Presidental Candidates Huge Publicity Success for the WWE...sort of
The News - Wrestling  |   Written by Marshall Bowen   |   Saturday, 26 April 2008

If someone in the WWE higher-ups is under the impression that, as long as nobody's dead, there is no such thing as bad publicity than the Presidential Candidates and the mock "Hilary vs Obama" match were publicity gold. The candidates appearance on the program helped lead "WWE Raw" to being one of the most searched terms on MSN\Windows Live search.

Then, to make the week better for the company. Every "mock" show on cable made a mention of the both the pre-tape segments with each candidate and the faux Presidential smackdown. Shows such as Tuesday's Daily Show, VH1's Best Week Ever and E!'s The Soup, all made mention of the broadcast and then took their respective turns giving their sarcasm dripped opinions on the matter.

So while WWE was probably further humiliated in the eyes of public opinion it was everybody's hot list, proving that in an election year any time the Candidates go on national television and do things to embarrass their careers it will lead to increased publicity.

The Daily Show video can be viewed at this link. Reruns of the Soup and Best Week Ever air all weekend on their respective networks.
