WWE Friday Night Smackdown Spoilers For Friday April 25, 2014

smackdown

WWE Friday Night Smackdown tapings took place last night in Hershey, Pennsylvania. The show will air on Friday night on the SyFy channel starting at 8 p.m. ET. Here is what happened at the tapings.

The show opened with Vickie Guerrero announcing the Authority had the night off and The Shield would have another 3 on 11 match. She set a debate between Paul Heyman and Zeb Colter. Heyman used most of his time to talk about Brock Lesnar. Zeb and Heyman argued until it was broken up.

-Cesaro (w/Paul Heyman) beat Jack Swagger (w/Zeb Colter). Cesaro pinned Swagger with the Neutralizer. Cesaro was getting face reactions. The Shield hit the ring after the match and took out Swagger with the Superman punch and a Triple Powerbomb. They said Swagger didn’t adapt. It looks like they will be doing this all night, as they said they weren’t done.

-Tamina defeated Natalya. Tamina dominated most of the match and got the pin after a superkick.

The Shield took out 3MB backstage. Triple H called Vickie and told her to take the night off. Brad Maddox showed up and said he’d take care of it.

-Curtis Axel pinned Jey Uso. Axel won with a swinging neckbreaker. Very flat match.

The cage lowered and the Wyatt Family came to the ring. Bray Wyatt said John Cena was losing his people and it’s their fault for what happened. He received a big pop, especially from a Hershey crowd, which has always been pro Cena. He ended by singing on top of the cage.

-Erick Rowan and Luke Harper defeated Cody Rhodes and Goldust. Cody was on the top rope and Goldust was pushed into him and he flew off.

The Shield attacked Brad Maddox in the GM office… Santino and Emma came to the ring, followed by Fandango and Layla. The Shield stopped Fandango on the stage and have him the Triple Powerbomb off the stage.

-The Shield defeated Ryback, Titus O’Neil, Damien Sandow, Alberto Del Rio, and Bad News Barrett in a handicap match. Barrett was protected and ran off, but The Shield took out everyone and got a decent reaction. This concluded the Smackdown television taping.

After the taping, The Shield fought The Wyatt Family, but it was not an actual match.

The Good, The Bad And The Dirty From Last Night’s WWE Monday Night Raw

Photo from WWE.com

Photo from WWE.com

WWE Monday Night Raw took place in Birmingham, Alabama. The show followed last week’s show, which featured the coronation of Daniel Bryan as the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion and an epic Paul Heyman promo regarding Brock Lesnar’s win against The Undertaker at Wrestlemania 30. How would WWE follow up after quite arguably the best Raw of 2014?

The Good

1) Bray Wyatt Promo: Thank god Wyatt was out there with John Cena because if it was anybody else, this segment would have been in the gutter. Cena was being Cena and goofing off about how each member of the family would look if they were somebody else and then made of fun of Bray referring to him in a Cinnabon type of manner. Loved how Bray was able to turn it around and say when Cena feels threatened he makes corny jokes, which in turn made Cena get serious and that’s when he is at his best.

2) Number One Contender Tournament For The Intercontinental Title: Smart move by WWE as they have to start making these mid-card titles feel important. The IC title used to be held in high prestige, but in the last 15 years it hasn’t felt important at all. We seen some good first round matches on the show and this is a good way to give more guys something meaningful.

The Bad

3) Daniel Bryan and Kane program: If this was the title program one year ago, this would have been a better idea. Why would you go with this program? Kane regaining his mask and becoming a monster would have worked ten years ago, but now, not so much. The matches between these two in the past have been average at best. Common thought would have been Triple H vs Bryan for the title as that is still a hot program based off what those two did at Wrestlemania and last week’s Raw. Let’s just hope this lasts until Extreme Rules and we get to more serious challengers.

4) The Return of Evolution: You could tell what the world was thinking as soon as their music hit and the crowd was flatter than a pancake. When I think of top factions, Evolution doesn’t even register in my mind. I respect all three guys, but they are more known for their individual feats than for being together. Obviously the premise here is to get The Shield over, so hopefully this is another program that lasts one month and it is done.

