Kurt Angle Seriously Injured; Sacrifice Main Event Changed
The News - Wrestling  |   Written by Greg Atkins   |   Monday, 12 May 2008
Any rumors swirling around the internet have been made official as of 8:00PM this evening. PWI Insider's Mike Johnson reports that to start off Sacrifice, the fans were informed that while wrestling in Korea, Kurt Angle suffered three cracked vertebrae and two herniated discs.

While Angle stated he competed in the olympics and headlined WrestleMania with a broken neck and could do it again, the fact is, he is not 25 anymore and must follow his doctor's orders. Mike Tenay and Don West then announced that Jim Cornette would have an announcement involving the Main Event later on in the show.

And sure enough, before the "much anticipated" (note the sarcasm) Terror Dome X-Division match, Cornette announced that not only would the winner of the match recieve a future X-Division Title match against Petey Williams, but they would also take Kurt Angle's place in the Main Event against Samoa Joe and Scott Steiner later on that night.

Makes perfect sense, doesn't it? Read full story for spoilers.

Kaz went on to be the X-Division star that escaped from the Terror Dome, making him both Number One Contender for the X-Division Title as well as, what would appear to be, the Number One Contender for the World Title later on along with Scott Steiner.

You read right. Mr. Charisma & Personality, Frankie Kazarian, who was fired from WWE for refusing to cut his hair, is in the Main Event for the World Championship on live PPV.

If you ask me, personally, I would've had the winners of the Deuces Wild Tag Tournament (another brilliant idea) be Christian Cage & Rhino. Immediately after they win, have Cornette come out and say that those two will now face each other and the winner would then go on to be in the Triple Threat Match. Same formula could've worked with Roode & Booker or Storm & Sting.

But that's just my opinion.

It ended up being Kaz and he didn't win the main event but I hear did well in it.

Yeah okay so it wasnt the best PPV this time round but there were some definite highlights. Be nice if the guys could see the positives in TNA PPV's rather than the last one they reviewed which was great (aside from the James Gang match). The rest of the matches were WWE beaters for sure but instead they just decided to criticize the main event of Joe and Kurt in a semi-MMA style. Come on guys a little impartiality and maybe even some praise? If not for the management, then at least for the performances. 'Cue' Vito giving it "man shut up and dont make me whip your ass" blah blah blah

^^^Not when you pay around 50 bucks for a show that doesn't deliver.....

^^^^^ It just wasn't the best ppv this time around, is was one of the worst. And, no sheet, everybody knows they got good talent,How many times can we say that ? TNA can't book for Sheet, nuff said. How long do we have to wait for TNA to get their act together. Even if WWE isn't all that great, so what, at least we know what their capable of. TNA has not proven theirselves to the masses. Where WWE has (in the past). And it's because of the tremendous talent TNA has that we all bash their bad shows. TNA should be putting on Well Above Average PPV's EVERY TIME. If they're in a storyline rutt, then just let the "workers work" and they'll carry any show !!!

Totally agree with the points Joe made. Been listening to BTR for ages and the guys do give a great deal of praise to the wrestlers and not the management, which I agree with. My problem is when TNA finally has a good PPV and the guys just criticize the main event. I mean come off it, give them a little credit.
