The show began with General Manager Vicki Guerrero calling out Batista to sign a contract for his Night of Champions World Title opportunity against Edge. The Animal complied, but was told by Vicki that he would first have to defeat The Great Khali before receiving a match with Edge at the PPV. As Batista was leaving, the GM informed him that she had snuck yet another clause into the document stating he would be banned from WWE in the event of a loss to Khali. Batista went on to save his career and keep his championship bout secure with a victory over The Punjabi Giant.

MVP barged into Vicki Guerrero’s office and demanded that she renegotiate his contract. Vicki agreed to have a look at the deal provided the former U.S. Champion took care of CM Punk, who had confronted Edge earlier in the night and teased that he would cash in his Money in the Bank title shot during Edge and Vicki’s wedding on July 11th. MVP would defeat Punk via DQ in a decent and lengthy match when the referee disqualified Punk after catching him with the MITB briefcase (MVP had originally introduced the object into the bout).

In other news, Chavo Guerrero announced that he will challenge Matt Hardy for the U.S. Title at Night of Champions and a brawl erupted between Deuce and Domino following the duo’s loss to Jesse and Festus.

This was a decent enough broadcast, but nothing remarkable. Finlay-Morrison, MVP-Punk, and Hardy-Palumbo were all solid matches, but don't kick yourself if you didn't catch the show.
