| Heath Herring Taking on Lesnar at UFC 87 |

As reported yesterday Mark Coleman had to drop out of his fight against Brock Lesnar at UFC 87 due to an injury. MMAWeekly.com is reporting that Coleman’s replacement will be “The Texas Crazy Horse” Heath Herring. My one piece of advice for Lesnar is to not attempt the strategy seen below against Heath;

It has one of the UFC’s most promising young guys with very little MMA experience going up against one of the UFC’s most experienced veterans. One advantage for Lesnar is that Herring has had trouble with wrestlers in the past. One instance of this was Herring’s decision loss to Jake O’Brien in his UFC debut, though luckily for us fans Lesnar appears to be a much more offensive minded wrestler than O’Brien and could certainly end this fight on the mat with some ground and pound.
As for Herring, he’s experienced enough to know he’s going to have to prepare for a lot of ground fighting against Lesnar. He’s been able to hold his own on the ground against guys like Nogueira in the past, so his ability to survive on the ground can’t be discounted. If Herring is able to successfully defend Lesnar’s takedown attempts he may have a decent shot at pulling out a win in this three round affair, but that’s a big if.