The Dirty

5) The Ultimate Warrior Tribute: Even seven days later, it is still weird to think Warrior isn’t alive. The tribute video was well done as no one does a video package like the WWE. Also liked the fact that you had all the superstars on the ramp and even Vince McMahon up there. Then you had a few superstars who had Warrior shirts and facepaint on. Very classy tribute by a company who had their trials and tribulations with Warrior throughout the years.

What To Expect On Tonight’s WWE Monday Night Raw

bryand

Tonight’s WWE Monday Night Raw takes place in Birmingham, Alabama. We are one week removed from a historic show as we saw Daniel Bryan appear as the WWE World Heavyweight Champion, The Shield aligning with the champion, an epic promo by Paul Heyman on Brock Lesnar ending “The Streak” and Cesaro being the new Paul Heyman guy. What can we expect on tonight’s show?

The show tonight will feature a tribute to The Ultimate Warrior, who passed away this past Tuesday at the age of 54. I wouldn’t expect it to be just a whole show showing his best matches and things like that. Expect to see various WWE personal and talent to have video interviews with their thoughts on Warrior and clips of some of his greatest WWE moments.

Would also expect to see the top matches made for Extreme Rules, which takes in three weeks from the Izod Center in East Rutherford, New Jersey. From the way Raw ended last week, I would go with Bryan vs Triple H in the main event and the top underneath match by The Shield vs Kane, Randy Orton and Batista. Their was an ad that came out from the Izod Center over the weekend saying John Cena will be facing Bray Wyatt in an “extreme match”, so we will see if that gets made tonight as well.

Think we will see Cesaro and Paul Heyman continue to feud with Jack Swagger and Zeb Coulter to lead to a match at an Extreme Rules. The Cesaro/Heyman pairing is the best thing to happen to Cesaro as now he doesn’t have to talk and let Heyman do that aspect for him.

WWE Monday Night Raw starts at 8 p.m. ET on the USA Network.

The Good, The Bad And The Dirty From Last Night’s WWE Monday Night Raw

Photo from WWE.com

Photo from WWE.com

Last night’s Raw was the first one since Wrestlemania 30 on Sunday where we saw Daniel Bryan won the WWE World Heavyweight Title and “The Streak” was ended when Brock Lesnar defeated The Undertaker. As we stated earlier, the show ended drawing the highest rating since July of 2012 and higher than the last two post-Mania Raw numbers. Here is the good, the bad and the dirty of last night’s show.

The Good

1) Opening segment: This couldn’t have come off any better as Bryan came out to cut a promo. The crowd treated him as a major star and was unbelievable to see how long the crowd sustained the chant and you can tell Bryan was overtaken by the moment. Was cool to see Bryan thank the fans for what they did for him. Triple H and Stephanie McMahon came out at the perfect time and had tremendous heat. HHH right now is doing some of the best work of his career and really is putting over Bryan.

2) Six man tag match: Very good match between the six guys and was the right move for Bray to score the pinfall. The crowd was really into Wyatt’s as they were chanting “Let’s Go Wyatt and Let’s Go Harper”. The fans absolutely detested Cena unlike the night before and Sheamus played off the booing real well. Wasn’t a real fan of Big E taking the pin though as he has been getting pinned often lately and would have rather seen Sheamus take the fall as it would have meant a little more.

3) Final Segment: I had seen all night after the opening segment that fans were worried on social media that HHH was going to defeat Bryan and win the title. Really liked how WWE kept Randy Orton and Batista strong and beating up Bryan until Kane came out and gave him a chokeslam. I did think for a small moment that HHH was going to pin Bryan when he walked down to the ring. You could see The Shield coming out and defending Bryan when Stephanie was talking to The Shield. I had goosebumps when we seen the four vs four showdown as you can see that it’s the old guard vs the new guard. If I had to guess today, it will be a Bryan vs HHH title match and The Shield vs Kane, Batista and Orton at Extreme Rules.

The Bad

4) Nothing: Usually when you watch a show, you can find something wrong with it. With this show you really couldn’t. Even the things that didn’t involve top level even had a purpose. WWE hit the reset button here and this was the best way to go forward.

