Scott Hall Causes Scene at New Jersey Banquet
The News - Wrestling  |   Written by Adam Wilcox   |   Saturday, 11 October 2008
Jason Powell of ProWrestling.net is reporting on an incident which occurred during the Iron Sheik comedy roast yesterday in Monroe, NJ.

Scott Hall apparently confronted comedian Jimmy Graham following a tasteless joke made by Graham regarding the death of Owen Hart. The proceedings were delayed as organizers and wrestler Jim Powers (who accompanied Hall to the banquet) attempted to calm down the intoxicated former Razor Ramon, who took the microphone and condemned the comic.

Mike Johnson and Buck Woodward of PWInsider.com have posted that there were allegedly punches thrown during the altercation, but no arrests were made.

How they didn't kick the 'comedian' out for even thinking that would get a laugh is amazing.

I totally understand Hall's actions, because it was an outright offensive joke. Sure, he was drunk, but he was right to object. It's not funny, and never will be and from what's been said, Hall and Owen were friends from their WWF days. Hall probably took it more personally than we would.

Then again, Owen made friends with practically everyone he met, so the fact it had to take an inebriated Scott Hall to stand up and say something is pretty f'n sad.

I thought Scott was suppose to be sober now...

I'm not sure Hall was invited... Someone outside might have said "last call" and he just let himself in.

Honestly, I'm surprised Hall didn't flat out deck the guy for the "joke", or anyone else for that matter.

Apparently no one has ever seen a roast before. The comedians are brought in to say the worst things they can. So if Scott Hall would have been at the roast on Comedy central where Jimmy Kimmell made the Chris Benoit Joke, Scott would have got up and did the same thing? B.S. He has the right to be pissed about it of course but YOU AT A FREAKING ROAST! Walk out and do not try to get over on the marks in the crowd that your feeding off of, who are chanting your gimmick name. This is the same kind of garbage like having to shake everyone's hands in the back every time you see them and if not, you get heat. This is the same kind of crap like the boys having Kangaroo court if someone sits in first class and does not offer it to Taker. And it will always be that way because there is no Union for the "boys" So this is the way to show power. Can you imagine going into work and having to shake your fellow employees hands everyday and if you do not, The employees ban together to have a meeting to punish the employee? And the boss knows what's going on but lets it be romper room so it deflects the issues off of him? This is not like this just in the big two, it is like this even in the Indy scene. And the witty come back to this would be "you just do not know what it is like in the business or you have no respect for the business." Everyone who watches wrestling loves it and respects what the guys do but Christ lighten up it is wrestling! Bret Hart and the Hart family should be the ones pissed, Scott says that Owen was a dear friend and that is why he reacted that way. That is all fine and I understand that, but I am sure Owen is looking down and he is so proud that his "friend" is a drunk mess and has ruined his own legacy for a bottle of scotch!
