Two TNA Departures, an Impact Walkout, and a Top Star Injured
The News - Wrestling  |   Written by Adam Wilcox   |   Thursday, 31 July 2008
Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com reports that both Dustin Runnels and Tomko have been released by TNA. Tomko finished his tenure with the company at this week’s television tapings, while Runnels - who had most recently worked under the Black Reign gimmick - hadn’t been used on TV in weeks. Creative issues have been cited as the reasons for both partings, with writers currently having nothing for Runnels, while Tomko had allegedly garnered a reputation for refusing ideas and being less than enthusiastic with his employment in TNA.

Dave Meltzer has also posted that Kevin Nash left last night’s taping of the August 7th Impact following a disagreement with management regarding his role in a ten-man Weapons Gauntlet Match. The script apparently called for Nash to be eliminated from the bout during a commercial break and the former Outsider balked at the finish before leaving the building. Nash, however, remains with the company and there is reportedly no talk of him departing.

Meltzer also wrote that Kurt Angle was seriously hurt during the Gauntlet Match after taking a hardway ladder shot. Angle bled profusely from the blow and the injury apparently worried everyone backstage.
