Previewing WWE No Mercy
The News - Wrestling  |   Written by Adam Wilcox   |   Sunday, 05 October 2008
WWE presents their annual No Mercy PPV event tonight live from the Rose Garden in Portland, Oregon. The show is headlined by two promising World Title bouts and also features an ECW Championship defense by Matt Hardy.

On the Raw side, Shawn Michaels will challenge Chris Jericho for the World Heavyweight Title in a Ladder Match. This has the potential to be the most exciting chapter in what is already Feud of the Year for most fans and I look for Jericho to retain.

Triple H is also slated to defend the WWE Championship against Jeff Hardy in the Smackdown main event. The appeal of this match has dropped ten-fold since Hardy won a four-way bout to earn his title shot, as the company appears more focused on pushing Vladimir Kozlov (or building toward a Triple Threat at the next PPV) than spotlighting the actual Jeff-Hunter showdown. I fully expect Kozlov to become involved here as well, possibly assisting Hardy in finally capturing that elusive World belt.

Here is the complete lineup for tonight’s No Mercy PPV:

Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Jericho in a Ladder Match for the World Championship

Triple H vs. Jeff Hardy for the WWE Title

Matt Hardy vs. Mark Henry for the ECW Championship

Batista vs. JBL to determine the number-one contender for the World Title

The Big Show vs. The Undertaker

Beth Phoenix vs. Candice Michelle for the Women’s Title

Rey Mysterio vs. Kane (Mysterio must unmask if he loses)

I still think they should add R-Truth against Shelton Benjamin to the card and that should open the PPV would defenitly be entertaining cause other than the ladder match none of the other matches are gonna be that exciting in my opinion.
