This Royal Rumble PPV go home episode of Raw features DX vs. Legacy in a tag team match. Mr. McMahon addresses the Bret Hart situation. And John Cena takes on WWE Champ Sheamus in a non-title match. All this, plus a whole lot more.

Tonight we emanate from beautiful Columbus, Ohio.

We begin with DX cutting an in-ring promo. HHH wants to know where the leprechaun is, and HBK says he sent him home. This is serious, after all. HBK says he needs to win the Royal Rumble, so he can get a shot at ending The Undertakers Wrestlemania streak. HHH says it’s too much to ask. He says is would be easier for them to work together at the Rumble, and let it come down to just the two of them. Hunter explains that if he has to step on Shawn’s dream to get what he wants, than that’s what he’s going to do. Shawn: “I understand.”

Unified Tag Team Champions DX vs. Legacy in a non-title match.
During the match, we learn that one half of tonight’s guest hosts, James Roday won’t be here. Dule Hill will have fly solo. Good back and forth match between these two teams. HBK gets the majority of the punishment here. Legacy uses quick tags and double teams to keep HBK in their corner. He eventually gets a hot tag to HHH, who cleans house in his own unique style. Endgame: Some miscommunication between DX results in Shawn giving Sweet Chin Music to DiBiase and HHH delivering a forearm to Rhodes. HBK pins DiBiase for the 1-2-3. Your winners as a result of a pinfall, DX. Post-match. HHH and HBK hug and make up.

MVP vs. The Big Show.
Pre-match, MVP cuts an in-ring promo. He runs down The Miz, and tells him he will beat him one day for his US Championship. He gets interrupted by The Miz. He’s baffled as to why the fans love MVP and hate him. MVP tells him it’s because he’s a jackass. They have a good back and forth about prison, and how Miz would be very popular there. The match itself is pretty quick. MVP gets some offense in, but it’s short lived. Endgame: Show chokelsams MVP for the 1-2-3. Your winner as a result of a pinfall, The Big Show.

In the locker room, all three members of Legacy share a moment. Randy Orton tells DiBiase and Rhodes that he’s going to win the WWE Title with or without them.

In the guest host’s office, John Cena and Dule Hill share a moment. We learn that their “psych” co-star James Roday isn’t here tonight because he had an emergency appendectomy. Cena leaves, Miz enters. Hill is putting him in a match tonight. Miz: “Really?” Hill finally says what we’ve all been thinking for weeks. “I don’t like doing bits from two years ago on Saturday Night Live.” Amen brother.

Maryse vs. Eve Torres in a Divas Championship Tournament Semi-final match.
Pre-match, Maryse speaks FrenGlish. Dule Hill interrupts by accidentally hitting pyro. He apologizes, but I think Maryse doesn’t accept the apology. Typical Diva match. Eve continues to impress, but she is over matched here. Endgame: Maryse hits Eve with the French Kiss DDT for the sexiest 1-2-3 ever. Your winner as a result of pinfall, Maryse.

Mr. McMahon cuts an in-ring promo. He says once again that Bret Hart will never again appear in the WWE. McMahon goes into the crowd and asks the audience to give them one good reason to bring Bret back. No one answers to his liking, so he returns to the ring, and says he’s not concerned about someone who is a footnote of the past. He is interrupted by John Cena. He’s upset at the way he’s been treating the legends lately. (Bret Hart and Roddy Piper specifically). He says Vince is only serving is ego, and lining his wallet. He goes so far as to call him pathetic. He demands that McMahon invites Hart to Raw next week. Eventually, McMahon says Hart’s invited to Raw, but tonight, Cena has to face Sheamus.

US Champion The Miz vs. Kofi Kingston in a non-title match.
These two put on a decent match that was a little too short, but still an impressive outing. Endgame: Miz is in control and about to strike when MVP’s music plays and distracts him. Kofi hits him with the Trouble in Paradise kick for the 1-2-3. Your winner as a result of a pinfall, Kofi Kingston.

Backstage, Carlito escorts Dule Hill into the production truck. Hill wants to know what the buttons do. The board operator tells him that’s where they punch up the graphics for the next match. Hill wants to see Carlito’s graphic. He then makes a random match for tonight with whoever’s code he punches in next. It happens to be Kelly Kelly. Carlito is ok with that decision.

Carlito vs. Kelly Kelly.
As Kelly walks to the ring, Santino interrupts and he has a mic and a copy of the new best of Raw 2009 DVD. He’s embarrassed that he’s only on it looking like an estupido. He says he’ll win the Royal Rumble and go on to Wrestlemania. He’s going to start by taking Kelly’s place tonight, and beating Carlito. Just as he does, he gets jumped by Jack Swagger, who pretty much annihilates him…. So no match? Ok.

In the guest host’s office, John Cena and Dule Hill share another moment. They talk to their “psych” co-star on the speakerphone. They are all interrupted by Alicia Fox. She wants Hill to predict the future. He sees Fox victorious and to prove it, he will be ringside. She says he better be right. Cena goes on to reference Tecmo SuperBowl, Golden Corral, Mark Henry, Dule’s appendix and soft-serve ice cream.

Alicia Fox vs. Gail Kim in a Divas Championship Tournament Semi-final match. Hill joins King and Cole on commentary. At one point, he distracts Fox. Endgame: Gail hits an inverted face-stomper on Fox for the 1-2-3. Your winner as a result of a pinfall, Gail Kim. Post-match, Fox goes all, “Oh no you didn’t” on Hill and slaps him across the face.

We learn that next weeks guest host will be William Shatner.

WWE Champion Sheamus vs. John Cena in a non-title match.
Very nice free-tv match. Near falls and counters galore. Sheamus really looks impressive. At one point, he throws Cena into the ring steps outside, looking like he knocked him out cold. Cena barely makes it back into the ring to beat the 10 count. Endgame: Outside the ring again, Sheamus kicks Cena in the head. As Sheamus is counting along, Randy Orton enters the ring and gives an RKO to the big Irishman. Your winner as a result of a disqualification, John Cena. Post-match, Orton tries to drop Cena with a middle rope DDT. He counters it into an Attitude Adjustment.

Fade to black, good night from Columbus.