The Dirty

5) Brock Lesnar/Paul Heyman Promo: The wrestling world was unglued when Lesnar defeated The Undertaker at Wrestlemania. The key was going to be the followup to the match. Heyman cut perhaps the best promo ever done by a manager. If you had any doubts about “The Streak”, they should have been wiped away with this promo. Lesnar regained all the momentum he had seemed to lose in the buildup and even his return. Lesnar had great facial expressions by playing to his shirt, snarling and growling. Looks like Lesnar will be taking a little bit of a hiatus and be fresh for a summer run.

WWE Monday Night Raw Rating Draws Hightest Number Since July 2012

bryand

Last night was the Raw after Wrestlemania which usually draws a high number, but this number blew away expectations. Last night’s show drew a 3.7 rating with an average of 5.14 million viewers. That is the highest rating since Raw 1,000 in July of 2012, which drew a 3.84 rating.
Last year’s post-Mania number was a 3.45 rating with an average of 4.63 million viewers.

The first hour averaged 5.31 million viewers, which featured the opening segment of a promo by the new WWE World Heavyweight Daniel Bryan and a six man tag featuring John Cena, Sheamus and Big E vs The Wyatt Family. The second hour averaged 5.09 million viewers, which featured the Paul Heyman/Brock Lesnar promo and the final hour averaged 5.03 million viewers, which featured a promo by The Ultimate Warrior, Hulk Hogan presenting the Andre the Giant Memorial Trophy to Cesaro and the final segment featuring the non-match with Bryan and Triple H and the inclusion of Kane, Randy Orton, Batista and The Shield.

Brock Lesnar Shouldn’t Lose Until He Leaves WWE

brock wm 30

Brock Lesnar did the unthinkable at WWE Wrestlemania 30 on Sunday and defeated The Undertaker to end the WrestleMania undefeated streak at 21. When the three count was made, shockwaves were sent throughout the world as headlines were circulating online regarding the end of “The Streak”. On last night’s WWE Monday Night Raw, Lesnar’s manager Paul Heyman cut one of the greatest promos of all time touting how Lesnar ended the streak. The question is now, what do you with Brock Lesnar?

With Lesnar’s limited schedule it is a little tricky unless he agrees to do more dates as his current contract expires after next year’s Wrestlemania 31.

Heyman stated earlier in the year that Lesnar should be competing for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. That case is definitely for real now that Lesnar did break “The Streak”. You can’t put him in there with Daniel Bryan just yet, as the new champion would have to go over and would make Lesnar’s win at Mania seem pointless.

You don’t have to even put Lesnar in with Bryan. If you do that program, it shouldn’t be until Royal Rumble at the earliest, but preferably Wrestlemania 31 with Lesnar going in as the champion. I would have Lesnar run through everybody until that point as you have to make him look like a monster. For the next year, I would have Lesnar beat guys like Batista, Randy Orton, John Cena until he loses.

Lesnar broke the greatest streak in the history of professional wrestling. The guy who beats Lesnar has to be the guy who is going to be the number one guy in your company and will be building the WWE around. Your options include Daniel Bryan, Cesaro, Roman Reigns to name a few.

No one knows if Brock Lesnar will sign another deal with the WWE when his contract near expiration, but he shouldn’t lose until he leaves the WWE for good.

Video: Paul Heyman Cuts Epic Promo on Raw Bragging on End of Streak

heymanbrockbrag“We hate to told you so, but we told you so!” – Paul Heyman, Monday Night Raw April 7, 2014.

No one saw it coming at WrestleMania 30 with Brock Lesnar being the one to end The Undertaker’s legendary streak, leaving the audience with their jaws dropped and some even driven to tears.

The crowd at Raw the following night was still buzzing following the loss and not to happy about it either.

That set up the perfect atmosphere for one Paul Heyman to do his thing in front of this raucous audience.  And he was up to the challenge, relishing the moment alongside the conqueror Brock Lesnar.

Heyman proceded to deliver one of the most epic, glorious promos you will ever hear and possible the greatest one in his three decade career, toying with the fan’s emotional and pulling them in every direction.

Here is the video of his promo in its entirety:

The Good, The Bad And The Dirty From Last Night’s WWE Monday Night Raw

Photo from WWE.com

Photo from WWE.com

Last night’s edition of WWE Monday Night Raw took place in Washington D.C. and was the final Raw before WrestleMania 30 on Sunday in New Orleans. We give you what was the good, the bad and the dirty from last night’s show.

