WWE Friday Night Smackdown Spoilers For Friday March 28, 2014

smackdown

The WWE held their Smackdown tapings last night in Boston, Massachusetts. The show will air on Friday night on the SyFy channel starting at 8 p.m. ET. Here is what happened at the tapings.

There was a promo by Batista putting over his accomplishments since he’s returned and complaining about being booed and forced into a Triple Threat at WrestleMania. Out came Triple H to tell Batista that he would be wrestling tonight on Smackdown.

-Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose (w/Roman Reigns) beat Jinder Mahal and Drew McIntyre in 4:00. Corporate Kane, Corporate Road Dogg and Corporate Billy Gunn came out onto the stage and introduced The Shield’ss next opponents, Rybaxel.

-Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose (w/Roman Reigns) beat Ryback and Curtis Axel in 8:00. Rollins curb stomped Axel for the win. The highlight was a nice dive by Rollins. Post match, Rollins did a second dive on Ryback, threw him in for a superman punch from Reigns and a triple power bomb. They taunted Kane, Road Dogg, and Gunn, who were still on the stage.

-Sin Cara defeated Damien Sandow in 2:00. Nothing special fans were sleeping.

Somber serious Big Show promo with Rene Young talking about The Wyatt’s having a big problem with him tonight. Batista vs. Sheamus is the Smackdown main event.

-Fandango (w/Summer Rae) defeated Goldust in 5:00. Fandango won after catching Goldust with a kick to the head as he was entering the ring. The last minute featured a lot of fumbling and will take some editing to fix.

-Sheamus beat Batista by DQ in 6:00. Batista bailed before Sheamus could hit the Brogue Kick. Sheamus chased him to the floor and Batista hit him with a chair a couple of times for the DQ. Batista threw Sheamus back inside the ring and hit the Batista Bomb. Batista grabbed the mic and asked Triple H if he and the fans were happy. He said he is winning the WWE Championship at WrestleMania and the fans have to deal with it. The match was clunky and both men looked lost at points. The editing team will be busy with the last two matches.

There was a backstage promo with Bray Wyatt discussing John Cena and slaying the giant.

-The Bella Twins beat AJ Lee and Tamina in 3:00. Vickie Guerrero was on commentary. Tamina had enough of AJ and pushed her down. She tagged her in and threw her right into Nikki Bella, who hit the X Factor for the win.

Santino and Emma were at a restaurant on a date. Emma said Santino is a friend with benefits. Santino wanted to tell her something, but Emma said she felt the same way….they will always be the best of friends. Santino was gonna puke. She gave him water, which he spit in her face. Not funny comedy. Pure cheese.

-Jack Swagger (w/Zeb Colter, Cesaro) beat Jimmy Uso. Swagger won via submission. Hot offense from Jimmy.

-Mark Henry beat The Miz in 4:00. Miz threw Henry over the top rope to show he could eliminate him in the Andre The Giant Battle Royal. Henry threw Miz into the steps, and eventually performed a half hearted World’s Strongest Slam for the win.

Boston gets Money in The Bank on June 29, as Dot Net reported on Monday.

Lana was out for a quick promo in her native tongue regarding Alexander Rusev.

-Bray Wyatt beat Big Show in 4:00. Wyatt won clean with Sister Abigail. This match closed the Smackdown taping…

Dark Match

1. John Cena and The Shield over Bray Wyatt, Luke Harper, Erick Rowan, and Kane in an eight-man tag. Wyatt challenged Cena to a one on one, Cena said he wanted Rowan and Harper out of the ring. Kane came out said it would be a handicap match with Cena vs. The Family. Vickie Guerrero came back out and made it an eight-man tag. A fun way to send the fans home happy.

The Good, The Bad And The Dirty From WWE Monday Night Raw

wwe logo

The second to last of edition of WWE Monday Night Raw before WrestleMania 30 took place last night in Brooklyn, New York. Highlights of the show included a sitdown interview with Triple H, the opening segment with Stephanie McMahon, Batista, and Randy Orton and a John Cena vs Luke Harper match. Starting with this article, we will be giving you the good, the bad and the dirty from each edition of Raw.

