AJ Lee On Her Pipebomb Promo: Could’ve Been Better If The Professionalism Surrounding It Backstage Was A Little Bit Better

WWE Divas Champion AJ Lee last year cut what people called a “Pipebomb Shell” promo, which was named by her boyfriend CM Punk. The promo was in reference to the feud she has had with the “Total Divas” cast.

After the promo, nothing really came out of the promo that had the wrestling world buzzing and the fans chanting her name. Lee recently appeared the New Orleans Wizard World Comic Con and explained why it went nowhere.

“It’s funny because who I am is just very quiet and I’m not… I say anything that I think, like I just kind of say it, but other than that I’m super quiet. I’m not a troublemaker. So every time I go out, I turn into this kind of douchey jerk and it’s so different. I hope people can tell the difference between what is necessary for us… It’s like taking your medicine; no one wants to take your medicine, it tastes disgusting but it’s going to make you feel better. So, yeah, this is kind of rude, and terrible, and brutally honest what I’m saying but it’s going to help us all in the long run, is kind of how I saw it. And it really did for a while and I think it could have been much better if the professionalism surrounding it backstage was a little bit more, just a little bit better. Like, okay, let’s move forward with this. It was a little bit disappointing. I really wish we could have done a little bit more with that but I think it wasn’t in order to keep everyone happy. Which, you know.”

Before Lee’s appearance, fans were told to refrain from asking CM Punk questions.

JPOV: Decent RAW some matches were good some were not. I like the progression of the heel character of Titus O’Neil. It’s great to see Sheamus back in the ring like a breath of fresh air. Didn’t have much a problem with the Batista segment Del Rio said he had issues with Batista and dealt with his issues with Batista like a man sending a message to Batista. 2 great 6 Man Tag Team Match tonight.

I think Triple H needs to be get off his leash from Stephanie McMahon, but that just my opinion who running the show Stephanie or HHH? No John Cena kinda of surprised. Nice to see Christian back in the ring. I didn’t like the Santino segment. The cage match was slow to start off, but I thought the match was good.

The Main Event was fantastic a good old school wrestling match with Orton and Bryan. Nice to see Bryan win the match cleanley one questioned I have tho is why are the authority still sticking their nose in bryan business and helping orton even tho at the start of the show they were giving Orton a warning. Like I said I saw better Raws, but this was one ok no major issues.

Mick Foley Says A Lot Of People Don’t Like CM Punk Personally

WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley has been in the news as of late. Foley recently stated that his contract was ending soon with WWE and would be working with them on a case by case basis. Foley caused a stir right after the Royal Rumble last Sunday when he criticized the WWE for not having Daniel Bryan in the Rumble match.

CM Punk left the WWE last Monday and a return is uncertain. Foley made a video providing his insight into the situation.

“First of all when people ask me like how do I feel about CM Punk leaving WWE?,” Foley stated. “On one hand it’s shocking, but on the other hand it doesn’t surprise me. I’ve known that he has been frustrated for quite sometime. I’ve talked to him at length on many occasions about trying to look at the glass half-full. But when you wear a shirt that says, “The Best in The World”, your not looking at the glass half-full. Your not stopping to smell the roses and think about the things that are going well. Punk is a really honest guy, he’s rubbed people the way since he began in the business. He’s got a lot of people who personally don’t like him.

Foley continues in the video on if he knew of Punk’s problems, if Punk should wrestle Triple H at WrestleMania, what he would say to Punk and more.

Steve Austin Thinks CM Punk Leaving The WWE “Is The Real Deal”

Steve Austin and CM Punk have a lot in common besides being top WWE stars in the past and present. Punk has been the talk of the wrestling world this week as he left the WWE on Monday. Austin did the same thing in June of 2002, but came in February of 2003 for a short run before being forced to retire due to spinal stenosis.

The WWE Hall of Famer was on the Arsenio Hall last night and the Punk situation was brought up.

“So C.M., I think he was backed against the corner, got a little frustrated, and he took his ball and went home,” Austin told Hall. “I think one of two things will happen. I think Vince will fly down there to Chicago or wherever he is and work some Jedi mind tricks and convince him to come back or maybe he will think through the process and he’s got a lot of years left in the tank and never leave money on the table when you can go ahead and make that money. It don’t matter what happens, they keep sending little gimmicks in the mail and they’re called bills and you must pay your bills.

“I consider Punk a very good friend and I know he probably really is going through a lot of stress and I wish him well. I think it is the real deal, but I would like to think he will come back, but he is a pretty hardheaded young man so we will see what happens. Bad timing because you’ve got WrestleMania 30 going down in the Superdome so that’s going to be a good payday and a good ride to make.”

WWE Takes Away CM Punk Signs At NXT Tapings

CM-Punk-new

CM Punk left the WWE on Monday before the start of Raw. The impact of Punk being gone is already taking effect with the fans. The WWE taped episodes of NXT last night in Winter Park, Florida.

PWInsider.com is reporting that before the tapings began, there were a ton of CM Punk chants and before the taping was about to begin, WWE was telling people to chant “NXT” and instead the fans were chanting for Punk. The website is also reporting that any signs mentioning CM Punk were being taken away by security.

So the fun begins apparently.

CM Punk Critical Of WWE Creative And Lack Of Long Term Thinking

It has been a little more than 24 hours since news broke that CM Punk has left the WWE right before the Raw tapings and headed home to Chicago. Punk hasn’t spoken since the news came, but we have been getting more and more reasons why he was unhappy with the company. On Friday, Punk was in Portland, Oregon for a Comic-Con appearance and did a fan Q&A. About two minutes into the video, which doesn’t state the question, Punk answers the question as it seems to be about what he would like to see back in wresting.

“I would like it to go back to being less writers, more of a booker with long-term planning and ideas,” Punk said.

A fan asks Punk, “Where you build your own characters?”

“Not necessarily that, just an idea of where your going instead of where every week is like what we doing and how like, ah they (WWE) don’t remember that, that was two ago,” Punk said. “And just dropping stuff at the slightest notion that it’s not working or having no real plan of what your doing. Like instead, their (WWE) worrying about WrestleMania now. If it was my company, I would have that all settled and would be worrying about WrestleMania 31. But there’s the long-term booking and planning that hasn’t existed in quite some time.”

A fan brought up how when ECW was around and they built up the long awaited Sabu vs Taz match for their first pay-per-view, Barely Legal.

“Long-term booking, wow what an idea,” Punk said. “It actually takes something to build it up and not hotshot it and do it three months in a row, right.”

CM Punk’s Latest Pipe-Bomb is Friendly Fire

CM Punk Kendo Stick

Let the ranting and raving begin.

At some point last night, news broke that CM Punk wasn’t just off from Monday Night Raw this past week – he actually walked out of the company. Punk told people he was “going home” or some other such nonsense. And he left WWE. Done.

We don’t know the real story here, or what finally pushed Punk over the edge enough to just walk-out before Raw. What we do know is that he’s been pulled from all upcoming advertising. This includes house shows, Elimination Chamber, and even the grandaddy of ‘em all, Wrestlemania, where he was penciled in going one-on-one with Triple H. CM Punk also revealed late last week that his contract was signaled to end this coming Summer, and that negotiations hadn’t even started. [Read more...]