The Good

1) John Cena Promo: It was a good night for Cena. The first time we seen him out was when he stood in the ring with the Wyatt’s in Duke “The Dumpster” Droese garb and a sheep’s mask after Bray Wyatt’s match with R-Truth. Cena then cut an emotional backstage interview with Renee Young telling her that,”You will see fire, you will see hell, and you will see rage and John Cena will be a monster.” Behind the nonsensical Jimmy Buffet reference a few weeks back, Cena has cut some very good promos heading into Wrestlemania. Wish we would see more consistent promos from Cena in every program.

2) Opening Segment: I was very down on what WWE did last week making Brock Lesnar look weak again with The Undertaker. It was a very smart move by WWE opening with Taker and Lesnar to combat the series finale of “How I Met Your Mother”. Liked when Taker used the line, “there are three things that can’t be beat: Death, Taxes, and The Streak. That line made it seem how important The Streak is to everyday life. Paul Heyman was his usual spot on self comparing Lesnar winning this Sunday to Hulk Hogan defeating Andre the Giant at Wrestlemania 3. Liked how Lesnar walked around the ring and thinking about whether to get into the ring with Taker. Was smart for Heyman to distract Taker with Lesnar giving a vicious clothesline and the F5. Only bad thing was I wish Lesnar would have done another F5, but this segment left fans with some doubt of whether The Streak will continue on after Wrestlemania.

The Bad

3) Piper’s Pit: Roddy Piper felt that he should be on Wrestlemania 30 and do a Piper’s Pit with Hulk Hogan due to the happenings at Wrestlemania 1. Well, thankfully we got this last night. Piper looked lost a couple times in promoting the Andre the Giant Battle Royal. The eye gouge was awful and unnecessary. This was a waste of time and their could have been a better way to promote the Battle Royal.

4) Big E vs Alberto Del Rio: This doesn’t get a bad due to the match, as it wasn’t horrible. This was bad to the finish. The logic behind the Intercontinental champion losing a non-title match to a guy who hasn’t won a lot of matches in awhile. Big E should be defending the title instead of being in the Battle Royal. All titles should be defended at Wrestlemania as you can always throw guys in the Battle Royal to fill the ring.

The Dirty

5) Closing Segment: This a good dirty. Behind a few things, this was looking like a dreadful show heading into the final segment of the show. The Batista vs Randy Orton match was a good match considering what we have seen from Batista since his return in January. Liked how Bryan came out through the crowd and attacked Triple H. It was good to see Bryan get the better of Batista and Orton as well as it gives the fans hope that he will walk out of Wrestlemania with the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Thought it was a smart move by WWE to keep Bryan off of last week’s Raw as it meant more last night as Bryan got the biggest pop of the show. Will Bryan win the title on Sunday? We will find out.

The Good, The Bad And The Dirty From WWE Monday Night Raw

wwe logo

The second to last of edition of WWE Monday Night Raw before WrestleMania 30 took place last night in Brooklyn, New York. Highlights of the show included a sitdown interview with Triple H, the opening segment with Stephanie McMahon, Batista, and Randy Orton and a John Cena vs Luke Harper match. Starting with this article, we will be giving you the good, the bad and the dirty from each edition of Raw.

The Good

1) John Cena vs Luke Harper: The more I see Luke Harper, the more he impresses me. He has a style mixed with Barry Windham and Bruiser Brody. Cena and Harper had a 15 minute plus match and showed that Cena can work with guys not named Bryan, Orton and Punk. You can tell that Cena is still injured, but is still giving his all and you can tell in this match. The ending was well done to where both guys didn’t have to take the pinfall. Was also good to see Bray Wyatt get the upperhand on Cena once again and create more doubt going into their match at WrestleMania 30.

2) Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins vs The Real Americans: The match started really slow, but really picked up in the last six-seven minutes when Ambrose started to make his comeback. The more I see Rollins, the more I like him as he is finally getting to show the great ring work he possesses. Rollins is very fluid in the moves that he does and gets the crowd behind him in the process. It is good to see WWE keep The Shield together and as babyface with as a lot of money can be made with them on the other side of the spectrum. The only bad thing was Cesaro taking the pin, but that can be forgotten about by the time Smackdown rolls around.