The Good

1) John Cena vs Luke Harper: The more I see Luke Harper, the more he impresses me. He has a style mixed with Barry Windham and Bruiser Brody. Cena and Harper had a 15 minute plus match and showed that Cena can work with guys not named Bryan, Orton and Punk. You can tell that Cena is still injured, but is still giving his all and you can tell in this match. The ending was well done to where both guys didn’t have to take the pinfall. Was also good to see Bray Wyatt get the upperhand on Cena once again and create more doubt going into their match at WrestleMania 30.

2) Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins vs The Real Americans: The match started really slow, but really picked up in the last six-seven minutes when Ambrose started to make his comeback. The more I see Rollins, the more I like him as he is finally getting to show the great ring work he possesses. Rollins is very fluid in the moves that he does and gets the crowd behind him in the process. It is good to see WWE keep The Shield together and as babyface with as a lot of money can be made with them on the other side of the spectrum. The only bad thing was Cesaro taking the pin, but that can be forgotten about by the time Smackdown rolls around.

The Bad

1) Opening Segment featuring Stephanie McMahon, Batista and Randy Orton: The segment started good with Stephanie McMahon addressing the fact that Daniel Bryan wouldn’t be on the show due to last week’s beatdown by Triple H. That changed quickly when Orton came out and cut a bland promo about how he respects The Authority and doesn’t disagree with anything she said, but then says he will take no prisoners if HHH gets by Bryan at WrestleMania. Batista was no better when he came out especially when his microphone went and did a mic check. Batista is really missing something with his promos as he can’t pronounce WWE and is lacking emotion when he is out there. Orton taking another spear does nothing to believe that he has any chance of walking out of Mania with the title. Let’s be thankful that this match isn’t a singles match as the WWE would be in a lot of trouble.

2) Titus O’Neil vs The Big Show: Very confusing as to why this match was even happening. If WWE was putting on the match because Show was facing Bray Wyatt in the main event of Friday Nigh Smackdown, then it could have just been advertised and left at that.

The Dirty

1) Final Segment featuring Brock Lesnar and The Undertaker: This segment did nothing to get me interested whatsoever and I don’t fault Paul Heyman. He has done everything in his power to get the match over, but he can only do so much. You would think that since Lesnar and Taker haven’t been in the same ring together in almost a month, you would think Lesnar would get his revenge for Taker putting him through a table. But we got druids bringing out a casket and Lesnar kicking at it a few times before it opened and Taker rose from it. Made no sense whatsoever for Taker to one up Lesnar once again as it seems like the WWE is trying to get by on the fact that the old school and hardcore fans will want to see the match. WWE better do something next week to get the fans more interested or they will be in a lot of trouble heading into a match that you should have been easy to book.

Top Five Matches In The Career Of John Cena

john cena

Wrestlemania 30 takes place in 13 days from the Mercedes Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana. The top matches on the show include Daniel Bryan vs HHH, Brock Lesnar vs The Undertaker, Randy Orton vs Batista vs either Bryan or HHH and John Cena vs Bray Wyatt.

Throughout the next two weeks as we approach the biggest wrestling show of the year, we will be taking a look back at some of the best moments in the career of some of the superstars in the top matches.

John Cena has been the biggest star in the WWE for the last ten years. Cena is a 14 time WWE/World Heavyweight Champion and will be facing Wyatt at the “Showcase of the Immortals”. Cena has been in some of the biggest matches in the last decade and now we will take a look at the top matches in the career of Cena.

5) John Cena vs The Big Show for the United States Title at Wrestlemania 20: This was Cena’s first ever Wrestlemania as he had debuted in the middle of 2002, but did not appear at Wrestlemania 19. Going into Wrestlemania 20, Cena was on the rise as he had turned babyface at the end of 2003 and was riding a wave of momentum against Show. This match kicked off the card with Cena winning his first ever title in the WWE.

