Between The Ropes - The Show

Between The Ropes is an insightful and entertaining radio show covering professional wrestling and mixed martial arts. The show began on August 25, 1998 and for nearly nine years was a weekly staple on Sports Radio 740 AM The Team in Orlando, Florida. In March 2008, the show moved across town to ESPN 1080 AM where it currently airs on Tuesday nights from 6:00-8:00p ET.

For two hours each week, Between The Ropes provides listeners with an up close and personal look at the sports entertainment and mixed martial arts on the surface and behind the scenes.

Hosted by Brian Fritz and Vito DeNucci, Between The Ropes discusses all of the major sports entertainment and MMA news stories, often including exclusive information you won't hear anywhere else. The hosts share their insight on the latest stories along with their opinions on the in-ring product and television storylines. Whether it's happening in World Wrestling Entertainment, TNA Wrestling, the Ultimate Fighting Championship, or on the independent scene, Between The Ropes has it covered. Plus, the listeners can get involved each week as the hosts take phone calls throughout each show.

The highlights of each week's program are the candid interviews with the biggest names in the sports entertainment industry. Fritz and Vito engage regularly in no holds barred conversations with people from all aspects of the business to get their true feelings on current topics. The Hosts

Brian Fritz

Brian Fritz has co-hosted Between The Ropes since its inception in 1998 and often boasts how he has never once missed a show. He currently works at ESPN Radio 1080 AM in Orlando, Florida where he is the Sports Director and produces weekday shows "The Beat of Sports" and "Tuck and O'Neill". Brian is also co-author of the book "Between The Ropes: Wrestling's Greatest Triumphs and Failures" with Christopher Murray which was published in 2006.

Vito DeNucci

Vito DeNucci became a co-host on Between The Ropes in 2003 to provide an in-ring perspective to the show. Vito is veteran of the sports with over six years experience, mostly as one-half of The New Heavenly Bodies tag-team with partner Chris Nelson.

The Bodies were 3-time NWA World Tag-Team Champions and are widely recognized within the industry as the team that made the championship popular again. The Bodies spent a great deal of time ranked in Pro Wrestling Illustrated's Top Ten Tag-Teams in the world. Vito also was ranked as high as 174 in PWI's Top 500 wrestler rankings.

Besides his work on the independent wrestling scene, Vito worked frequently for the WWE and WCW. He has also provided color commentary for various independent wrestling organizations.

Dickerman

Simply known to wrestling fans and friends as Dickerman, he is a co-host and mainstay on Between The Ropes since its beginning. Dickerman has worked in radio now for over a decade with Real Rock 101.1 WJRR in Orlando, Florida serving as an on-air jock, producer and other behind the scenes duties. In his free time, Dickerman trains in Brazilian Ju-Jitsu with the Gracie Barra school.
