WWE RAW Reaction and Review – October 7th, 2013

Big Show KO Triple H

Hold on to your cowboy hats, folks – last night’s WWE RAW stoked up the hype train in a big way. The show opening, with Big Show getting “fired” by Stephanie McMahon, left me with mixed feelings. I liked the idea here (especially since it set the tone for Show’s re-emergence later in the evening). Unfortunately, Stephanie and Show both had their best Brendan Frasier acting hat on. There are ways to sell moments as believable without being over the top, but that subtlety was overlooked here. [Read more...]

WWE Battleground 2013 Reaction and Review

wwe championship battleground

Hot opening to last night’s WWE, with Damien Sandow and Dolph Ziggler squaring off in a ‘battle of the dog house’ match. Both men have been on an incredible losing streak – that is, incredible in the “I can’t believe these two men are getting buried like this” way. But credit to both Ziggler and Sandow here. They took a terrible slot and made it entertaining, and did their duty by selling a few more Pay-Per-Views along the way. I’m also happy Ziggler walked away with the much deserved win. This might not have been the match of the night, but it was at least in the top three. [Read more...]

Dusty Rhodes To Appear Tommorow Night Monday Night Raw

WWE Hall of Famer Dusty Rhodes will appear on WWE Monday Night Raw tomorrow night to confront McMahon family.

It was on Raw almost two weeks ago that Cody Rhodes lost his job when he lost to WWE champion Randy Orton. Then last week, his brother Dustin Rhodes appeared on Raw and if he had won against Orton, Cody Rhodes would get his job back. Orton defeated Dustin Rhoades in a good back and forth match.

Stephanie McMahon on Thursday extended an invitation to Dusty Rhodes to appear tomorrow night on Raw.

No one heard from Rhodes up until about an hour ago, when he responded to McMahon.

Tonight, RAW looks like a packed show.  Not only can we expect final hype for Night of Champions (2013),  a rare appearance by former superstar Edge is being advertised.  Also, over the weekend Brad Maddox announced that Goldust will face Randy Orton, the stipulation being that if Goldust picks up the victory, then Cody Rhodes will be reinstated. WWE RAW Reaction and Review – September 2nd, 2013

Make sure to check out the WWE Raw Rundown for everything that happened on last night’s show. Also, listen to Brian and Steve discuss their opinions on the latest Between the Ropes podcast!

daniel bryan yesRaw opened solid again last night. The deeper Triple H digs into his villainous power-trip authority figure, the better he gets. We can complain about egos and self-promotion all we want, but who else in the company could play this role to such perfection? Fans absolutely hate him, and not just because they’re supposed to. They hate him for being so misguided. They hate him because he’s believable. [Read more...]

Sandow Money in the BankIf you had a chance to catch last night’s solid WWE Smackdown, you saw Damien Sandow and Cody Rhodes highlighted in a way they haven’t been before in their respective WWE tenures. Both men, especially Sandow, have the “gift of gab”. Both men know what they’re doing in the ring. But up until recently, creative seemed absolutely clueless on how to properly utilize Sandow and Rhodes, and their endless strengths. [Read more...]
