Ultimate Fighter 18 Winner Julianna Pena Suffers Horrific Knee Injury, Could Be Out For Two Years

Julianna Pena was the most recent winner of The Ultimate Fighter winning the 18th season defeating Jessica Rakoczy in the finale. Pena was scheduled to have her first fight since winning the show against Jessica Andrade at UFC 171. The fight will no longer be taking place as Pena tore her ACL, MCL, LCL, Meniscus and hamstring while in a training session at Sik-Jitsu Fighting Systems in Spokane, Washington.

UFC President Dana White stated on Twitter that Pena could be out for up to two years.

An opponent has been found to fight Andrade as fellow TUF 18 alum Raquel Pennington stepped up and took the fight.

UFC 171 takes place on Saturday, March 15th at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas. The main event for the show features Johny Hendricks battling Robbie Lawler for the vacant UFC welterweight championship.

Video: UFC on Fox 8, “Road to the Octagon” Full Episode

The UFC returns this Saturday as UFC on Fox 8 place this Saturday from the Key Arena in Seattle, Washington. The main event will feature Demetrious Johnson defending his UFC flyweight title against number one contender John Moraga.

Also in action will be Rory McDonald facing Jake Ellenberger in welterweight action, Robbie Lawler battling Bobby Voelker in a welterweight war and kicking off the main card on Fox will be former UFC women’s bantamweight number one contender Liz Carmouche looking to get back on track facing off Jessica Andrade.

The UFC yesterday aired the traditional, “Road to the Octagon” on Fox to preview some of the fights on Saturday’s card. The episode featured Johnson vs Moraga, McDonald vs Ellenberger and Lawler vs Voelker.