The Bad

1) Opening Segment featuring Stephanie McMahon, Batista and Randy Orton: The segment started good with Stephanie McMahon addressing the fact that Daniel Bryan wouldn’t be on the show due to last week’s beatdown by Triple H. That changed quickly when Orton came out and cut a bland promo about how he respects The Authority and doesn’t disagree with anything she said, but then says he will take no prisoners if HHH gets by Bryan at WrestleMania. Batista was no better when he came out especially when his microphone went and did a mic check. Batista is really missing something with his promos as he can’t pronounce WWE and is lacking emotion when he is out there. Orton taking another spear does nothing to believe that he has any chance of walking out of Mania with the title. Let’s be thankful that this match isn’t a singles match as the WWE would be in a lot of trouble.

2) Titus O’Neil vs The Big Show: Very confusing as to why this match was even happening. If WWE was putting on the match because Show was facing Bray Wyatt in the main event of Friday Nigh Smackdown, then it could have just been advertised and left at that.

The Dirty

1) Final Segment featuring Brock Lesnar and The Undertaker: This segment did nothing to get me interested whatsoever and I don’t fault Paul Heyman. He has done everything in his power to get the match over, but he can only do so much. You would think that since Lesnar and Taker haven’t been in the same ring together in almost a month, you would think Lesnar would get his revenge for Taker putting him through a table. But we got druids bringing out a casket and Lesnar kicking at it a few times before it opened and Taker rose from it. Made no sense whatsoever for Taker to one up Lesnar once again as it seems like the WWE is trying to get by on the fact that the old school and hardcore fans will want to see the match. WWE better do something next week to get the fans more interested or they will be in a lot of trouble heading into a match that you should have been easy to book.

What To Expect On Tonight’s WWE Monday Night Raw

RAW logo black

WWE Monday Night Raw takes place from the AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas. Last Monday’s Raw ended with Daniel Bryan pinning WWE World Heavyweight Champion Randy Orton.

We are 20 days away from Wrestlemania 30 at the Mercedes Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana. What can we expect on tonight’s edition of Raw as we inch closer to the biggest event of the year?

On last week’s show, Bryan “Occupied Raw” and got his long awaited match with HHH at Wrestlemania, with the caveat of if he defeats “The Game”, he will go onto to the main event of the Wrestlemania 30 to face Orton and Batista. HHH stated that he will address Bryan on the show tonight. Expect some sort of confrontation with the two and possibly an appearance by Shawn Michaels. “The Heartbreak Kid” resides in San Antonio, so maybe we see him confront either guy.

The Undertaker will also be in the house tonight. Paul Heyman has stated that he is in Texas, so expect either separate promos or another confrontation like we saw last week. Brock Lesnar isn’t scheduled for tonight’s show as he will be on the show the last two weeks prior to Wrestlemania.

Orton and Batista will also be in the house as well. Would expect them to get involved with each other as Batista speared the champion during the main event tag team match. Or could they unite to try and take out Bryan? Could see both scenarios playing out to create more intrigue for the main event of Wrestlemania as both guys need to generate more of a reaction for themselves heading into the big show in about three weeks.

What To Expect On Tonight’s WWE Monday Night Raw

wwe logo

Tonight’s WWE Monday Night Raw takes place from the FedEx Forum in Memphis, Tennessee. At the end of last week’s Raw, Batista faced Daniel Bryan in the main event with Kane and HHH getting involved. Bryan was able to thwart them before before getting speared and a Batista bomb. HHH then ensued to give Bryan a pedigree to end the show.

On tonight’s show we expect to hear from Bryan regarding the attack and once again call out the WWE COO. With four weeks until WrestleMania 30, one would assume that HHH will accept Bryan’s challenge for the match.

Also on tonight’s show, The Undertaker is scheduled to appear to make an announcement. “The Deadman” was also advertised last week, but he will be in Memphis tonight. It is expected that The Undertaker will address the comments made last week by his WrestleMania 30 opponent Brock Lesnar and his manager Paul Heyman. The duo isn’t expected to be on tonight’s show.

WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan will also be in the house for tonight’s show. The guest host of WrestleMania 30 will be making a special announcement regarding the big show taking place in four weeks. What will the big announcement be?

