JPOV: A very good edition of Monday Night RAW. Alot of progression in storylines heading into the Elimination Chamber PPV. I enjoyed the six man tag team match with The Wyatt Family taking on Rey Mysterio and The Rhodes Brothers. Two other great tag team matches tonight with Sheamus and Christian beating Real Americans and The Usos beating Rybaxel.
Betty White as a guest star was really funny tonight one of the better celebrities that’s been on RAW in the last couple of years. Good to see Daniel Bryan getting more promo time tonight with The Authority. I’m excited to see the Daniel Bryan and Kane match. Good outing for Batista who shine tonight with his attack on Alberto Del Rio. Like seeing Batista being the big destructive monster instead the casual jacked up guy thats talk each time he comes out.
The John Cena and Randy Orton match wasn’t that bad either even though the fans in Los Angeles were trying to get their selves over. Overall a fun night on RAW which was needed on this road to the Elimination Chamber. Also congratulations to Lita who will be in the WWE Hall of Fame this year joining the Ultimate Warrior and Jake “The Snake” Roberts.

JPOV: Very entertaining edition of SmackDown tonight. I really enjoy the matches tonight besides the Bray Wyatt/Goldust match and divas match. Daniel Bryan look very strong tonight with his match with Antonio Cesaro plus his promo earlier in the night with Kane. Those thinking this is going to be a throw away match with Kane and Bryan well I have to disagree these guys have history with each other and they had good matches in the past i.e. SummerSlam 2012. I enjoyed the promos from The Shield and The Wyatts. The Sheamus and Ryback match came as a surprise to me, but they delivered and I really hope these guys face each other again in the future. Christian and Randy Orton match was what I expected to be, but I wasn’t disappointed I’m happy that while Orton is in this Authority Gaunlet he is not losing every match before the PPV.

We haven’t seen Jake “The Snake” Roberts in the WWE since 2005. Roberts has had share of demons since he has left the company that have been well documented. Over a year ago, Roberts enlisted the help of his good friend, fellow WWE legend Diamond Dallas Page. Roberts has gotten back on the right path since he has gotten the help from Page.
Roberts had stated that his goal was to get back to the WWE and compete at this year’s Royal Rumble. We don’t have to wait that long.
After the main event of last night’s WWE Monday Night that featured Roman Reigns defeating CM Punk. The Shield then beat down Punk and then Roberts music hit and he came out with the snake in a bag. The New Age Outlaws and Punk beat up Reigns and Seth Rollins, which left Dean Ambrose in the ring. Roberts put the snake on a lying Ambrose.
In recent years, it seems like tag-team wrestling has taken a back seat to singles competition. Compared to the tag-team division of the late 80s and 90s, modern sports entertainment has seemed content to pair up random singles wrestlers to be partners, in a “throw it on the wall and see what sticks” mentality. And it’s been…. fine. Luckily, WWE decided to up its game in 2013. We finally got to see some lower-to-mid card acts rise as the company refocused on building legitimate teams. And, perhaps most surprisingly, WWE’s tag-team competition became more interesting than a certain other major wrestling organization. But which team rose to the top? [Read more...]

