UFC News: Carlos Condit Stops Martin Kampmann In Rematch

Carlos Condit avenged his first UFC loss in a big way. The former UFC interim welterweight champion defeated Martin Kampmann by fourth round TKO last night at UFC Fight Night 27.

Condit got off to a sluggish start in the first round when Kampmann took Condit down and controlled the rest of the round.

The second round started with Kampmann trying to secure the takedown again, but Condit was able to stuff the takedowns and was able to control the round with his standup.

The third round Condit was able to continue his momentum with Kampmann starting to fade. Condit landed a nice combination that opened up a cut over Kampmann’s eye. Kampmann was able to finally land a takedown, but Condit countered very quickly and took Kampmann’s back. The fight got back to both fighters on their feet, but Condit controlled the rest of the round with his standup.

The fourth and final round started with Kampmann securing a takedown, but Condit was able to bounce back on his feet. Condit was then able to press the action and shocked Kampmann with a left hook and Condit then poured it on with knees and punches, then referee Herb Dean stopped the fight 54 seconds into the fourth round.