Will Hogan make a WrestleMania match? Will it be an announcement regarding the WWE Hall of Fame? Tune into tonight’s Raw starting at 8 p.m. ET on USA to find out.

WWE Raw Reaction 3/3/2014: “The Dumbest Thing I’ve Ever Seen”

Bryan Triple H

It wasn’t a matter of if the hometown Chicago crowd was going to steal the show, but when. Luckily, WWE’s creative team was smart enough to recognize this, and they attacked the CM Punk issue head-on. As a result, Paul Heyman gave us one of the most tangible, addictive show openings in recent history. Notice that Heyman didn’t directly attack Punk… instead, he played off the hopes of the fans by coming out to Punk’s music – thus taking the proverbial wind out of the crowd – and then proceeded to blame everybody in attendance for Punk not being there. He earned their jeers. This was another “Paul Heyman Instant Classic,” and it did a great job of setting the tone for Monday Night. [Read more...]

First Match: Alberto Del Rio vs. Batista

Batista goes right at Alberto and punches him in the corner, then he whips him across the ring and connects with a clothesline. Alberto rolls outside but Batista throws him into the barricade, then he rolls him inside, but Alberto kicks him in the shoulder. Alberto punches him a few times but Batista clotheslines him on the floor, then he goes after him but Alberto sweeps his legs and knocks him on the apron. Alberto whips him into the ring steps as we cut to a break.

Back from the break and Del Rio has control as he stomps away on Batista. Del Rio stalls and shows off as Batista gets up. He runs the ropes and charges but Batista moves and Del Rio lands out on the floor. Del Rio drops Batista over the top rope. Del Rio goes up top but Batista cuts him off. Batista nails a superplex. They get up and trade shots in the middle of the ring. Batista with clotheslines and a big slam for a two count. Del Rio turns it around and readies for the superkick. Del Rio misses the kick and comes back with a stomp. Batista side steps again and his a spinebuster. The crowd boos. Randy Orton’s music hits and out he comes to a big pop. Del Rio takes advantage of the distraction and rolls Batista up for the win.

Winner: Alberto Del Rio

Orton takes the mic and apologizes for interrupting. Orton says Batista has been distracted since the days of Evolution. Orton says that loss just now was one of the funniest things he’s seen. He calls the WWE Universe’s reaction to Batista’s return funny also. Orton says the fans don’t like Batista very much. Orton bets Batista is sorry that he came back. A huge CM Punk chant starts before Batista speaks. He says Orton is wrong. Batista tells everyone to get it through their head – he loves this business. Fans boo. Something else he loves is that the fans have a voice. But so does he, he says. He says if they cheer him, he cheers back. If they boo, he boos back. It’s called being real and honest, something Orton knows nothing about. Batista says all that matters is that he goes to WrestleMania and beats the hell out of who he used to call his friend. Batista calls Orton a whiny, sniffling, kiss ass, suck up. Batista says we’re looking at the next WWE World Heavyweight Champion and to deal with it. He drops the mic and the music plays as Orton looks on from the stage with his titles in the air.

Second Match: Cesaro w/Zeb Colter and Jack Swagger vs. Big  E

They lock up and Big E goes to a headlock. A “we the people” chant starts up. They run the ropes and Big E hits a big shoulder tackle. Cesaro goes to the floor.

Cesaro comes back in and slams Big E. They trade shots. Cesaro with uppercuts and knees to the gut of Big E. More back and forth action. Big E hits two big throws and a shoulder thrust in the corner and Big E goes for a two count. Cesaro turns it around with uppercuts and a big boot to the face. JPOV: Awesome edition of Monday Night RAW. Loved the matches that involved~ Daniel Bryan vs. Kane, Sheamus vs. Christian, and Roman Regins vs. Bray Wyatt. Loved the promo from Daniel Bryan. The low point for me with this Raw was the commentary from JBL. I thought Batista had a better match with Del Rio then they did at the Elimination Chamber. Enjoyed the interaction with The Wyatt Family and John Cena. This show needed more of The Authority. You can’t go wrong with the return of Hulk Hogan just a great moment for the WWE. Of course the last segment right there with Brock Lesnar and Undertaker that was AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!
