Breaking news coming out of the SmackDown/ECW tapings in London, England and reported by Pro Wrestling Insider's Dave Scherer. It's been announced that Mike Adamle will be the new announcer for the ECW brand and will be calling tonight's entire broadcast.
Right now, rumors are swirling backstage that Joey Styles will be moved to another area within the company. Many have to find this shocking due to Adamle's poor performance since joining the WWE back in January. Choosing Adamle over Joey Styles really dampers the brand, in my honest opinion, since Joey Styles has always been the voice of ECW. One has to hope this isn't the end for Joey Styles in the WWE. More on this as it develops.
Posted by: Jorge from VA Beach at 04-15-2008 21:42 They're replacing Joey and of all people with this guy? WTF is wwe smoking? Joey IS ECW. I honestly don't care if it's not the old ECW, they MUST keep Joey for it to be enjoyable. Posted by: David Busby at 04-15-2008 23:54 Adamle will be keep his head above water so long as one of the 'Harvey' boys doesn't find their way to 'ECW'... Posted by: ANBU at 04-16-2008 03:33 Adamle's doing commentary? They gonna replace Tazz with Larry Csonka and turn it into the old-school American Gladiators? Let's see if we can get Lee "Hawk" Reherman in on this as well. Posted by: George Smith at 04-16-2008 05:08 Dear God no. Oh well, just goes to show how non-ECW that ECW actually is. Posted by: Michael Liedtke at 04-16-2008 06:40 Does this mean Wesley "Two Scoops" Berry will be debuting soon? Posted by: Steve Wightman at 04-17-2008 08:24 I really hope this is the beginning of good things for Joey... maybe they will put him on Raw eventually, if they want a 3-man commentary team or decide to phase JR out... I hope it's not the end we see (...well, hear) from him. Write Comment
