The UFC looks to take it's game a bit northward by hosting the Nov. 15th UFC 91 event in Portland, OR, the first time the UFC would be in the state. MMAjunkie.com is reporting that UFC is in talks with the Oregon State Athletic Comission to hold the event in the city's Rose Garden arena. The event could potentially feature a lightweight fight between Kenny Florian and Joe Stevenson.

While the event had not yet been finalized Brad Darcy, executive director of the OSAC, told the website that the event was definitely "in the works". Darcy also says that there have been discussions between the UFC, Rose Garden and himself and believes the event should be finalized soon.

Marc Ratner, the UFC's vice president of regulatory affairs began talking openly in 2007 about hosting an event in Oregon.

MMA has been legal in the state of Oregon, with several smaller company events taking place in Portland and surrounding areas. The Rose Garden can hold nearly 20,000 fans for Trial Blazer games and can accommodate several hundred when configured for wrestling and MMA events. More should been known as the event draws closer.
