericho vs. World Heavyweight Champion The Undertaker in a non-title match. Before a mid-match ad-break (grrr), Taker tries to go old school, but Jericho yanks him off the top rope. Both men fall to the canvas. Stryker calls The Undertaker, “The Devils’ Prince.” Nice one. Jericho is giving Taker a run for his money here, even hitting a Codebreaker. Jericho mocks Taker with the throat-slash, eye-roll thing. He attempts a Tombstone pile-driver, but Taker reverses it. Endgame: Jericho hits a Lionsault, and attempts a pin. Taker does the zombie sit-up choke, and tries a Tombstone. Jericho gets out of it. He gets Taker in the Walls of Jericho, Taker reverses it into a Hells Gate and Jericho taps out. Your winner as a result of a submission, The Undertaker.

Post-match, Big Show comes to the ring and he and Jericho work over Taker. Kane comes to the ring, Show bails, and Kane nails Jericho with a big boot. Backstage we see Mr. McMahon. He calls Teddy Long and makes a match for next week. Kane and The Undertaker vs. Big Show and Chris Jericho. Back in the ring, Kane and Taker stand side by side, as Jericho and Show share a moment on the ramp.

Good night from the UK.
