This episode of Smackdown features one on one contests between all 6 combatants in the Elimination Chamber PPV. CM Punk takes Rey Mysterio, R-Truth vs. John Morrison, and The Undertaker faces Chris Jericho in a No DQ match. All this, plus a whole lot more.
Tonight we emanate from beautiful Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Rey Mysterio vs. CM Punk.
Lots of action in and out of the ring. At one point, Punk drops Rey back first onto the security railing outside, seemingly injuring his back. Great stuff from both guys as Rey makes his inevitable comeback. Endgame: After some chicanery from the Straight Edge Society, Rey attempts a 619, but Punk moves out of the way, and gets Rey up for the GTS. Rey blocks it and rolls up Punk for the 1-2-3. Your winner as a result of a pinfall, Rey Mysterio. Post-match, the SES beats down Rey. Punk grabs Rey by the mask and yells, “Let me save you Rey,” then pops him with a GTS.
Intercontinental Champ Drew McIntyre vs. Kane in a non-title match.
Pre-match Drew issues a challenge, and it’s Kane. Drew tries to bail, but Kane won’t let him, and we have ourselves a match. And a long match it is, and it ends in a double count-out. Post-match, Drew tries to use the belt on Kane, who chokeslams him.
Backstage, Mickie James gets accosted by Team Lay-Cool. Somehow, Vickie Guerrero ends up with a face full of cottage cheese. Seriously.
Women’s Champ Mickie James vs. Layla in a non-title match.
Shortly into the match, Vickie (still covered in cottage cheese), stops it and makes it a handicapped match.

Mickie does her best to overcome the odds, but it wasn’t meant to be. Endgame: McCool drops James with the Faith-Breaker for the 1-2-3. Your winners as a result of a pinfall, Team Lay-Cool.
Batista is in the ring to explain his attack of John Cena on Raw, and why he walked out of the qualifying match last week. Instead of actually, you know, talking, he just walks in and out of the ring and drops the mic a couple of times.
Teddy Long announces that Batista will face Edge on Smackdown. (He doesn’t say when).
Matt Hardy and The Great Khali vs. The Hart Dynasty.
Pre-match, Matt Hardy says his Valentine is Maria, who joins him for an in-ring hug. The match itself is exactly what you’d expect from these two teams. Endgame: Natalya trips Matt, causing Maria to go all, “Oh no you didn’t trip my man!” on Natalya, who gets a Thesz press mount for her troubles. This distracts Matt, and Kidd tries to roll him up, but Matt counters for the 1-2-3. Your winners as a result of pinfall, Matt Hardy and The Great Khali.
R-Truth vs. John Morrison.
This match never really starts. Endgame: A minute into it, Morrison injures his lower leg/ankle. The ref rings the bell. Your winner as a result of an injury, R-Truth.
Edge cuts an in-ring promo. He runs down his potential Wrestlemania opponents. He singles out the one guy who he might want to face there, The Undertaker. We learn that next week, Edge will face Batista. (Thanks for picking up Teddy’s slack, Edge). He is interrupted by Chris Jericho. He warns Edge to stay away from him, after he wins the Elimination Chamber. To prove it, he says to watch what he does to The Undertaker tonight.
Chris Jericho vs. World Heavyweight Champ The Undertaker in a No DQ non-title match.
Edge joins Striker and Grisham on commentary. Taker and Jericho don’t take advantage of the No DQ rules at first. At one point, though, Edge and Taker share a stare-down, and Taker turns around and kicks Edge in the face. Endgame: After Taker gives Jericho the Last Ride, Edge enters the ring, and spears Taker. Edge bails from the ring, and Taker does the zombie sit up. Just as Taker picks up Jericho, Chris nails him with the Code-Breaker. Your winner as a result of a pinfall, Chris Jericho.