Wrestlemania 20 John Cena vs The Big Show… by EmilMoeller

4) John Cena vs JBL for the WWE Championship at Wrestlemania 21: After winning the United States title at Wrestlemania 20, Cena held the title on and off throughout 2004. After winning a number one contender’s match over Kurt Angle the previous month, Cena moved onto Wrestlemania 21 to face JBL for the WWE championship. At that time, JBL was the longest reigning WWE champion in the last decade, holding the title for over nine months. Cena ended up walking out of Wrestlemania 21 defeating JBL to win his first WWE championship.

3) John Cena vs CM Punk for the WWE Championship at Money in the Bank 2011: This is a match that Cena did lose, but this match had a lot of significance to both guys and their respective careers. Heading into the match, Punk’s contract was expiring and no one knew whether he was resigning with the company. Cena has always been known as a guy who works hard, but hadn’t had many standout matches. Added into the match was the fact it was held in Punk’s hometown of Chicago. The crowd was electric as they were chanting Punk’s name the entire night and Cena came out with his head down, focused and booed out of the building. Combine all of those factors, Cena and Punk put on the best match in 2011 by Pro Wrestling Illustrated and one of the best matches in the career of Cena even in defeat.

2) John Cena vs The Rock for the WWE Championship at Wrestlemania 29: This match in terms of work rate wasn’t a five star classic, but was significant. Cena and Rock battled at Wrestlemania 28 with Rock coming out on top after not competing for eight years. Rock’s next match was against CM Punk for the WWE Championship at Royal Rumble 2013 and won his first WWE title in ten and a half years. The match was the main event of this show, which was held in the number one market for the WWE, New York/New Jersey. Cena won the match to win his 13th Heavyweight Championship and was a passing of the torch as after the match, Rock walked up the rampway with Cena saluting him and raising his arm.

1) John Cena vs Shawn Michaels on Monday Night Raw- April 23, 2007: Cena and Michaels faced each other at a few weeks earlier in the main event at Wrestlemania 23 with Cena retaining the WWE Championship. A few weeks later the two squared off again in the main event of the April 23, 2007 edition of Monday Night Raw in a non-title match in London, England with Michaels winning in a 40 plus minute classic. This was quite arguably not only the greatest match in the history of Raw, but it was the greatest match in the career of Cena. This was also deemed the match of the year by Pro Wrestling Illustrated for 2007.

WWE Smackdown Spoilers For Friday March 21, 2014

smackdown

The WWE held their Smackdown tapings last night in Houston, Texas. The show will air on Friday night on the SyFy channel starting at 8 p.m. ET. Here is what happened at the tapings.

Kane started off the show and did a promo about how Daniel Bryan is garbage and how the Authority is better than everyone, then the boos and you sold out chants started. He then read a letter from Triple H that explained how he and Stephanie regret what happened on Raw, but Bryan pushed them to that point.

-Fernando (w/Diego) defeated Fandango (w/Summer Rae). The crowd didn’t seem to care. Fernando won with a roll up. It’s a shame these guys are in the spot they’re in because they have so much talent.

-Dolph Ziggler defeated Damien Sandow. Ziggler got a nice pop. Yeah, we have seen this match more times than we’ve seen Cena win the title, but I’ll never get tired of seeing these two wrestle. Sandow got more offense, but Ziggler beat him with the Fameasser.

The Wyatt Family had an on screen promo about John Cena being scared. Not sure if that will make it on TV but the crowd paid close attention to it.

-Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins (w/Roman Reigns) vs. Ryback and Curtis Axel vs. The Real Americans (w/Zeb Colter) vs. Jinder Mahal and Drew McIntyre (w/Heath Slater) in a No. 1 contenders match for a shot at the WWE Tag Team Championship ended in a DQ. The match was pretty good until there was a DQ when Kane came out and started to attack Reigns, but I’m not too sure if that caused the DQ. Reigns and Kane fought up the ramp when the New Age Outlaws came out to a nice pop, then they started to attack Reigns. While that was happening, Cesaro and Ryback performed their finishers on the other Shield members. Reigns finally got back into the ring and Kane gave him a chokeslam them he left the ring with the Outlaws. I guess we’ll see The Shield vs. Kane and The New Age Outlaws.
They set up Miz TV and his guest was Big Show. They bickered at each other and then Miz brought out Titus O’Niel, Kofi, ADR, Cody, Big E, Henry, Goldust then Sheamus. Sheamus said something on the mic and Miz said they should beat up on Show which resulted in a brawl between all men. The last two men in the ring were Sheamus and Show. Miz tried to help get Show out of the ring but Show threw both men out.

