Leben Heading to Jail; Off UFC 85 show
The News - Mixed Martial Arts  |   Written by Marshall Bowen   |   Friday, 09 May 2008

Yet another fight has been pulled off UFC 85. Chris Leben and Michael Bisbing will no longer be fighting on the June 7 show, because Leben has been sentenced to 35 days in jail on probation violation. MMAMania.com is reporting that Leben is scheduled to be released on May 27 (with time served already) which would give him 12 days to prepare for the Bisbing fight. This was apparently not enough time for the UFC who has evidentially canceled the fight.

Leben turned himself to Clackamas County sheriffs in Portland, OR on April 30th for failing to complete probation before relocating to Hawaii last year. He turned himself in in hopes of obtaining a travel visa, however it appears that that did not happen. No possible replacement for Leben has been named.

This has got to be some sort of sign that this pay-pay-view is doomed. Just the latest in a string of canceled fights and removed fighters.

Real smart there Leben.
Should\'ve thought about fixing your violations some months before the fights? :P
