Report: MMA Fighters Involved In Biogenesis Probe

If you thought MMA would be free of the Biogenesis scandal, you would be wrong.

Today on ESPN’s, ‘Outside the Lines’, former Biogenesis employee turned whistleblower Porter Fisher said that MMA fighters were also on the client list. The other sports include MLB, NFL, NBA and professional boxing.

Fisher hasn’t released the client list at this current time.

After having issues regarding payment with Biogenesis founder Tony Boesch, Fisher had sent documents in 2012 to the Miami New Times. Boesch has started cooperating with various sports leagues and has so far led to a 65 game suspension of MLB star and 2011 NL MVP Ryan Braun. There have also been reports that former AL MVP Alex Rodriguez and about 20 other MLB could be facing suspension as well.

Fisher’s goal to get a federal investigation of Biogenesis and Bosch never came to fruition. Fischer said Bosch passed himself off as a medical doctor, even though he has no medical degree. Bosch previously administered Fischer weight-loss regimens of prescription drugs, and Fischer ultimately invested in the company and briefly became its marketing director before the backpay issues.

During the interview, Fisher did not say where the MMA fighters resided.

“In just the four years that I know, it’s got to be well over a hundred (involved athletes), easy,” he told “Outside the Lines.” “It’s almost scary to think about how many people have gone through [Bosch's treatments] and how long he’s gotten away with this.”