-Alberto Del Rio beat Big E in a non-title match.

-The Bella Twins defeated Natalya and Summer Rae.

There was a backstage promo with all the heels involved in the tag team match. Kane gave The Real Americans and Ryback & Axel tag title matches (at WrestleMania?) and put all members of 3MB in the battle royal. There was a brief Alexander Rusev promo with Lana.

-John Cena beat Luke Harper (w/Bray Wyatt, Erick Rowan). Cena and Harper had a short match with a few good spots. The crowd was really into it with the back and forth chants for Cena. Cena ended up winning with the AA then ran out of the ring while the other Wyatts ran in. Afterward, Cena cut a promo, saying that there was another wrestler that had a similar entrance to the Wyatt Family, then said they could rest in peace. Undertaker came out. Taker and Cena cleaned house, causing Bray leave the ring. Cena and Taker hit their finishers on Rowan and Harper to finish the show.

The last time that Montel Vontavious Porter – better known as MVP – wrestled in south Florida, it was four years ago and with a different company.  Now, the Miami-based wrestler is finally making his return as part of Total Nonstop Action Wrestling’s Lockdown event this Sunday which airs live on pay-per-view.

“It’s not just coming home to Miami, it’s coming home to Miami with a new company, a new attitude and the fact that we’re at BankUnited Center which is in Coral Gables where the University of Miami Hurricanes play,” said MVP (Hassan Assad).  “As a matter of fact, I’m going to wear a Hurricanes jersey out to the ring.  I’m going to wear my orange, green and white Hurricane ring gear with a jersey on top because it’s all about The U.  And The U invented swag and in professional wrestling, nobody has more swag than MVP.”

The last time he wrestled in the United States, it was in 2010 with World Wrestling Entertainment.  After a successful five years with the company, he decided it was time for a change.

RAW logo black

It was announced on Friday that Hulk Hogan would be on last night’s WWE Monday Night Raw. WWE didn’t announce who else would be returning, but fans were under the assumption that Brock Lesnar and The Undertaker would be returning on the show as well.

The fans were right and they tuned in as Raw drew a 3.31 rating with an average of 4.65 million viewers. That was up from last week’s show as that show scored a 3.08 rating with an average of 4.36 million viewers.

The first hour which opened with the return of Hogan and featured a match between Batista and Alberto Del Rio followed by a Randy Orton promo averaged 4.89 million viewers, the second hour featured the John Cena/Bray Wyatt segment and the beginning of the Daniel Bryan vs Kane match averaged 4.78 million viewers. The final hour featured the rest of the Bryan/Kane match and the show closing segment with Lesnar and The Undertaker averaged 4.31 million viewers.

Are you surprised the rating wasn’t higher or was it right where you expected?

How Would You Grade Last Night’s WWE Elimination Chamber PPV?

danielbryanyesshirt

The WWE Elimination Chamber pay-per-view took place last night. In the main event of the show, Randy Orton retained the WWE world heavyweight championship defeating Daniel Bryan, John Cena, Christian, Sheamus and Cesaro. We also a six-man tag match that was an early candidate for the match of the year between The Wyatt Family and The Shield.

What To Expect Tonight On WWE Monday Night Raw

orton ec

WWE.com has released its preview for tonight’s edition of WWE Raw so here is what you should expect on the show.

Randy Orton walked out of last night’s Elimination Chamber match still the WWE World Heavyweight Champion. Orton defeated Daniel Bryan to retain the title thanks to the help of the WWE Director of Operations, Kane. Orton now heads to the WrestleMania 30 main event against Batista. Would assume that we will see a confrontation between the two stars.