Here are the categories and predictions for each award:
The opening segment should’ve been right up my alley. CM Punk? Count me in… except, unfortunately, this feud with The Shield seems completely superfluous. Put Punk one-on-one with ANY of these three men (yes, even Seth Rollins) and my interested might be perked. But the idea of a 3-on-1 handicap matching being the attraction on a major PPV really grinds my gears. [Read more...]
The WWE held their Smackdown tapings in Uncasville, Connecticut. The show will air on Friday night on the SyFy channel starting at 8 p.m. ET. Here is what happened at the tapings.
- JBL and Michael Cole came out to announce for Smackdown. Renee Young was in the ring to start. She asked us to welcome her guest, the face of WWE, Randy Orton. She asked about the controversy from Sunday’s title match against the Big Show. Orton claimed Big Show hadn’t knocked him out, he was playing possum. Orton said he didn’t need The Authority to win, and they tainted his victory. Renee then threw to a video package from Raw on the unification match setup. She asked Randy how that made him feel. She kept prompting him with adjectives, but Randy got annoyed with her and left the ring and walked up the ramp.
- Vickie Guerrero appeared on the Titantron to talk about Thanksgiving and have the superstars compete in a food eating contest. I couldn’t tell who because I couldn’t see the screen. Banal comedy.
- Mark Henry (w/Big E Langston) defeated Curtis Axel (w/Ryback). Henry won quickly with the World’s Strongest Slam. Apparently, this tag team feud continues.
- Another Thanksgiving skit aired on the blocked TitanTron. It sounded like it somehow involved R-Truth. There were more Thanksgiving skits after a commercial break. Yay. It sounded like Titus O’Neil won some contest and the right to compete against Antonio Cesaro.
- Los Matadores and El Torito beat The Plymouth Rockers (a/k/a 3MB). Wow, this show is getting better and better. Oh, but El Torito is wrestling and it’s a six man tag! Has that happened before? I’m not sure, I usually fast forward though both these teams matches. Los Matadores won quickly, thankfully.
But don’t worry! This show is saved! Brodus Clay and Tensai are out! I seriously feel like I’m at a house show right now. But at this point I guess Smackdown is pretty much the same thing.
- Tons of Funk beat R-Truth and Xavier Woods. Tons of Funk surprisingly won after Brodus splashed Xavier from the second rope. I guess Creed (a/k/a Woods) isn’t a priority.
- CM Punk was then interviewed by Young. He said he hadn’t heard from Daniel Bryan since he was kidnapped. He said he was injured and banged up. Then he said he didn’t know why The Shield attacked him. He said that maybe it was because they were carrying out orders from people with authority. Punk didn’t really seem to care about the fact he hadn’t heard from Bryan.
- Antonio Cesaro (w/Jack Swagger, Zeb Colter) by Titus O’Neil by DQ. No promo from Zeb. Antonio Cesaro started to spin Titus, but D-Young broke it up for the DQ. Odd. Titus then “vomited” into JBL’s hat as a result of the spin. Titus then shoved the hat in Michael Cole’s face. Titus then vomited on Zeb. More pointless comedy. Who writes this stuff?
- Bray Wyatt gave a promo on the Titantron in which he basically claimed that the Wyatts would turn Bryan into a monster.
- Cody Rhodes and Goldust beat Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns by DQ to retain the WWE Tag Team Championship. Lilian gave in-ring introductions, partly to give it a big match feel and partly because the microphone stopped working in the middle of the the Rhodes Brothers entrance. Ambrose was on commentary with JBL and Cole. A solid match, but not up to the par of their previous contests, partly due to the lack of crowd involvement because they were dead for the past hour plus of filler. Cody hit CrossRhodes on Rollins, but Dean Ambrose ran out causing the DQ.
- CM Punk came win a chair to even the odds, and Vickie made it a six man tag. Punk had the biggest pop of the night by far.
- CM Punk, Cody Rhodes, and Goldust beat The Shield by DQ when The Wyatt Family interfered. At one point in the match, the Wyatt’s came out and stood on the stage, drawing Daniel Bryan chants. Then they attacked Cody and Goldust, causing a DQ. The Shield then attacked Punk, and the Usos and Mysterio ran out and made the save.
- Vickie made a 12 man tag rematch from last weeks raw, except with Rey Mysterio instead of Daniel Bryan. I’m pretty sure this segment (from the tag title match until now) is gonna end up taking the entire final hour of Smackdown Friday. it’s been pretty awesome, so I’m not complaining.
- CM Punk, Cody Rhodes, Goldust, Rey Mysterio, and The Uso Brothers defeated The Shield and The Wyatt Family in a 12-man tag match. Very fun match, although another illogical ending with the faces picking up the win after a 619 and GTS combo on Erick Rowan. The faces posed at what I assume will be the end of the television show.

On this week’s edition of The Flagship, Brian, Steve and Michael talk about WWE Raw from Monday night including the bear feud between The Shield and The Wyatts, the lack of matches for the Survivor Series which is less than two weeks away, what is going on in the WWE right now, Hulk Hogan possibly making his return to the company and who he could possibly face at WrestleMania 30, Dixie Carter taking on Spike TV and some thoughts on the passing of Eddie Guerrero with his passing eight years ago.
With a little less than two weeks away heading into WWE Survivor Series, fans felt that WWE was really going to go all out to get fans interested in the pay-per-view event. The rating though didn’t reflect that.
Raw drew a 2.7 rating with an average of 3.77 million viewers, which is down from last week’s 2.8 rating with an average of 3.89 million viewers. The first hour of the show averaged 3.87 million viewers featuring Randy Orton vs Cody Rhodes and Goldust, the second hour averaged 3.83 million viewers featuring John Cena vs The Real Americans and the last hour averaged 3.60 million viewers with the main event of CM Punk and Daniel Bryan vs The Shield.
Is this a cause of concern for the WWE heading into Survivor Series?
The WWE has announced their third match for Survivor Series as CM Punk and Daniel Bryan will be battling Erick Rowan and Luke Harper of The Wyatt Family.
The feud started on the October 28 edition of WWE Monday Night Raw when the entire Wyatt Family brutally attacked Bryan and Punk on separate segments during the show. On last week’s Raw, Punk defeated Harper, with the Brey Wyatt and Rowan attacking Punk until Bryan made the save. On Smackdown last week, Bryan Harper battled to a no contest. Then on Raw last night, Punk and Bryan faced The Shield and near the end of the match the Wyatt’s got into a brawl with The Shield. Bryan and Punk looked on from the outside until The Wyatt’s and The Shield put their focus back on the duo and attacked them until The Usos and The Rhodes Brothers made the save.
Survivor Series takes place on Sunday, November 24 from TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts with the main event of Randy Orton vs The Big Show for the WWE title.
You know how WWE always seems a little bit… different when it’s overseas? Well, last night’s show opening had to be one of the most bizarre segments ever. Not only did we find out that The Authority was on vacation (really?), we had Brad Maddox and suited-up Kane arguing about Randy Orton’s opponent. The Result? Orton got stuck in a 2-on-1 match against the tag-team champions. Huh? Because, really, WWE, it makes the MOST sense if your HEEL AUTHORITY FIGURES put the HEEL CHAMPION in a handicap match against the BABYFACE CHAMPIONSHIP TEAM…. [Read more...]
