Major UFC Announcement Today at 3:00
The News - Mixed Martial Arts  |   Written by Adam Samons   |   Tuesday, 02 September 2008
The UFC has scheduled a press conference for 3:00 Eastern today. With the internet buzzing over a likely Randy Couture return against Brock Lesnar at UFC 91 in Portland Steve Cofield of Yahoo! Sports has confirmed this as the most likely announcement.

Randy’s return to the UFC will immediately revitalize the heavyweight division with potential matchups, though I’ll wait to hear if many details are given regarding his future opponents before getting into too much speculation.

If they do this, then WOW !!. They either think Brock is good enough to beat Randy or they have no care about Brock looking good or not.

This is a big time fight! This is going to do huge PPV numbers. UFC is doing a great job of putting together fights that people want to see. WWE needs to be taking notes.

Really, it's win-win. If Brock beats Randy, he defeats a UFC legend in only his fourth fight. Even if he loses, he'll look good doing it, and getting beaten by Randy won't hurt him, since it would only be his fourth ever fight.

Plus, if Randy wins, it will raise interest in a fight between Couture and the winner of the Mir Vs Nogueira bout to determine the "undisputed" UFC Heavyweight Champ.

BROCK! BROCK! BROCK! BROCK! This is basically The WWE vs. UFC. It\'s the one-time UFC Posterboy and Captain America Randy Couture against the now hated former WWE wrestler Brock Lesnar who\'s antics after the Herring fight earned him a spot as the top \"heel\" in The UFC haha.
