Saturday Night's Main Event Recap - 8/02/2008
The News - Wrestling  |   Written by Adam Wilcox   |   Sunday, 03 August 2008
WWE presented the first Saturday Night's Main Event television special of the year last night, featuring Edge taking on Jeff Hardy, an appearance by Jenny McCarthy, and more.

The show began with an eight-man tag team match pitting John Cena, Batista, and Cryme Tyme against JBL, Kane, Cody Rhodes, and Ted DiBiase. CM Punk joined announcers Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler (who were reunited exclusively for SNME) at the broadcast booth and provided some good color commentary during this match. The bout eventually developed into a melee, allowing JBL to hit The Clothesline from Hell on JTG and secure the victory for his team.

Jeff Hardy opposed Edge in a great match to close the program. As The Rated R Superstar recovered on the arena floor following a missed Spear attempt, MVP emerged from the crowd and leveled Hardy - who was draped underneath the bottom rope - with a kick to the head. Edge capitalized by delivering a successful Spear on The Charismatic Enigma to gain the three-count.

In other news, The Great Khalia squashed Jimmy Wang Yang en route to his WWE Title match against Triple H at SummerSlam and Jenny McCarthy appeared to promote the Generation Rescue autism research foundation.

LOL at the sign that said MICKIE JAMES ROAST BEEF

It was weird how they showed highlights of what happened on SmackDown even though JR was commentating on it before it happened so he didn't know exactly what to say.
