TNA made their final televised stop before Sacrifice with last night's Impact, which featured the revelation of two Deuces Wild lottery teams, in addition to PPV opponents Kurt Angle and Scott Steiner pairing up against TNA Champion Samoa Joe and Kevin Nash. Jim Cornette kicked off the broadcast by drawing one of the Egotistical Eight Deuces Wild Tournament tag teams (Any fan who remains unconvinced that TNA’s angles and match concepts are too convoluted should try saying that five times fast). From a glass bowl, Cornette picked the names of James Storm and Sting. Furthermore, the TNA Management Director stated that duos chosen throughout the evening would compete against each other in singles matches on the program. Sting defeated Storm following a Stinger Splash through a table propped in the corner of the ring. Later in the night, Matt Morgan was paired with Kip James for the tourney and scored a relatively easy victory over the former Billy Gunn. The remaining Deuces Wild teams - to be comprised of BG James, Awesome Kong, Booker T, and Robert Roode - will be decided at Sacrifice. TNA Knockout Title contenders - meaning every girl aside from Awesome Kong and apparently Rhaka Kahn - was placed into an “Immunity Match” to escape the possibility of a head shaving at the PPV. Cornette informed each gal earlier in the show that should the winner here lose Sunday’s Ladder Match, then the runner-up in the battle royale would be the one to get clipped. I wonder if this company realizes how ridiculous the very idea was to add yet another stipulation to a bout already vomiting with gimmick conditions. Anyway, Gail Kim retrieved the barber shears hanging - Yup! - atop a pole to earn immunity from becoming bald at Sacrifice. In other news, Hernandez delivered a Border Toss to Christian Cage on a concrete floor when LAX attacked Cage, Rhino, and Team 3D backstage. Also, Kurt Angle attacked Scott Steiner with an Olympic Slam and anklelock following the pair’s victory over TNA Champion Samoa Joe and Kevin Nash.
Match Results: Jimmy Rave over Curry Man, X Division Champion Petey Williams, Consequences Creed, Johnny Devine, and Shark Boy in a non-title six-way bout via a pinfall on Curry … Gail Kim won an “Immunity Match” over eight TNA Knockouts by retrieving barber’s shears placed atop a pole to earn exemption from having her head shaved at Sacrifice … Sting over James Storm via pinfall in a No-Disqualification Match … Matt Morgan over Kip James via pinfall … Kurt Angle and Scott Steiner over TNA World Champion Samoa Joe and Kevin Nash via Steiner’s pinfall on Nash.