Bryan coming off a devastating loss to Orton will be looking for retribution against Kane. Will Bryan get revenge tonight against “The Big Red Machine”? Will be interesting how Bryan is used on the show tonight. Would think we would see a match tonight or somehow gets inserted into the WWE World Heavyweight Championship match at Wrestlemania.

We will see the return of former WWE champion Hulk Hogan on the show. What will Hogan’s role on the show be? Would think we will see Hogan give a big boot to a fellow WWE superstar.

John Cena lost his chance at the WWE World Heavyweight Championship when the Wyatt Family attacked Cena, who got pinned by Orton. It will be interesting to see how Cena reacts to losing his opportunity to main event Wrestlemania.

Would also think we will start to get more clarity of the top matches for Wrestlemania. Also it is rumored that Brock Lesnar and The Undertaker will be on the show, so it will be intriguing how they get to the expected between the superstars.

JPOV: This was the best Chamber PPV out of the five. Besides the Cameron and AJ Lee Match and Darren vs. Titus, this show was off the charts. The Shield vs. The Wyatt Family match was epic that is all that needs to be said. Batista had a solid outing with Del Rio despite a very disrespectful crowd. Loved the chamber match sorry folks Bryan shouldn’t have won the title at the chamber PPV.

Top Matches In The History Of WWE Elimination Chamber

elimination chamber

The WWE Elimination Chamber pay-per-view takes place tonight from the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The main event features the Elimination Chamber match with Randy Orton defending the WWE world heavyweight championship against Cesaro, Christian, Daniel Bryan, John Cena and Sheamus.

The first Elimination Chamber match took place at the 2002 Survivor Series. Tonight’s match will be the 17th chamber match in WWE history. Chris Jericho has competed in the most chamber matches at eight and Triple H has the most victories at four.

We are now going to take a look at the top matches inside the Elimination Chamber.

3)  No Way Out  2009: Edge walked into this event as the WWE champion. The Smackdown chamber kicked off the night as Edge defended the title against Triple H, The Undertaker, Jeff Hardy and Big Show and Vladimir Kozlov. The champion didn’t last long as he was pinned by Jeff Hardy about 2:30 into the match. The match came down to Undertaker and Triple H with HHH winning the match to become the WWE champion.

The former champion wasn’t done for the night as the main event of the show was the Raw chamber match featuring John Cena defending the world heavyweight championship against Chris Jericho, Kane, Mike Knox, Rey Mysterio and Kofi Kingston.

As Kingston was making his way to the cage, Edge attacked him from behind and threw him into the ringside steps and then grabbed hit Kingston over the head with a chair. Edge then ran into one of the chamber pods and inserted himself into the match. Cena ended up being the third man eliminated as he was speared and pinned by Edge. The match came down to Edge and Mysterio. Edge threw Mysterio through the pod glass and put Mysterio back into the ring, speared him and became the new world heavyweight champion. Edge was the only WWE superstar to ever compete in two chamber matches in one night.

2) No Way Out 2008: The Undertaker is nearing the end of his Hall of Fame career. The Undertaker has only competed in three chamber matches in his career. Taker was in the 2008 match with Batista, MVP, Big Daddy V, Finlay and Great Khali to determine the number one contender for the world heavyweight championship. The final two participants were Taker and Batista. In a unique ending, Batista was on the outside with his back to the ring and Taker lifted Batista over the ropes for tombstone piledriver and the pinfall victory. That was The Undertaker’s lone chamber victory.

1) Survivor Series 2002: This was the first time that the match ever took place. The match featured HHH defending the world heavyweight championship against Shawn Michaels, Rob Van Dam, Booker T, Chris Jericho and Kane. One of the highlights of the match was Van Dam doing a five star frog splash and landing on HHH and causing a severe throat injury. The ending of the match came down to HHH and Michaels with Michaels back body dropping HHH from a pedigree and landing “Sweet Chin Music” to capture the title in a thrilling match.
